Heath Leger and Michelle Williams lead a very low-key lifestyle in Brooklyn punctuated by the occasional annoying paparazzo who catches them going about their daily business with surly looks on their faces. They have a daughter who will be two next month, Matilda, and have been together for a little over two three years. There was a story first reported by DListed that they applied for a marriage license in Brooklyn, but it was never confirmed that there was an actual ceremony. They were spotted wearing what appeared to be wedding rings, but they could have been symbolic and don’t necessarily mean they were legally married.

Now US Weekly is reporting that they split up “quietly and amicably” a few weeks ago:

A source close to the couple tells Us that Heath and Michelle “quietly and amicably split a few weeks ago.”

“The relationship had been rocky recently. They tried very hard to make it work but finally decided to separate. They just grew apart.”

The couple, who live in Brooklyn, NY and have a daughter, Mathilda, 23 months, met on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2005.

“They have a beautiful daughter and they are both committed to being great parents.”

Heath and Michelle’s reps haven’t commented on their supposed split yet.

I guess in all those candids of them looking miserable they really were miserable. They must have had that in common though, and maybe what once brought them together slowly eroded their relationship until there was nothing left. It’s sad when people break up, but they’re not my favorite celebrities and I can’t deny the schadenfreude I feel at hearing that they’ve broken up.

I’m interested to see if they really are married or not. Now that they’re breaking up we’ll probably get more details as the legal papers come out.

Heath Ledger is working on the Batman Begins sequel, in which he will play the role of Joker. Michelle Williams is looking busy lately too. According to IMDB she has four movies coming out next year, two of which she’s finished filming. Maybe they were both so wrapped up in their work they didn’t have time for each other and just drifted apart. Or maybe Heath was jealous that he wasn’t getting as much work as her.

Several celebrity couples got married on this long holiday weekend, including a pair that were already married and just wanted everyone to know how happy, normal and rich they are.

Usher and Tameka’s Do-Over
Usher, 28, and his pregnant man-faced bride, Tameka Foster, 38 had their “dream wedding” in Atlanta yesterday. They were already married, though, after a civil ceremony on August 3rd following their previous canceled wedding. Their first lavish ceremony, set to be held at at L.A. Reid’s estate in the Hamptons, was canned at the last minute. They claimed it was due to Tameka’s pregnancy complications, but everyone speculated that it was more likely to do with the negative story that came out in the Enquirer that week claiming she was an ex-con who once dated a drug-dealer who was shot-down execution style.

Tameka also is said not to get along with Usher’s mom, who she was rumored to have arranged to have fired as his manager, and that was complicating matters. Usher’s mom was noticeably absent from this latest wedding at the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort outside of Atlanta. 200 other guests were there, though, and enjoyed dinner in the ballroom following the exchange of vows.

Kate Walsh’s Whirlwind Wedding
Kate Walsh, 39, from Grey’s Anatomy, married the guy she’s been gushing about to the press, movie executive Alex Young, 36, in Ojal, California on Saturday.

Kate’s Grey’s co-stars were in attendance, including Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson, Sara Ramirez, Justin Chambers, and Shonda Rhimes. The reception was held at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa’s Casa Elar, a “Spanish-style estate.”

The pair just met in February and are getting hitched less than seven months later. I know a lot of people make it work when they get married before even dating a year, but to me that’s not enough time to come to a sane decision over whether you want to spend the rest of your life with someone. Your brain is still addled from all those love endorphins.

Bill Rancic and Guiliana DePandi’s Interminable Ceremony
I’ve been to several full Catholic ceremonies. They’re wicked long. I remember my uncle grinding his jaw throughout my cousin’s nearly hour-long ceremony, and that’s really all I can remember because I had to focus on something it went on so long. The bride was beautiful and it was touching and all, but really you can get the same feeling in 20 minutes instead of dragging it out and adding lots of scripture and ceremony in there. Everyone is just waiting for the party afterwards anyway.

So if a regular Catholic wedding is hard to sit through, imagine a full Catholic ceremony held in two languages. It doesn’t matter how pretty the church is decorated or how gorgeous the bride looks, that has got to be boring. (I’m really sorry if I’m offending Catholic people, I was raised Catholic, but there’s only so much church I can take.)

The first Apprentice Bill Rancic married E! News’s Guiliana DePandi in Italy on the island of Capri yesterday, and they had a full ceremony in both English and Italian. Their church was decorated with white roses and candles, and Rancic says they “wanted a very old school, full Catholic mass.” DePandi was born in Napoli and is a devout Catholic. Rancic and DePandi go to church together every Sunday.

The guests were bussed to the center of Capri and were entertained by Neopolitan singers and dancers. From there they walked to a reception at the Gran Hotel Quisisana.

They will not have a honeymoon for now as they both have work commitments. At least they’ll have tomorrow off.

Just when you thought the Anna Nicole story couldn’t get any weirder and/or was over come fresh allegations from an upcoming book about the tragic life of the drug-addicted former Playboy model. OK! Magazine claimed that it had some explosive news about Larry Birkhead, the man who fathered a child with Anna and is now caring for the infant. Since Birkhead may have screwed OK! out of an exclusive photoshoot with the coveted infant, we didn’t think anything they would have to say about him would be all that objective.

It sounded like OK! was going to claim that Larry and Howard K Stern, Anna Nicole’s lawyer and creepy hanger-on, reached some kind of deal outside the courts on the handover of the baby. According to the upcoming book, not only did they make a deal that Birkhead would care for the baby while Stern would continue to control Anna’s estate, they were gay lovers during Anna’s life and she knew about it. If this is true it would explain how they all were able to get along despite both having a supposed romantic interest in Anna:

The bombshell allegations about the steamy relationship between the former Playboy Playmate’s longtime companion Howard K. Stern and her baby’s biological father, Larry Birkhead, come to light in “Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith’s Death.”

Sordid passages in the soon-to-be released book by former MSNBC journalist Rita Cosby describe how Anna Nicole and her friend allegedly caught Stern and Birkhead with their shirts off and their pants around their ankles in a Los Angeles home.

Jackie Hatten, described in the book as one of Anna Nicole’s closest friends, said the men were engaged in oral sex.

“Their bodies were intermingled,” Hatten says, according to a copy of the book obtained by the Daily News. “It was obvious what was happening.”

The shocking book accuses Birkhead and Stern of cutting a secret deal after Anna Nicole was buried in March, with Birkhead getting custody of Dannielynn in return for Stern being named executor of the star’s estate.

Dannielynn, who turns 1 on Friday, could inherit hundreds of millions of dollars from the estate of Smith’s late husband, oil tycoon Howard Marshall.

Birkhead and a lawyer for Stern both vehemently denied the accusations in Cosby’s book yesterday - and vowed to drag her into court, setting the stage for an ugly legal battle.

Birkhead says he’s going to sue the author, Rita Skeeter Cosby, for making such inflammatory claims about him. Both he and Stern deny that they’re true.

There have been rumors that Birkhead was gay or bi for some time. A guy told The National Enquirer back in April that he had a torrid two month affair with Birkhead in 2000.

Anna is said to have known that these two were lovers and to have wanted a baby so badly that she picked Birkhead because he was blonde and blue-eyed. If this is true, something must have gone wrong with Stern and Birkhead’s relationship, because Birkhead was cut out of Anna’s life after she was a few months pregnant and they seemed genuinely pissed at each other. Maybe Stern wanted more control of Anna and her expected hundreds of millions, was threatened by Birkhead’s status as the father, and made sure that Birkhead was out of the picture.

The book paints a lecherous picture of Stern, known for hanging all over Anna Nicole and long suspected to have not only enabled but to have encouraged her addiction to a medicine cabinet full of prescription drugs.

Stern is portrayed in Cosby’s book as a jealous, money-grabbing control freak who manipulates the erratic blond beauty’s celebrity status for his own financial gain.

As her life spun out of control after the death of her son, Daniel, last September, Stern kept Anna Nicole hidden from friends and forced the heavily drugged model to sign stacks of paperwork, the book claims.

His alleged “goodie bag” of meds - including Vicodin, Valium, morphine and Demerol - were never far from reach.

“He was the pharmacist and [the bag] was the drugstore,” Anna Nicole’s ex-boyfriend Ben Thompson told Cosby.

I could see these two being lovers, but if anyone is responsible for Anna’s bizarre death it’s Stern, not Birkhead. Birkhead wasn’t around for a reason and even if he may have liked guys too he seemed genuinely fond of Anna to me and to be concerned about how her drug addiction would affect their baby. Anna’s campy personality must have attracted a lot of people of ambiguous sexual orientation.

This book may bring renewed interest into the suspicious circumstances leading up to Anna’s untimely death. Stern was found not responsible for Anna’s demise, but given how he enabled her drug addiction and how his response to her death seemed anything but natural, he shouldn’t have gotten away so easily. He may have even had something to do with the death of her son, Daniel.

Olivier Martinez might be a nasty love rat, but his ex-girlfriend, model Sarai Givati, wants you to know she’d never do the dirty on Kylie Minogue.

“We had a relationship but there was no lying on his part and to my knowledge - and I believe him - there was no overlap between him seeing Kylie and then seeing me,” Givati told London newspaper, The People.

“Looking back now, because of all the hurtful things said about me, I would, maybe, have given more time between the end of his relationship and the beginning of ours because it wasn’t easy for me having people think that I split them up.”

The Israeli model and Martinez, 41, became lovers in the last week of January, a few days before he and Minogue, 39, announced they were parting after four years.

“When I asked him why he had split from Kylie, all he said was: ‘It was time to break up’ and that the relationship had run its course.

“I really didn’t ask more than that.”

The whole way she words this statement kind of sounds like she doesn’t really believe Olivier, and is waiting for him to get caught out. Caught again, since the two of them were photographed together before Kylie and Ollie had split. Some reports have the model involved with Olivier in December.

Then again, maybe Kylie chucked Ollie because he bored her in bed.

“Sex is the most natural thing in the world. When I’m in a relationship, I like lots of it,” she reveals. “I like to be swept off my feet - but I do have a very low boredom threshold!”

Slightly less sexy, but very brave, is that Kylie is trying to beat her biological clock and have a baby. Alone, and after the fertility destroying cancer treatment. Reports say she plans to undergo a ‘revolutionary treatment’ to conceive naturally.

“She has been taking advice on whether she’s physically fit enough and whether medical science is advanced enough for her to consider going ahead with the treatment.”

Kylie, who failed to get pregnant using IVF treatment with ex- lover Olivier Martinez when she was first diagnosed with cancer, is hoping to persuade the actor to start a family - but is willing to raise a child alone.

The source added: “Kylie has been talking to Olivier lately and has raised the subject of getting back together. There’s nothing she would love more - but she wants to do it properly this time and that means having children. They haven’t come to an agreement yet but Kylie is willing to go it alone and be a single mother if that is what it takes.”

Words you never want to hear again: Postal Worker Stalker. Unfortunately for Colin Firth, he’s hearing these words again.

The 45-year-old postal worker was arrested after she begged her bosses to let her deliver to the £2.5 million home of the 46-year-old actor in leafy Chiswick, west London.

The woman is also understood to have posted fake accounts of meeting her idol on an internet site for fans of Firth, perhaps best known for his role as Mr Darcy in the BBC adaptation of Pride And Prejudice.

Firth, who lives in Chiswick with his 37-year-old wife Livia, became a sex symbol and gained an army of female fans after emerging from a lake in skintight breeches in the 1995 Beeb version of the classic Jane Austen novel.

Staff at the obsessed fan’s depot are understood to have raised the alarm after she applied to swap delivery routes with a colleague.

A pal of the actor, who asked not to be named, said: “Colin is normally very at ease with his fans, but he was aware one woman was veering closer to obsession.”

Some reports suggest this isn’t the first time the postal worker has been arrested for the stalking.

If I had a stalker, which is highly unlikely given that I have never emerged sexily from a pond in a wet white shirt and tight breeches, I would be really worried that they had been cautioned twice. And that they continued to be employed by the Royal Mail. Where they might be able to touch my mail, or even do something unsavoury to it. Actually, any postal worker could probably do that. I wonder if they do?

Colin Firth is currently filming Mama Mia the musical movie, where he plays a British banker who might be homosexual. He’ll be warming up his pipes, singing the hit music of ABBA, to tell the tale of a bride-to-be who is unsure of the identity of her father. The potential candidates for fatherhood are Colin, Pierce Brosnan, and Stellan Skarsgård. Which is a combination I doubt we’ll ever see in a real life paternity battle.

I wonder if singing the hit music of ABBA would be enough to put off a potential stalker? I think a compulsion to burst into ABBA songs would be a deal breaker in many relationships.

Both Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman are potential cover girls for the December issue of Vogue. Tom Cruise’s ex and the woman said to be the mother of his youngest child both have movies that are coming out around the release of the issue and are in contention for the coveted spot on the cover.

Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman are battling to be Vogue’s face for December, Star has learned. Nic, who’ll be promoting the children’s fantasy movie The Golden Compass that month, did very well for the magazine last year, a Vogue insider tells Star. Still, Katie, who’ll be promoting the indie heist flick Mad Money, “is a fresh subject who is worth exploring,” adds the insider. Stay tuned!

I bet they give it to Katie. Nicole Kidman’s latest film, the thriller remake The Invasion, tanked at the box office. Katie is married to Tom now and despite the fact that he’s a cult figurehead, he’s head of Paramount United Artists (thanks Jen) and is mighty powerful. Kidman is hitched to a country star with a known drug and alcohol problem, albeit one he may have recently conquered. With the Katie story they can always play up the mom angle given that Suri is so damn cute in all the photo ops recently. Other moms will eat that up. Nicole doesn’t have much that normal women can relate to, except for the fact that her husband is a f’up.

There was a story a short while ago that Anna Wintour loved Amy Winehouse’s new album and was keen to get her on the cover of Vogue. It turns out that Winehouse didn’t make the cover, and was included in a supplement by the Conde Nast company called Fashion Rocks. Maybe Amy’s recent mess cost her a Vogue cover, but it’s unknown if she was actually being considered for it, or if it was just a rumor. [Details from Jezebel]

Move over Kate Moss.

The once famous face of sexy lingerie line “Agent Provocateur,” has been replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who I think looks absolutely phenomenal in these photos for the ad campaign.

Some seem to be questioning Provocateur’s choice to use Gyllenhaal, but if you’ve ever seen her in the film, “Secretary,” where her character is that of a mousy, plain girl who tranforms into a sex kitten, then these ads should come has no surprise.

Serena Rees, co-founder of Agent Provocateur, said:

“Maggie is not an obvious sex symbol. She is interesting looking, confident and beautiful in a way that is non-threatening, which makes her appealing to men and women alike.”

The images are part of ‘Lessons in Lingerie, the first in a collection of books entitled The Adventures of Miss A.P. The next episode in the series, ‘Lady of the Manor, will be released in November.

Just when you thought it might be safe to turn on your TV, word on the street is that VH1 has yet another celebreality show in the works - and this time it’s “Celebrity Rehab”! While VH1 tries to keep a tight lid on most of the plans, Scott Acord, a spokesman for the network did reveal that former “American Idol” reject Jessica Sierra will be among those who will appear.

Sierra was at a court hearing last Wednesday where she faced charges of cocaine possession and felony battery stemming from an arrest in April at Hyde Park Cafe in Tampa, Florida, where a patron at the bar said Sierra threw a glass at him, leaving a 3/4 -inch gash over his right eyebrow. According to her attorney, the singer’s prosecution was postponed while she attempts to seek treatment at an undisclosed rehab facility in California.

While VH1 hasn’t confirmed the list of reality rehabbers, rumors speculate that we could see the likes of Andy Dick, Tom Sizemore and even former female pro-wrestler Chyna on the ticket.

No word yet on an air date, but stay tuned - this is bound to get uglier.

Sienna Miller lit into photographers, calling them “rapists,” and dropping F-Bombs all over the place while she was being hounded by photographers during the launch of her new fashion store, “Twenty8Twelve,” in London’s Notting Hill area.

She shouted: “F*** off, you f***ing ****s.”

“See you in court, you f***ing rapists.”

One photographer who was at the launch said he was shocked at the outburst:

“I was quite flabbergasted. We were just doing our jobs, all we were trying to do was get some quotes on how the opening of the shop went and she called us all rapists. It’s an outrageous term to use for such a petty little thing as being at a party and being photographed. It was completely the wrong context to use that word.”

A commenter who posted on the Sun website, said they were one of the photographers who were in attentance as the spectacle went down and what respect the photographer had previous to the tirade is all but gone:

“I was one of the photographers who witnessed Sienna & Rhys’s outburst and any respect I had for either of them has gone now. Sienna in particular is absolutely vile, a nasty piece of work who doesn’t deserve to be placed on a pedestal by anyone. If it weren’t for the fact that she was blessed with good looks, she would have no career because she can’t act to save her life!”

I know she was drunk, especially since photographs have surfaced which show her being escorted on the arms of friends has she tries to walk out, but I think this is a bit much - all this name calling and disrespect for those who really make her famous in the first place. I often wonder what celebs would do if all the photographers just went away. What irks me is they spend years doing whatever it takes to to get people to notice them and then when they finally get what they want, they spend the remainder of their careers telling everyone they just want their “privacy.”
