Paul McCartney marries Stella-clad Nancy Shevell in London

wenn3551247

Dear God, these photos are just TOO CUTE. I love old people. I’m not saying that in a mean, bitchy “Paul McCartney is so OLD” way. I’m saying that in a “It must be cool to be insanely rich and at an age where you no longer give a crap” way. These are photos of Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell’s wedding, which just happened a short while ago in London. Nancy wore this adorable little white dress, which was designed by her new step-daughter Stella. I want this dress! Nancy looks so sexy! Paul looks dashing and handsome too – they are a lovely couple. I swear, this was like another royal wedding – Paul and Nancy posed happily for photos all weekend as they were making preparations for their wedding, and it just shows how they’re both happy, content and old pros at all of this. I love that they posed for photos coming in and leaving the ceremony too. So sweet.

He loves her yeah, yeah, yeah! After days of wedding preparations, Paul McCartney and New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell exchanged vows during an afternoon ceremony in London.

The couple, who have been dating since 2007 and were engaged in May were greeted with cheers as they arrived at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, which was opened especially for the event.

Shevell, 51, wore a flower in her hair and long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress and shoes by her new stepdaughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney, who also made her father’s navy blue suit.

Paul’s youngest daughter Beatrice, 7, served as the flower girl and was seen wearing a long dress under a pink wool coat, and a flower wreath in her hair.

As the group left McCartney’s home, the former Beatle, 69, joked to the mass of photographers and reporters outside, “What’s going on? What are you all doing here?”

Other wedding guests included Shevell’s college-age son, Arlen, her cousin Barbara Walters, McCartney’s brother Mike, Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, and George Harrison’s widow, Olivia. (Perhaps late Beatle John Lennon was there in spirit: Today would have been his 71th birthday.)

During the non-denominational ceremony, McCartney gave his bride a vintage-style Neil Lane diamond eternity band featuring 5-carats of square cut diamonds set in platinum. (The singer proposed with a 5-plus carat, flawless diamond art deco ring, also from the celebrity jeweler.)

“They’re totally in love and thrilled!” Lane told PEOPLE in May.

McCartney and Shevell waved to guests as they left the Town Hall amid a shower of pink and white rose petals tossed by guests. “It was terrific – thank you!” McCartney told the crowd, joking with fans and press that he felt “married.”

The newlyweds will celebrate with a party this evening at McCartney’s home, where guests will feast on vegetarian items including arugula and basil salad, goat cheese polenta, savory tarts, and dumplings.

There will be two wedding cakes – one traditional and one vegan – both baked by Posh Puds Patisserie. “We’ve worked on this for weeks,” a woman from the company told PEOPLE.

It’s the third marriage for McCartney, whose six-year union to Heather Mills ended with a bitter, headline-making divorce in 2008. (His first wife, Linda – whom he also married at the Town Hall – died from cancer in 1998, after 29 years of wedlock.) Shevell is also divorced.

On Oct. 3, a beaming McCartney told PEOPLE, “It’s a good time for me. I’m happy.”

The couple are expected to have a stateside celebration later this month.

[From People]

I always love the details about the jewelry and the food. For the rings, it sounds like Paul knows his way around a jewelry store, and that he has no problems showering his girl with diamonds. YAY! The food is… meh. But Paul’s a vegetarian (a vegan?), and I’m not, so maybe that’s why I’m not all over the “goat cheese polenta” (the idea of it makes me nauseous).

I will say this though – I think this is a perfectly beautiful and appropriate way for two people “of a certain age” to get married when it’s not their first time around the block, you know? Nancy and Paul look gorgeous, but I love that she wasn’t wearing some long gown, and I like that everything just seemed low-key and about the people they really cared about. It’s nice.

Paul McCartney is getting married with no pre-nup again

wenn5671606

It’s been reported all week, and now it looks like it’s really going to happen – Paul McCartney is set to marry for the third time. His third wife will be American Nancy Shevell, a 51-year-old, once-divorced businesswoman. According to earlier reports, Nancy and Paul plan to tie the knot in “a small, intimate, elegant, classic wedding” in Sussex, England, and then they’ll throw a big wedding reception in New York “later on”. But! Paul and Nancy just posted a wedding notice in London, so all of those reports might be crap:

Paul McCartney is one step closer to saying “I do!”

The former Beatle and his bride-to-be, New York City businesswoman Nancy Shevell, have posted a notice announcing their intention to marry in London.

Known as a banns, the notice was filed by the couple in person at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London this week and posted on Wednesday.

The venue — that has four rooms that can seat 20-100 guests — is the same one that McCartney, 69, chose to wed his late wife Linda in 1969. Paul and Linda’s daughter, Mary, also chose the venue to get hitched last year.

“It will be a small, intimate wedding,” a source tells Us Weekly of McCartney’s wedding to Shevell, 51, which will be his third. “It’s going to be very elegant and classic.”

Following a 16-day waiting period, McCartney and Shevell — who announced their engagement in April — can legally tie the knot on or after September 30.

[From Us Weekly]

So it’s not happening this weekend, alas. This will be Paul’s third marriage, after his first marriage to Linda, who died in 1998, and his second marriage to Heather Mills, which ended in divorce in 2002. Heather reported got a $35 million payoff/settlement, which she blew through very quickly, reportedly.

As for Nancy… she’s supposed to be very wealthy on her own, and Paul is showering her with gifts too. Her engagement ring cost $650,000, and Paul is so convinced that Nancy isn’t interested in his money that he’s reportedly eschewed a prenup:

[Paul McCartney is] reportedly rebuffing a prenuptial agreement.

Shevell’s own wealth is only part of the reason McCartney is eschewing a prenup, Popeater’s Rob Shuter told ABCNews.com. “Paul is saying, ‘This girl is not Heather,’” he said.

“She’s a very, very different lady than Heather Mills,” Shuter said. “She’s incredibly wealthy and successful in her own right.”

[From ABC News]

We’ll see. I mean, it’s obvious that Nancy isn’t a Heather Mills-type, but who knows? So far, Nancy has seemed discreet and elegant, and I suspect she’ll be the perfect trophy wife/companion to Paul.

Since I have Showtime, I keep watching the documentary Paul did called The Love You Make, all about Paul putting together the 9/11 concert back in 2001. Paul’s general character surprised me – he comes across as a very nice man, of course, but what surprised me was his incredible focus, and his incredible memory. You’d think that with all of the drugs he took in 1960s, he wouldn’t be able to remember anything from that period, but the word “encyclopedic” kept popping up in my mind while I watched him. Anyway, I get the feeling that Paul just wants a woman who will be his friend, someone he can talk to, and be his companion at this point. I hope Nancy is good to him.

Paul McCartney bought Nancy Shevell a $650K engagement ring, no prenup?!?

wenn2714420

As we found out on Friday, Paul McCartney and his lady love Nancy Shevell are newly engaged. It will be Paul’s third marriage, after his decades-long marriage to Linda and his all too brief marriage to the one-legged hustler. Something tells me that Nancy is a keeper, and that this will be Paul’s final marriage. Nancy seems like a low-key woman, and I sincerely hope they’re happy together. Life & Style reports that Paul is so enamored with Nancy, he went all-out and bought her a $650,000 engagement ring! You can see a photo of the alleged ring here, at Life & Style. Apparently, Nancy “loves it.” Durr.

Paul McCartney’s fiancee Nancy Shevell unveiled her sensational $650,000 engagement ring on Friday, May 6, and Life & Style has the exclusive photos!

“Nancy’s ring is huge! You can tell she was excited to finally be showing it off,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “She was glowing and relaxed and looked like she couldn’t be happier. She even gave a thumbs up when asked how her and Paul were doing. Clearly the couple is very happy,” the eyewitness continued.

A source tells Life & Style of the huge round-cut diamond ring, “Paul spent more than $650,000 on the gorgeous ring, and Nancy absolutely loves it!”

Life & Style originally broke the news of the couple’s engagement after dating for four years. Check-out this week’s issue for all of the engagement details!

[From Life & Style]

Who doesn’t like a $650,000 ring? What woman looks at a $650,000 and says, “Nah, I’m good”??? Of course Nancy likes it. And good for them.

Sigh… I really hope she’s not a crazy golddigger. If she was Heather Mills-esque, we would have known by now, right? Her crazy would have already come out, I’m thinking.

UPDATE: Ooooh, The Mail says that Paul isn’t asking Nancy to sign a prenup, just that “McCartney’s lawyers have drawn up a simple one-page document, saying that in the event that the new marriage fails Miss Shevell won’t make a claim on the trust funds of any of his children, and that seems to be enough for them both.” They also say that the wedding will be a smaller, non-glitzy affair.

Here are some photos of Paul in Peru yesterday:

Paul McCartney is engaged: is she another con artist golddigger?

wenn5416495

Remember when Paul McCartney fell head over heels in love with a crazy, one-legged, pathological liar, ex-hooker and con artist? Good times. Well, out with the Crazy and in with the Normal! According to People Magazine, Paul McCartney has proposed to his girlfriend of several years, Nancy Shevell. Nancy is 51 years old, and she apparently has her own money. She met Paul when the two were neighbors in The Hamptons, I think, and when she was still married. There have been engagement rumors before, but I think this current round might be true:

Paul McCartney and his girlfriend of four years, Nancy Shevell, are engaged to be married, sources tell PEOPLE.

“Nancy and Paul are getting married,” a source close to Shevell, 51, a New York businesswoman, tells PEOPLE. “Ring and all – very exciting.”

The Beatles legend, 68, started dating Shevell in the Hamptons during the summer of 2007, and despite their 17-year age difference, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE they were a perfect pair.

“They have the right chemistry,” the source said. “They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic.”

The couple most recently stepped out on Monday for a gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

In Love
This will be McCartney’s third marriage: He married Linda McCartney in 1969 and Heather Mills in 2002. While his marriage with Mills ended in a messy divorce in 2008, McCartney didn’t seem hesitant to give love another shot.

“I just like being in love,” he said of his budding romance with Shevell in 2008.

His fiancée even won over the kids – McCartney has five children: Heather, 48, Mary, 41, Stella, 39, James, 33, and Beatrice, 7 – and, in 2009, a source close to Stella said the fashion designer was “thrilled for her father.”

[From People]

Yeah, Stella HATED Heather Mills, so basically anyone Paul chose from here on out would be better. From what little I know of Nancy, she seems low-key, and that’s probably good for Paul. He seems like the kind of man who doesn’t know what to do with himself if he’s not in a relationship. And I don’t mind the age difference either – I mean, hey, it could totally be worse.

Meanwhile, my mom is going to be so upset that she got passed over AGAIN!!!

Ringo Starr’s “Peace and Love”-themed 70th birthday

It’s hard to believe that the Beatles are old enough to be grandparents- but drummer Ringo Starr just turned 70 years old. Ringo celebrated with a “Peace and Love” themed party attended by fans, family and friends, and closed out the evening with an all-star show at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall that thrilled concert goers. An unannounced appearance by Paul McCartney sent the crowd into fits, and Yoko Ono also made an appearance.

The cake had been served, the candles had been blown out, and Ringo Starr had all but told the sold-out crowd at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall to go home, but the most exciting part of his 70th birthday show last night was still to come. That was the exact moment, right around 10 p.m., that none other than Paul McCartney bounded on stage in his skinny tie and fitted suit. The art-deco hall filled with 1964-style squeals as Sir Paul tore through the Beatles’ “Birthday” with the wild-eyed drive of someone decades younger.

McCartney’s unannounced appearance was the perfect end to an evening of festive collaboration. Ringo calls his touring act the All-Starr Band for a reason: They’re all handpicked veterans of bands from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. In between his solo hits (“Photograph,” “It Don’t Come Easy”) and Beatles classics (“Yellow Submarine,” “Act Naturally,” “Boys”), he gave each of his bandmates ample time to demonstrate their own claims to fame. Keyboardist/saxophonist Edgar Winter led electrifying renditions of “Frankenstein” and “Free Ride.” Guitarist Rick Derringer of the McCoys rocked “Hang On Sloopy.” The Romantics’ Wally Palmar told us “What I Like About You.” Mr. Mister’s Richard Page spread his “Broken Wings.” Gary Wright crooned “Dreamweaver,” which he said was inspired by a book on Eastern philosophy that George Harrison once gave him. (“George Harrison never gave me no damn book,” cracked Ringo.)

I’m not sure I’d sit through an entire concert by any of those guys’ original groups, but seeing them run through their hits with Ringo was fun — a classic-rock radio revue with one of history’s greatest beat-keepers behind the kit. Starr himself was as energetic as any 70-year-old I’ve ever encountered, grooving gamely at front stage or drumming with that familiar head-bobbing enthusiasm.

Halfway through a Mr. Mister song, my mother and I noticed the E Street Band’s Stevie Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren and ELO’s Jeff Lynne simultaneously leaving their seats a few rows ahead of us. For a moment I thought they must not be big “Broken Wings” fans, but of course they were only heading backstage. A few numbers later, Starr said he wanted to play a tune that he was considering cutting from his set list due to lukewarm crowd reactions. The song was “With A Little Help from My Friends.” Oh, Ringo, you joker! This was the cue for a cavalcade of celebs to join him. Seeing Starr giddily jam with Van Zandt, Lofgren, Lynne, Yoko Ono, Joe Walsh, and quite a few others is not a sight I’ll soon forget.

My mother and I had been hoping all along that McCartney might pop up. He was conveniently in between tour dates in London and San Francisco this week, and 70 is a big birthday. But “With A Little Help” transitioned into a sweet singalong of John Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance,” followed by a spontaneous crowd rendition of “Happy Birthday” and the aforementioned cake and candles, and Macca was nowhere to be seen. Oh well. Who could complain after all those other guests? And then he turned up after all. His “Birthday,” with Walsh on wicked lead guitar, was the best possible way to end that show. Afterward, teary hugs were exchanged between McCartney, Starr, and Ono. McCartney softly repeated the words “Happy birthday to you” into the microphone. The appreciative surprise on his old friend’s face looked altogether genuine.

And so, for the second time in as many years, the two surviving Beatles shared a concert stage. (The same stage, as it happens.) My mom, who never got to see them when she was a teenaged fan in the ’60s, was pretty psyched to be there. So was I. On our way out from the venue, someone was raving about “history in the making.”

[From Entertainment Weekly]

Oh, man, do I wish I could have been there! I am kind of in denial about how old Paul and Ringo are. I would like to think they will live forever, wouldn’t you? At any rate, Ringo looks damn good for 70 years old. Despite the substance abuse problems he had earlier in his life, he looks like he’s taking very good care of himself these days. Happy Birthday, Ringo!

Paul McCartney on how he enjoys shopping alone without a bodyguard or driver

arriving at the BAFTA/LA Awards Season Tea Party 2010
For all the celebrities who roll with huge entourages, like Mariah Carey and Diddy, and all the reality stars who have bodyguards for no discernible reason, like Kate Gosselin and Heidi Montag, there are still living legends that do their own shopping and handle fans without a go-between. Paul McCartney has a new interview in the London Times in which he details his strategy for dealing with fame. He says it’s all about trying to feel normal and being gracious but firm about his limits. I like how McCartney explains his daily life, and from what I’ve seen of him recently he seems to have a real sense of how famous he is without the ego and sense of entitlement that too often go along with that. There’s something dignified and no-nonsense about him.

Speaking on the Today programme on Radio 4, Sir Paul, 67, said that he found fame pretty annoying and turned down approaches for his aautograph while in restaurants or out shopping, offering instead to shake hands.

He said: “The weight of fame can get pretty annoying. But you know what I do now? I have rules, I’ve finally grown up and I finally realise I’ve got rights. So people will come up to me in a restaurant and say, ‘Can I have your autograph’ and I say, ‘I’m really sorry but I don’t do that when I’m eating. I hope you understand. I’ll shake your hand and I’ll talk to you.’

“Because I’m quite happy to talk to people on a one-to-one human basis, but the minute they turn me into this celebrity I’m pretending not to be for that minute, I sort of say, ‘No I’m not going to do that’. Most, in fact 99.9 per cent of people, are very understanding because they understand privacy.”

Sir Paul said that he also shrugged off the attention of fans while shopping. Recounting a visit to B&Q, the DIY chain, he said: “Shopping is another. I say, ‘I’m really sorry, I’m shopping and you know what guys are like at shopping, not very good. I’m looking for some nails and they’ve got to be 3in long for the job that I’m doing, and there’s no way I’m going to find them when I’m chatting to you and having my photo taken’.”

He said that he went to the shops by himself, because “people don’t expect me to do that”. He said: “I’ve always been very keen on doing that. Fame, is it a weight? I think it can be if you get the limos and the security and ten people go with you everywhere, but I don’t do that.

“I will just go shopping or go to the movies on my own, and I like that. It’s very much a balancing part of my life because the next day I might be playing to 50,000 people in Mexico.”

The musician, who appeared on the programme to promote an essay he has written about Meat- Free Mondays, a campaign to urge people to go vegetarian one day a week, cautioned against seeking fame. In a veiled attack on those who appear on reality television shows such as The X Factor, he said: “When we started out in the old days, you were looking to be famous via being very talented and working hard and coming up through the ranks.

“Now people are looking at what’s sold to them. It’s this sort of modern package, which is a little bit scary.”

Asked if fame was a weight, he said: “To some degree, but it’s a weight I’m happy to carry. I spent so much of my life trying to get famous, and it’s a little bit unseemly once you get famous to say, ‘Oh, I don’t want to be here’.”

[From Times Online via Gossip Rocks]

I haven’t been to England in many years, but from what I remember it’s a much more polite society than we’re used to in the US, at least in terms of how people respect boundaries. There are also much less paparazzi excepting for London. McCartney might not be able to go about his daily business like that in LA, but nothing is quite like LA either.

Even when he was dealing with the scandal over that lying harpie he married, Sir Paul handled himself with grace. There are plenty of celebrities who live low-key lives and deal well with the pressures of fame. We just don’t hear about them. As I was researching this story I found this LA Times article from 2007 about how “Celebrity Posse Has Become Passe.” They discuss how Brad Pitt regularly rides his motorcycle alone and how Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, and Jennifer Aniston are all seen out with their kids, a couple of friends, or even alone. I would guess that’s the rule, and that celebrities with huge staff are the exception. Even Jennifer Lopez is traveling with less staff and being praised for how down to earth she is lately. For some celebrities, that could be more more to do with the changing times than a change of heart.

Paul McCartney & lady-love Nancy Shevell might be engaged

fp_4384804_mccartney_paul_excl_coq_011710

There’s a new round of engagement rumors for Paul McCartney and his girlfriend of more than two years, American Nancy Shevell. The two had apparently known each other socially throughout the years, and began dating as both of their marriages unraveled, back in the fall/winter of 2007. Around this time last year, there was a round of engagement rumors too, which of course came to nothing. So… is there any truth to this round? Reasons why it’s a big “probably not”: 1) the rumors seemed based solely on the fact the Paul brought Nancy to the Golden Globes as his date and 2) Paul likes to be married. That last reason is a good one, too. Paul seems like the kind of guy who likes to have a wife and someone to take care of him. But still, I’m kind of doubting these reports:

Paul McCartney may be heading down the aisle for the third time – with New York millionaire Nancy Shevell, according to reports.

The power couple appeared side-by-side at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, and the 67-year-old former Beatle has proposed to her, reports the Daily Mail. They’ve even told friends and family they plan to wed, says the British paper.

McCartney and Shevell made headlines in November of 2007 when they were spotted around the Hamptons several times in the same weekend. Shevell, a businesswoman, was still married to high-powered attorney Bruce Blakeman at the time. But a close family friend said that Shevell’s marriage had been “unraveling for many years.”

She reportedly first met McCartney more than 20 years ago when their families vacationed together, but only started dating him after the musician’s messy divorce battle from his second-wife, Heather Mills.

Mills won a whopping $49 million from the divorce, adding to the public’s disdain for her. Comedian Ricky Gervais made the payout the subject of a joke at the Golden Globes with McCartney and Shevell in the audience.

“We actually came over [from England] on the same flight,” Gervais said. “I didn’t get to speak to him because I was up the front in first class. He was behind me in coach. Saving money. He spent an awful lot last year.”

McCartney didn’t seem thrilled at the reference to his divorce.

But his new love may soon make that unpleasantness seem long in the past. McCartney fans compare Shevell to his first wife, Linda, since both came from families with successful businesses. (Linda died from breast cancer in 1998.)

“Nancy comes from a similar wealthy East Coast background to Linda and it makes everyone comfortable that she is clearly not after Paul’s money,” a source told the British newspaper, The People.

Also like Linda, Shevell battled breast cancer and has converted to vegetarianism.

McCartney’s daughter Stella, 38, had a rocky relationship with Mills but has taken to Shevell, says the Daily Mail. And even former Beatle bandmate Ringo Starr approves.

“Paul is deliriously happy with Nancy and decided she was the woman he wanted to make his third wife,” a friend told the Daily Mail. “They clicked from the moment they first met eyes. She is the complete opposite to Heather Mills and is only interested in Paul the person, not Paul the Beatle.”

Shevell walked the red carpet with her man at the Golden Globes, and was seated next to him at the Los Angeles awards show.

But she may have some competition. Actress Julia Roberts, who was seated on his other side, was constantly caught by cameras chatting him up during the show. She even mentioned him when she took the stage to present an award. “If you want attention, sit next to Paul McCartney,” Roberts gushed. “I never had so many texts in my life.”

[From The New York Daily News]

Well, I’ll say this about Paul and Nancy – they make a very attractive couple. Nancy is an attractive, handsome, refined woman without any hint of anything showy or graceless. She’s either 49 or 50 years old to Paul’s 67 years, so there’s still a gap, but it’s not a gross, “oh, she’s a young little golddigger” gap. Plus, Nancy has her own money. Perhaps Paul has learned his lesson with the Heather Mills debacle, and Paul’s just decided to “date” instead of “marry”. Here’s hoping!

Paul McCartney agrees that marrying Heather Mills was his biggest mistake

UPI POY 2009 - Entertainment.
Paul McCartney, 67, was asked to name his top mistake of the past decade, and when an interviewer brought up his high profile marriage to sociopath Heather Mills he didn’t disagree that it had been a huge mistake. He didn’t exactly dwell on it either though. McCartney had to pay for his mistake, but he says he got “a beautiful daughter out of it” so it’s all good:

SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY has branded his marriage to HEATHER MILLS one of the worst mistakes of his life.

The Beatles legend wed the former glamour model in 2002, but the couple separated in 2006, leading to an ugly public divorce battle.

The union was officially dissolved in 2008 and the veteran musician was forced to hand over $38.9 million (£24.3 million) of his fortune, as well as annual payments for the former couple’s young daughter, Beatrice.

In a new interview with Britain’s Q magazine, MCCartney was asked if getting married again was his greatest error of the last decade and he replied: “OK, yeah. I suppose that has to be the prime contender.”

He adds, “These things happen. I tend to look at the positive side, which is that I have another beautiful daughter out of it.”

[From Contact Music]

I love Paul McCartney and he has such a great attitude. Sir Paul appeared on The Late Show in July and I found him both funny and fascinating. The guy knows he’s a legend but he’s neither full of himself or especially humble. He carries himself with a kind of matter-of-fact grace that doesn’t take his fame too seriously. McCartney has his detractors, but I don’t know how he could have handled himself better during his high profile divorce. His ex wife threw a pitcher of water on his lawyer in court and he stayed quiet about it, smiling slightly as he left the courtroom with his dignified barrister with soaking wet hair. Maybe he was happy because Heather’s temper ended up saving him tens of millions of dollars.

Paul recently talked to the European Parliament about the effect of meat consumption on the environment. He urges people to go vegetarian once a week to help combat global warming. I know I’ve cut back my family’s meat consumption since I learned about how much resources it takes to produce.

Heather Mills is thrilled her daughter accosts meat-eating strangers

fp_3342882_mills_heather_cw
Today’s multiple-choice question: Heather Mills is: A) delusional B) crazy C) a stalker D) a megalomaniacal narcissist E) a horrible mother F) a whiner G) all of the above. If you chose G, congratulations, you’re reading yet another story about Heather Mills’ insanity. Just in the past few months we’ve gotten to hear Heather: complain about her $33.6 million divorce settlement (“we earned it together, I worked my butt off doing the tours and everything”); wishing karmic cancer on her enemies; and making sure everyone knows Paul McCartney’s youngest listens to the Beach Boys, not the Beatles.

Heather’s latest is two-fold. First, it seems Heather might be stalking her ex-husband, Paul and his new girlfriend Nancy Shevell. Sources tell the Daily Mail that Paul is “annoyed” because Heather keeps showing up at events that Paul and Nancy are already attending, and because Paul thinks Heather is “treading on his turf” with the whole vegan-restaurant thing. And don’t even get me started on the vegan-brainwashing Heather’s pulling on Beatrice:

Despite their acrimonious divorce, Heather Mills can’t keep away from Sir Paul McCartney. The former model has infuriated Sir Paul, 67, by jetting to the Hamptons where he is on holiday with his American girlfriend Nancy Shevell, 47.

‘Heather turned up at some big social functions which annoyed Paul,’ says a source.

The former Beatle is also said to be irritated that Heather is ‘treading on his turf’ by wanting to open a vegetarian restaurant in New York while he is promoting ‘Meat-Free Monday’ in the US.

Since her divorce, selfless Heather has become a full-time animal rights campaigner, tireless in her devotion to the cause. She has opened a vegan cafe, VBites, in East Sussex and even turned her five-year-old daughter with Sir Paul into a mini campaigner.

In an interview with ES magazine she explained how Beatrice had tried to convert fellow guests to veganism on a recent holiday to the south of France.

‘Beatrice questions everybody who eats animals,’ Heather revealed.

‘When we were in the south of France, there was a buffet for kids, and by the end of the week no one would sit near us because she would go over and say, “Why are you eating that cow’s bottom?” or “Oh, look at that little shrimp with little eyes.”‘

I realize that vegetarianism and veganism can be perfectly healthy and great alternatives to the omnivore lifestyle/choice. And given that both of Beatrice’s parents don’t eat meat, the chances were pretty good that little Bea wasn’t going to ever have a very meaty diet at any point in her life, even if Heather wasn’t so crazy and she and Paul had stayed together. What bothers me is the brainwashing of this child. Does Heather not want Bea to choose veganism or vegetarianism for herself? And does Heather have to take such pride in raising a child who accosts strangers about eating meat? It’s not cute, it’s not sassy, it’s just rude and unpleasant. It pains me to think that Bea is turning into her mother. But Bea is still young. When she rebels against her mom, it’s going to be with steak tartare and Abbey Road.

Heather Mills makes daughter listen to Beach Boys, not Beatles

A “Heather Mills is a bitch” story always makes my day a little better. Mostly, I love these stories because I know that in Heather’s mind, she’s always a saint, an icon of generosity, honesty, humanity, and all that is good in the world. I’m sure in Heather’s mind, she’s never done anything wrong – she is always the victim, trod-upon, yet tough and resilient, able to overcome what turns out to be her personality disorder.

Over the weekend, Heather attended a polo match in Bridgehampton, and she decided to tell People Magazine all about her daughter with Paul McCartney, five-year-old Beatrice. Some of what Heather says is really cute – Beatrice is a good dancer, and all of the kids at Beatrice’s summer camp try to copy her little English accent. But Heather also dropped the word that Beatrice’s favorite album is the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds. Gah! Beatrice doesn’t even get to listen to her dad’s band. Well, we don’t know that for sure. Pet Sounds is a good album. But I’d rather listen to The White Album.

She may be the youngest Beatle scion at age 5, but Paul McCartney’s daughter Beatrice enjoys grooving to another legendary 1960s rock band.

“She likes the Beach Boys,” Beatrice’s mother, Heather Mills, told PEOPLE at a polo event Saturday in Bridgehampton, N.Y. Her favorite song to sing? “God Only Knows” from Pet Sounds, the classic Beach Boys album that traditionally dukes it out with the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper for the title of greatest album ever.

“She’s always been into music. It’s innate,” Mills said. “And she’s a great dancer.”

Beatrice has been enjoying a nice holiday in the Hamptons, says her mother, and getting a chance to mingle with other kids. “She tried a day at summer camp,” Mills said. “All the kids were copying her English accent, which was quite funny.”

Mills, 41, who was divorced from Paul McCartney in 2008, was in Bridgehampton for the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field. While in the Hamptons, she’s also doing some promotion for a new vegan product line of hers.

“Even at lunch today, at the Southampton Beach Club, the people sitting next to me were having cow’s milk,” she said. “So I said, try soya. It’s better for you. And I brought them a little care packet.”

Oh. My. God. Heather “brought them a little care packet”! She’s so considerate, isn’t she? So benevolent! Heather continued her little soliloquy saying, “The people were so grateful that I gave them the splendiferous gift of soy milk – from my own teats, mind you, which I wrapped up in recycled birthday paper with a soy bow – that they told me what everyone always tells me, that I will win a Nobel Peace Prize one day, because everybody tells me I deserve it.” And then Heather farted, and it smelled like honeysuckle. “Pardon me,” Heather said, embarrassed, yet resilient.

Here’s Heather and Beatrice working together to put the finishing touches to her new Vegan café on June 27th. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.
