Lindsay Lohan might not have stolen those missing jewels after all

People are still talking about that jewelry Lindsay Lohan is supposed to have stolen. I stay “supposed to have” meaning “did.” Not as in “supposed to have but she’s being framed, damn it!” The $40,000 worth of jewels disappeared during a photoshoot for the cover of British Elle, and it sounds like Lohan did nothing but give everyone at the magazines a headache for a few days. It definitely wasn’t just this once incident and she was otherwise lovely. Or otherwise adequate. She was a spoiled, selfish, rude, self-centered brat the whole time. And I’m only stopping there because I’m tired and out of adjectives. But she was a bitch.

Anyway, according to one of People’s sources, Lohan was never even around the jewelry in question, even though earlier they reported that she was “the last one seen wearing them“:

If Lindsay Lohan fans want a peek at the jewels that went missing at her recent Elle cover shoot, they’ll have to look further than the cover photo.

In the September issue of Elle magazine’s U.K. edition, Lohan isn’t even wearing the valuable designer baubles reported missing. In fact, the actress never wore the jewels, an insider says. Police are still investigating the matter, they confirm to PEOPLE.

Shortly after Lohan, 23, posed for the cover, a complaint was made that an estimated $40,000 worth of jewels – a necklace and some earrings – had gone missing and police were informed on June 8.

Inside the magazine, which hits newsstands in the U.K. on Wednesday, an article describes a chaotic few days with Lohan as journalists try to seal the cover shoot and – unsuccessfully – the interview. The story also follows Lohan whizzing around London nightlife pursued by photographers, and captures a tearful confrontation with off-again, on-again girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

A behind-the-scenes video has been posted the Elle Web site.

The jewels actually seen on the magazine’s cover are a cuff, bangle and ring by Stephen Webster, a bracelet by Bulgari, and Lohan’s own bracelet and bangle.

Scotland Yard confirmed to PEOPLE Monday that they are still investigating and no arrests have been made. They would not say whom they plan to interview but are “in the process of contacting those they wish to speak to as inquiries are continuing.”

Elle has consistently said there is no reason to believe Lohan was “in any way responsible and has no further comment to add.”

Here’s how you translate that last sentence from PR speak to straight-to-the-point English: “We are 99% sure Lindsay stole the jewelry but because no one actually saw her do it or has caught her with it, we want to play it safe.”

So there’s this video of the shoot that’s really funny. It shows Lohan and her enigmatic hair flipping skills, which are supposed to impress us. There’s no mention of the jewelry at any point, but the photographer says something about what a great model she is and how Lindsay always gives 100 percent. Then he pauses and says, “Well… 99 percent.” Priceless. They also mention at the start of the video that she kept the entire photo shoot crew waiting twelve hours. Yes, twelve. Unless she mistook a.m. for p.m., that is insanely self-centered. And she does live a late-night life – maybe to Lindsay it seems perfectly normal for a photo shoot to start at two in the morning.

Nonetheless, the video doesn’t prove a thing, other than Lindsay Lohan can actually be attractive with enough makeup and hair people hovering over her. She has a long history of theft, and I’m still flat-out calling this a guilty until proven innocent situation.

What is the female equivalent of douche?

  2. zonalpony says:

    umm… douchette?

  3. McKenna says:

Why the hell is she on the cover in the first place? She just needs to go away.

  4. Ron says:

hmmmm….she coudln’t ever wear the jewelry. So why would she steal it? Is she going to sell them on Craigslist? And believe me when I tell you, every actress in Hollywood “borrows” things when they have a photo shoot. They also permanently “borrow” things from wardrobe all the time. But they never take things that have to be returned like jewelry/furs etc…unless they are Sharon Stone of course!

Hell, I wonder why Lindsay keeps getting fashion magazine covers. She’s not related to fashion at all and she hasn’t worked in a long time. She’s just this trainwreck we can’t stop watching. Why on Earth reputable magazines like British Elle and Vogue Spain keep giving space to this woman?
It can’t be the lack of good models, with so many wonderful girls like Lara Stone, Sasha Pivovarova, Jessica Stam and Raquel Zimmermann out there.
I think Lindsay totally stole the jewelry. Don’t you remember that she stole a mink coat from some girl, in past?

  6. daniel says:

she gets magazine covers for the same reason she’s on tabloid covers – she’s a nasty trainwreck, and trainwrecks sell.

  7. JayBird says:

Trey I should point out that a douche is inherently female. But point taken.

    music… tooo…. annnnnoying….. arghhhh..

  9. Susette says:

I don’t understand why she keeps getting hired. I get that she automatically brings attention, but it’s only negative attention. I find it hard to believe that people will actually buy magazines or products just because she’s on the cover or in view.

  10. Green Is Good says:

Making the crew wait 12 hours? They should have fired her.

  11. Bodhi says:

Shes cranked as hell & working it, just like most models

  12. annie says:

I LOVE HER!!!!!! u go lindsay

  13. CeeJay says:

She keeps getting hired because the industry likes her, plain and simple. She has something that the fascinates the fashion industry and as long as that is the case she will continue to appear on magazine covers. I guess the interesting question is whether or not she gets paid for this work?

  14. t-t says:

    leave her alone!!

  15. No Sensi says:

    “well, 99.9%”

lol – that video is so funny, if you were trying to do a send up, I don’t think you could do it better!

It does seem to explain alot about her life when you see how phony everyone around her is…

  16. Ruby Red Lips says:

12 hours waiting…..they waited and obv she is in great demand, so she is in a position to keep people waiting 12 hours. Obv the trainwreck status is a huge appeal…look at us all commenting on her, but she should really have been fired for the 12 hour wait, thats shocking and does prove she is self-entitled, spoilt, ungrateful and disrespectful. Although she did look good in the shoot!!!

I’ve read all the comments and saw the video and I still don’t get why they think “there’s a huge fascination with Lindsay Lohan and her style”. WTF?? She can’t dress herself to save her life! The chick wears fucking tights all the time with her bra hanging out and obviously has bad problems with alcohol and drugs, just like any Hollywood tramp. Pick one off the street – it’d be a hell of a lot more “fascinating”.

They have to be on crack. She’s just another slutty codependent girl with poorly maintained orange dyed skin that nobody will hire. Except for covers of Elle (???) I cannot believe the Brits are buying this – the crew of the shoot seems over it. Too bad they didn’t fire her.

THERE IS NO GLAMOUR HERE – MOVE ALONG …

she just gets worse and worse to look at, doesn’t she?
