Ryan Kwanten nude pics are fake, says his rep

ryan-91
A nude photo, purportedly of Ryan Kwanten, has emerged. I’m not going to link directly to the site where it is, because it’s questionable for us to link directly to full frontal. If you go to DListed they link to it. Unlike the “fake” iPhone self portraits of Blake Lively, there’s only one picture here and while it looks real at first glance, some close uh examination shows that it probably isn’t.

ryan-17
The face does look like Ryan, but if you look under his left arm (the one on the right side of the photo) the torso looks blurry and like someone tried to blend it with the bottom. On the right arm hanging down there’s a weird blotch just to the left of the watermark like someone matched the hand to the arm and got a little lazy with the clone tool. What’s more is that the tile background behind the top of the body does not match the tile behind the bottom. It’s a decent photoshop job, but it’s not convincing. Well it’s fake, Ryan’s rep has declared, and I believe it:

A “nude photo” leaked online Monday of Ryan Kwanten is fake, his rep tells Us Weekly. The low-resolution shot shows the 34-year-old actor with his pants pulled down — leaving nothing to the imagination — but there’s nothing real about the photo.

Although this scandalous shot isn’t the real deal, fans of Kwanten see plenty of his flawless physique in True Blood’s numerous shirtless scenes

[From US Weekly]

Just the way the site owner reacted on HuffPo convinces me that he cooked this thing up for publicity. In the original article he even wrote “There is the high likelihood that it may not be authentic.” The good news is that everyone loves Kwanten enough that we want the pic to be real, despite the strange curve to that other dude’s peen.

In terms of True Blood so far, I’m still watching it. I’m not as into it as I was last season, though. I won’t reveal any spoilers for those of you who might still watch the past episodes. That could be pure laziness on my part along with the fact that I’m not as invested in the show as I once was. I will say that I like Eric like he is though. He’s sweet and I’d love to see him get his old personality back but maintain more of this gentle humanity. The witches are grating on my last nerve. That plot seems so Twilight.

Oh and I think we can judge from this underwear pic from True Blood if that other photo was real or not. That’s a totally different shape there. A nice one too.

Star: The True Blood actors are divas & are competing for lines and women on set

truebloodheader
This is an amusing story in this week’s Star that I hope is overblown. I’d like to think of the True Blood men as a kind of brotherhood of hotties, joking around and slapping towels at each other’s asses in homoerotic scenes in the locker room. Star claims that they’re backbiting bitches to each other, though, and are competing for screen time and trying to see who can hook up with the most extras. Even if this story is complete bunk, and I hope it is, it’s nice to hear it about men for once. Stephen Moyer is supposedly above all this since he’s married, but they claim he still acts like an entitled diva. Now that I can believe.

trueblood1

“The cast is full of hot guys with huge egos, and they are all battling to be the breakout star of the show,” an insider tells Star. “They each want the best dialogue, the best story lines and the most camera time.” And for some of the leading men, the feuding goes beyond the screen. “Ryan Kwanten and Alex Skarsgard are constantly competing,” the source reveals. “even about who can lift more weight or do more crunches. They always have their shirts off, flexing their abs.”

And they’re competing over hot girls too. “Some of the guys are making their way through the female extras to see who can hook up with the most,” the insider says. While Stephen Moyer stays true to his wife, Anna Paquin, he is getting a bad rap for his above it all attitude. “Stephen walks around like he’s the big man on campus,” the insider dishes. “He feels like he and Anna deserve the most perks, which doesn’t sit well with the other actors.” The one-set rivalry has also “gotten to be a problem for the producers and a real headache for the rest of the cast and crew,” adds the insider.”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, July 18, 2011]

They don’t mention Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), Sam Trammell (Sam) or Joe Manganiello (Alcide), all of whom are in long term relationships. Ellis has been with his girlfriend since 1993 and they have a son together, Trammell’s girlfriend is expecting twin boys, and Manganiello is sadly engaged. So it’s hard to tell who Star is referring to when they say they’re competing to bang the women on set. That’s probably the point, though and this whole story is hopefully crap. (Apart from the detail that Ryan and Alex have sweaty workout sessions together in which they love showing each other their abs.)

As for the last episode of True Blood, without revealing any spoilers I have to say the show really picked up steam. Where the first episode this season was too slow and was focused on bringing us up to speed with the various characters a year later, this episode had a tighter plot and some promising twists. I can’t wait to see what happens with Eric! I love him like this, and that’s all I’ll say about it. What happened to the werewolves though? We need some brooding Alcide coming to the rescue. If the books are any indication, and that’s not always the case, he’ll come back soon. (From what I remember, right? A lot of it is a blur to me.)

Ryan Kwanten, hero, rescues bloody man in the street

ryankwantenmenshealth
Ryan Kwanten, the gorgeous 34 year-old underrated Aussie actor who plays Jason Stackhouse on HBO hit True Blood, may be a true hero. Just Jared is reporting that Ryan rushed to the aid of an unknown man lying bloodied in the street in LA. Ryan is even said to have waited with the victim until paramedics got to the scene. It’s unknown how the man was hurt or what his current status is, but if this is true we know that Ryan is an exceptional citizen along with being exceptionally buff (I could go on):

Ryan Kwanten drew a crowd on Friday night (April 1) at a busy intersection in Hollywood – but he wasn’t the center of attention.

“There was a bloody guy lying in the middle of the street at Hollywood and Highland and no one was doing anything. Ryan pulled up, saw the man down, jumped out of his car, and raced over to see if he could help,” a witness on the scene exclusively tells JustJared.com.

Our source says the 34-year-old True Blood star screamed they had to get the injured man off the street immediately, so with help from a few other guys, he carried the man off to the sidewalk.

“He stayed there watching him until paramedics arrived,” adds the source. “There was a crowd gathering and people recognized Ryan but he was just focused on making sure this guy was okay.”

[From Just Jared]

This could be true, although US Weekly asked Ryan’s rep for comment and basically got a shrug. I love Kwanten and I want to believe this vague anonymously sourced hero story, but it also comes right around the same time that HBO announced the premiere date for True Blood – June 26! – still too long but at least a concrete date, along with a spoiler-filled teaser video that just happens to star Kwanten. So I’m skeptical, but I want to believe. Oh and here’s another teaser for True Blood starring Pam, Tara and Lafayette. Still two and a half more months before the new season premieres, damnit.

I hate to say this because normally I love some facial hair, but that weird billy goat patch that Ryan has on his chin has got to go.

Ryan Kwanten of True Blood to play Charles Manson

legend of the guardians premiere 101010
True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten, who plays the lovably dumb Jason Stackhouse, is set to take on a much more serious role. He’s been slated to play notorious cult leader and serial murderer Charles Manson in a new film. Kwanten is an amazing actor who doesn’t get enough credit for how naturally and believably he plays Stackhouse. I think a lot of that is just due to the character. The guy is Australian and an intellectual but when you watch that show you never have a flicker of a doubt that he’s a dumbass from the south. Here’s more, from Celebuzz:

NBC reports that the True Blood stud has signed on to play serial-murder mastermind Charles Manson in an upcoming film titled The Family. Kwanten made the announcement while promoting his latest movie, the nouveau spaghetti western Red Hill.

Though the project is still in the early planning stages, Kwanten revealed that director Brad Anderson (The Machinist) is also attached to the film.

Manson is currently serving a life sentence for orchestrating several murders in the Southern California region in the late ’60s, including that of actress Sharon Tate.

[From Celebuzz]

This role could be a real breakthrough for his career although I doubt it will be a commercial success. I know I wouldn’t want to see a movie based on those horrible crimes. I’m one of those people who doesn’t even like scary movies though. (Have you seen this video on Pajiba of the top 100 horror movie quotes? It’s fascinating and creeped me out so much.) Real life horror stories just don’t do it for me. If I’m going to get scared, I want to be able to tell myself it’s not real. I’ll definitely watch less creepy segments from this movie just to see Kwanten. I’m very interested to see gorgeous Kwanten transform himself for this role. He’s sure to be incredible.

Oh and for those of you who are going to bring it up – we’ve already featured Kwanten on Hot Guy Friday, although we’re not adverse to including him again.

Ryan Kwanten brags that he’s done triathlons drunk

ryankwanten
True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten is the wet t-shirt cover boy for the November issue of Men’s Health. In the interview, Australian hottie Kwanten, 33, brags that he’s showed up to triathlons drunk and done “very well.” Sometimes I exercise hung over and I invariably feel like crap so I can’t imagine running, biking and swimming for a few hours in that condition. The worst I’ve done is try and get through an hour spinning class after a hard night out and not try to fake like I’m doing the work. I still end up faking it.

True Blood star Ryan Kwanten isn’t shirtless on the cover of the new issue of Men’s Health, but he does wear a wet T-shirt. In the interview he shares his thoughts on working out, something he does every day, sometimes for as long as 2.5 hours.

He has an unusual drinking habit: He’ll toss back a few, start to feel bold and then sign up for an organized athletic competition: “I’ve been known to turn up drunk at triathlons and do very well.”

On his ability to bounce back: “I have that sporting background where I want to be the best, I want to be the champion. If I’m knocked down, you’re damn sure I’m getting back up again. A lot of actors who may very well be more talented than me don’t have that kind of tenacity in the face of rejection. That resilience gives me a distinct advantage.”

On working out: “I’m not one of those actors who gets physically fit for a role and then loses it all again. I’m very rarely in the gym. My workouts are predominantly outside, in nature.”

On yoga: “I used to laugh at anyone suggesting it. Guys fear not being the best in these classes, but over time, you learn how to spend an hour not worrying about what anyone else is thinking. For guys especially, that’s a good thing.”

[From Men's Health via USA Today]

See I can’t relate to that nature exercise thing either and prefer to go to the gym where other people are around and I don’t have to worry about making my way back to civilization after pushing my body to the limits. Plus I feel like an ass when I run outside, but that’s just me and my issues. I guess I don’t have the fortitude to do triathlons wasted and run on outdoor trails for hours.

Men’s Health has an earlier article with Ryan where he gives fitness tips. The guy pretty much works out all day. No wonder he can drink so much and still stay ripped. The hot bastard.

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten is down to earth, funny

wenn2880068
Ryan Kwanten is the Australian beefcake behind True Blood’s hot but dumb single-natured assistant deputy, Jason Stackhouse. I haven’t heard much from Kwanten, 33, apart from a very friendly open interview he did with a fansite. He seems like a really normal, down-to-earth guy and in this latest quick profile with US Magazine, part of their weekly “25 things you didn’t know about” feature, he just confirmed my positive impression of him. I love his witty answers “5. Worst advice: 1) Turn here, I know a shortcut. 2) Just touch it,” and “24. I love odd numbers. Ironic this is No. 24.” are a couple that stand out. Here’s more:

1. My mum beat breast cancer. Everyone, in some way, has been touched by cancer. Please help any way you can.

2. I find it hard to trust anyone who doesn’t like animals.

3. My favorite yoga pose is Scorpion.

4. Best advice: a day at a time.

5. Worst advice: 1) Turn here, I know a shortcut. 2) Just touch it.

6. A woman’s body is the most exquisite gift. A woman’s mind is a mystery.

7. I’ve broken many a bone, including every knuckle on my right hand.

8. I believe what Muhammad Ali said: “Champions…have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”

9. I could only hope to be half the man my dad is.

10. I avoid pompous people and microwaves.

11. Whenever people agree with me, I always feel like I must be wrong.

12. I am yet to be defeated in Scrabble and beer pong.

13. You can find me at ryankwanten.com.

14. The harder I work, the luckier I get.

15. Nothing beats fresh air.

16. I call my brothers “Tenoskipoo” and “Goo.”

17. Foster’s is not Australian for beer. And the guy in the Outback Steakhouse ads is not Australian.

18. I have no formal acting training.

19. I wear a size-30 jean. Jason Stackhouse wears a size 28. Boy likes ‘em tight.

20. I’ve never stayed awake for a musical.

21. Favorite movie characters: Butch Cassidy, Martin Riggs, Andrew Beckett.

22. I always misspell definitely.

23. I’ve been bitten by a shark.

24. I love odd numbers. Ironic this is No. 24.

25. I’m still growing into my shoes.

[From US Magazine]

Ryan is also on the cover of GQ Style’s latest issue, and has has some pretty level-headed things to say about fame. He said “I’m not very newsworthy. I’m still a very private person. I want to leave all the drama in my life on the set. I’m not going to call my publicist from a restaurant and say, ‘I’ll be leaving at 7:57. Make sure there’s a photographer outside.’ Giving my life up like that would be taking a little bit of my soul.”

When I went to google Ryan Kwanten, one of the suggested phrases was “Ryan Kwanten Workout,” which points you to this page on Men’s Health with his manly outdoor fitness tips. You know, I’m not particularly attracted to Jason Stackhouse because you can see the gears turning behind his eyes when he thinks and he looks like he drolls when he sleeps, but Ryan is definitely at the top of my list now. His accent really does it for me too. (You can hear it in the video below!)

Mild True Blood spoilers for past episodes
This week is the last episode of the whole damn third season on True Blood. I can’t believe it’s over so quickly and I’m kind of peeved about that. I’m anxious to see how Eric gets out of his particularly sticky situation and if Russell Edgington continues to be a problem. It’s sad, in a way, that Franklin Mott is no longer on as I was pretty fond of the actor who played him, James Frain. He somehow made a terrible character likable and I found him sexy to be honest. If anyone was going to take care of Mott I’m glad that it was Stackhouse, though.

Here’s a cute interview with Ryan interviewing Lindsay Pulsipher. She’s the actress who plays Crystal, his on-screen love interest. His accent is so dreamy! These two are really flirty with each other, and you can tell how much Lindsay is into him. Who wouldn’t be?

Here’s Ryan at the True Blood season premiere on 6/8/10. I love how he brought his mom! He’s also shown on 3/5, 3/4 and 1/28/10. Credit: WENN.com.

Who is the sexiest: Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten or Alex Skarsgard?

hot1

CB already covered part of this, just because she’s a True Blood fan girl, and who doesn’t love a good photo of a sweaty Alexander Skarsgard? Anyway, Details finally unveiled the complete trio of True Blood covers, plus additional photos of hotties Skarsgard, Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten, plus big interviews with all three men.

Since I don’t watch True Blood and I’m really not invested in knowing if these dudes have good personalities, I only skimmed the interview (complete piece here). Alexander comes off like a sweetheart, as always, and very humble and down-to-earth. Stephen Moyer sounds a little haughty, a little naughty, and like he’s probably a lot of fun, and probably really good in bed. And Ryan Kwanten, who I knew nothing about before today, comes across sort of interesting. But it’s like he’s trying to prove that he’s not a “meathead” as his character his described. He’s trying a little hard, but maybe with someone else, it would be cute. What is fascinating to me that we have a Swede, an Englishman and an Aussie who have all found fame on an American television show about vampires and sex. It’s weird, right?

In the end, I didn’t find anything fascinating in the interviews, but the photos are killing me, so I thought I’d do a little caption game for them, just for fun:

Alex: “This is how I will look when I’m about to go down on you!”

hot3

Ryan: “No, I’m not Ryan Reynolds. Stop f-cking asking me that.”

hot5

Ryan: “Would you still think I’m a meathead if I took off my pants?”

hot6

Stephen: “Bales of hay turn me on.”

hot9

Stephen: “Imagine this sand is your vagina.”

Alexander Skarsgard is delicious on the cover of Details

DECVR00202UK0
True Blood hottie Alex Skarsgard works the hell out of a white T-Shirt as one of the cover boys of the upcoming issue of Details Magazine. Two alternate covers include Ryan Kwanten and Stephen Moyer. What about Sam Trammel, Nelsan Ellis and Mehcad Brooks? Unfortunately Details has only released the cover with Alex, and we’ll have to wait and see what Ryan and Stephen look like. (Socialite Life had advance copies, but has since removed them.)

The beefcake men of True Blood aren’t coming back to grace our television sets until June! It’s a big tease, but I think I can handle it. All I have to do is picture Skarsgard with Kate Bosworth and my frustration level goes down.

Details hasn’t released excerpts online and they told us they’ll have the other covers and article available at noon EST, at which point we’ll update this post or run another one. We’ll have to make due with this pictorial for the time being, and it’s plenty. There’s also more on Details.com.
