Jennifer Lawrence in shimmery Calvin Klein at the Vanity Fair party: perfection?

Jennifer Lawrence

Yowza. Jennifer Lawrence killed it at the Vanity Fair Oscar party after her rise (and fall) on the way to claim her gold-plated statuette. This gown is Calvin Klein, and this is how you do shiny and metallic well … unlike Halle Berry’s dress for the evening. Does anyone actually think this dress would have looked better at the awards ceremony itself instead of the poufy Dior ball gown? It would have never happened though because Jlaw’s contractually obligated to wear Dior to most major events now, but a girl can dream.

This was JLaw’s night, and she clearly enjoyed the hell out of herself in this dress that highlighted every curve on her body. Everything about this look — from the fit to the hair and makeup to the simple yet bold jewelry (even the statement ring) — is perfection here. I dare you to find a flaw. Finally, her stylist got it all right at the very last possible moment of the awards season.

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel didn’t look at all like her usual whimsiquirkalicious self in this drab Valentino dress. It’s a pretty dress, but it didn’t jump out and (obnoxiously?) grab you like most of Zooey’s wardrobe. Honestly, she looked kind of miserable, and the dress really swallowed her up. Her new haircut is really cute though!

Zooey Deschanel

Jason Statham

Hot Jason Statham was there with Rosie Huntington-Whitely, who wore a really ugly Valentino couture dress. So many ruffles, and so many layers, and so much pink. Not only was the dress pink, but Rosie pinked up her mood lips too. The choker portion of this getup looks very uncomfortable as well. At least Jason looked good, but it’s pretty hard to mess up a tux. Guys are so lucky that way.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely

Leslie Mann

Leslie Mann wore a red-orange Andrew Gn gown with long sleeves and an understated plunge to the neckline. I think she looked really great here! Even though she’s totally covered up, Leslie managed to look both sexy and sophisticated due to the great fit of this dress. Her hair and makeup are typical of her usual style, but they’re still gorgeous here. This is how to be alluring while not letting one’s rack fall out all over the red carpet.

Jason Statham covers Men’s Fitness: would you hit it or not so much?

Jason Statham

Jason Statham covers the February issue of Men’s Fitness to promote Parker, which co-stars Jennifer Lopez and is pretty much a lost cause because it’s the only Statham movie that is not-quite Stathamy, and that’s a bloody shame. One could also blame Jennifer Lopez, of course, for the promise that she once showed in her early acting career (U Turn, Out of Sight) has sadly been missing since the days of Gigli and her default romcom fallback status. To be perfectly truthful, she didn’t ruin Parker (which needed no help in ruining itself), but her presence certainly didn’t help matters.

Nevertheless, the mighty Statham will probably regain his tough guy mojo in short order, but for now, he’s giving some lip service to his career idols in this interview. He also apparently enjoyed working alongside JLo too and says she’s not a diva at all like her reputation would suggest. Is he merely being diplomatic, or has Jennifer changed since the days of Marc Anthony (and before as well)?

Jason Statham

His influences: “There’s Bruce Lee and then, of course, there’s Sly.”

His onscreen heroes: “Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood. It’s funny, most of my onscreen heroes are sort of the ones of yesteryear. I just thought they had a bit of a laid-back coolness to them.”

On working with Jennifer Lopez: “In Hollywood, people get reputations, just rumors that are passed down. She couldn’t have been nicer, more pleasant person to work with. She was just fantastic. She was just like a bubbly young girl. That’s what I remember about her – just a beam of light. I loved working with her.”

On his future: “I never look too far forward. Will I be here the next 10 years, 20 years – 2 years? It’s a day-at-a-time thing for me.”

[From Men's Fitness]

Hmm. Maybe the rumors are true that Jennifer really was trying to get in Statham’s pants while they shot the movie. That’s really the only explanation I have for this little oddity. Jennifer may very well be “a beam of light” when she’s feeling the warmies for some dude.

Sadly, this photoshoot (other than the cover) just isn’t doing it for me, but I’d still gladly do the Statham. Much like the Cumberbatch, he’s better in motion and when you can hear his voice. The main difference between the voices is that Cumberbatch is a posh darling, and Statham rides with a fetching Cockney accent. Both of them share the same level of intensity though.

Leonardo DiCaprio tried to get with Rosie Huntington- Whiteley, of course

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio covers the February issue of August magazine, which is a men’s style rag that I’ve never heard of. The cover isn’t the most flattering shot of Leo, but you can see the rest of the shoot, which is slightly better, at Just Jared. I’ll get to some interview excerpts in a moment, but first I wanted to talk about a brand new story about single Leo on the prowl. When he broke up with Erin Heatherton last November, Leo reportedly dated co-star Margot Robbie immediately afterwards, but we haven’t heard much about Margot in at least a month. Since then, Leo has announced an indefinite break from acting, which means that he’s been yachting with Naomi Campell and friends as well as taking time to shoot a Jack Daniels commerical.

In addition, Leo has also apparently been trying to find a new model girlfriend. By now, it’s kind of a joke that Leo’s M.O. consists of ordering his giflfriends from the Victoria’s Secret catalog. He’s been with Gisele Bunchen, Bar Refaeli, and Erin, and rumor has it that he and Miranda Kerr have been flirty and cozy together too. So who else’s dog-eared lingerie shots has Leo been fondling in the bathroom? Well, Rosie-Huntington Whiteley for one, and Jason Statham isn’t having it at all. Here are the details:

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley may be gorgeous but she is very much taken, not that Jason Statham’s girlfriend’s relationship status seemed to bother Leonardo DiCaprio who apparently was spotted trying to chat up the stunning model!

An insider at Harvey Weinstein’s Golden Globes after party has told Now Magazine that ladies man Leo tried to make a move for model Rosie. Hardman Jason, who has been dating Rosie for almost three years, soon shut down the flirting though:

“After some small talk, Leo introduced Rosie to his posse and poured her a glass of bubbly. She seemed interested, but unaware that Leo was smitten,” the source alleges. “When Jason spotted his gal with Leo, he summoned her to his side and didn’t let her out of his sight for the rest of the evening.”

Undeterred, confirmed bachelor Leo apparently just moved onto to another hot girl to continue his flirting. Taking things in his stride, Leo soon made a play for another hot girl.

[From Entertainmentwise]

Atta boy, Jason. The dude might not make movies about thinking, but he’s not stupid. Leo’s reputation as a modelizer definitely precedes him, and if he tries this stunt again, Jason would easily be able to kick Leo’s ass into next July. How funny. Now back to Leo’s interview with August Man, and here are some excerpts:

Why he loves acting: “It’s always an eternal sort of mystery in making movies, and that’s the great fun, challenge, and excitement about doing what I do. As an actor, I do everything possible to tell a great story in a truly artistic way, but at the end of the day you never know how critics and audiences are going to respond.”

On getting older: “I guess the big 4-0 hasn’t entered my consciousness yet. I believe it’s very important to look back on the choices you’ve made and re-analyse where you want your life to go and the things you want to do as an individual. I came from a lower middle-class background where, for me, being an actor never seemed like an achievable dream. Once I got my first opportunity to work on a movie, it’s really been a mad rush to fulfil that dream.”

His goals for the future: “My goal is to keep doing great work? I haven’t stopped yet and hopefully the work will never stop. While I’m here, I will always have that drive to not only produce great work, but to make a difference in the world.”

His back-up career plan “In my adult life, my environmental work and activism remain a priority. I created a foundation that focuses on raising public awareness of the very important issues concerning our planet, our environment, and the impact we as people have on the world we live in? It is not only an extremely fulfilling and gratifying learning experience, but has also taken me to some of the most interesting and beautiful places in the world.”

[From August Man]

I know that Leo is commonly regarded as one of the greatest actors of his generation, but it’s still a bit jarring to see that he also sees himself that way with the “great work” comment. I’d wonder whatever happened to humility, but I guess Leo’s early success and lucky dovetail into Martin Scorsese’s waiting arms (after Robert DeNiro proved to be such a disappointment during recent decades) means that he never has to worry about not having the luxury of choosing from quality scripts.

Just for kicks, here are some older covers from Leo’s appearances in the July 2010 and August 2011 issues of August Man. His face has changed rather rapidly in just a few years, right?

Jennifer Lopez goes solo in Lanvin at the premiere of ‘Parker’: where’s Casper?

These are some photos from last night’s NYC premiere of Parker, that Jennifer Lopez & Jason Statham movie which Jennifer has already compared to Out of Sight (spoiler: it’s not like Out of Sight). Unfortunately, we only have street photos of J.Lo going into the indoor premiere – my guess is that it was originally supposed to be a premiere with an outdoor press line in which everyone could snap photos of Jennifer in her cream Lanvin dress, but it’s SO COLD on the East Coast this week, all of the “fashion photos” were done inside (and we don’t have access to them, so go here to see). I think Jennifer looks great in this white/cream coat – it’s not the most flattering thing ever and you can tell she’s desperate to show off her body, but I bet it’s warm. Her hair looks particularly good here too, right?

Interestingly enough, Casper Smart was not at the premiere. Neither was Jason’s girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but she was around for the after-party and Jason rarely brings her to his premieres, so her absence made sense. But Jennifer trots Casper out for everything! So where was he? LaineyGossip posited a theory that Jason Statham doesn’t care for Casper and he told J.Lo to keep her D-list boyfriend away, which could explain the lack of Casper on this red carpet AND during this week of promotion in NYC, where Jennifer has been photographed going solo a lot. Another explanation? Maybe Jennifer is getting tired of Casper…? Probably not – they just got a dog together. They named him Bear. Because that’s their nickname for each other.

Jason Statham loves to go out drinking with the boys & his girlfriend hates it

Did you know that CB has a thing for bald men? True story! I mean, she’s not a bald fetishist or anything, but she keeps her eye out for attractive bald or balding men. Like, she’s now a Jude Law fan because he’s losing his hair. And she’s really upset that Jason Statham is no longer shaving his half-bald dome. To be fair to her, I don’t think any of us were pleased with Jason’s appearance at the Golden Globes on Sunday. He seems to have a weird stubble all over his face and on the back of his head and it just seems… weird? Gross? Of course, I’m also including some photos of Jason being interviewed on Extra yesterday (photos at the end of the post), and he looks much better there.

While I’m not a huge Statham fan, I understand why women find him attractive – he seems confident, bordering on arrogant. He looks like a man who knows what he wants, sexually, professionally and otherwise. That’s an attractive quality to many women. So if Jason Statham wants to go out drinking with his boys, he’s going to go out drinking with his boys and his girlfriend, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, isn’t going to have a deal with it. But Rosie is trying to get him to pay more attention to her! Poor Rosie.

Could Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley be headed for a split?

RadarOnline.com spied the pair bickering at the Weinstein Golden Globes party in Los Angeles last Sunday after the 25-year-old Burberry model was fuming that the movie tough guy was worse for wear after guzzling too much Moet & Chandon champagne.

“Rosie hates it when Jason acts like one of the lads and goes out drinking,” the pal revealed. “She thinks his friends are a bad influence on him, and she doesn’t like it when he gets wasted.”

And a close pal to the pair has exclusively told RadarOnline.com that Rosie has warned Jason, 45, that he will lose her if he continues his partying ways!

“When he first started dating Rosie, he curtailed his wild nights out to spend time with her because he wanted to give the relationship a chance,” the source said. “But more recently, Jason’s been having nights out with the boys and not returning home to the early hours of the morning, which infuriates Rosie.

“So, she put her foot down and told Jason that if he’s serious about her he has to curb his partying or she will leave him. Their relationship is really hanging on by a thread at the moment,” the pal divulged.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Rosie was spotted flirting with hunky Dutch actor Soren Hojen at hip Hollywood hangout Sayer’s Club back in October.

“She wouldn’t stop staring at him. She was obviously trying to get his attention — moving her hips and running her hands through her hair. But he still wasn’t noticing her. So she ordered her friend to go up to him and tell him that Rosie thinks he’s cute,” an eyewitness said.

“The friend obliged, and when Soren looked up to see who the friend was referring to, his eyes practically popped out of his head! Rosie smiled, but then Soren said he had a girlfriend, and went back to his friends.”

[From Radar]

Yeah. Jason is 45 years old. He’s set in his ways. He likes doing whatever he likes, and he hasn’t felt the need to change thus far, so Rosie probably won’t change him. And whatever he’s doing works – he’s currently with a 25-year-old Victoria’s Secret model, for God’s sake. And he’s previously dated Kelly Brook and other young, beautiful women. If Rosie leaves him, my guess is that he’ll be able to get another young, beautiful girlfriend at the drop of a hat. Poor Rosie.

Is Jason giving anyone else Bruce Willis (in a good way) vibes in these photos?

Did Rosie Huntington- Whiteley dump Jason Statham because she didn’t get a ring?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Jason Statham

We haven’t heard much from either Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham in ages, it seems. She’s been shooting that ill-fated Mad Max reboot, and he’s probably been busy filming a million Statham-y action movies. Neither one of them has had occasion to walk a red carpet in several months, so there’s not really any red-carpet evidence of them together in recent days.

Now a new story in Star would have us believe that there is trouble in mood-lip paradise. About six months ago, Star got a tip that Rosie was pressuring Jason to put a ring on it or else, and it seems that he hasn’t done that. As a result, Rosie is allegedly pissed off and has called off the relationship. Here’s the story:

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Jason Statham

Another couple bites the dust. Even though she’s one of the hottest supermodels in the world, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham have split, according to an insider, because he refused to commit. “It was almost a year ago that she gave him a marriage ultimatum,” says the source. “But she’s finally accepting that it’s not going to happen.”

The couple, who had been dating for two years, spent the summer apart. Jason, 45, was in New Orleans filming Homefront whilte Rosie, 25, was filming Mad Max: Fury Road in L.A. “I always see myself working, but being a mom will be a big part of me,” Rosie, an English native, recently said. And now that she’s thrown him off, it’s taking all her willpower to not give in to his attempts to get her back.

“She’s heartbroken and has been sitting on the couch with her dog, watching movies,” says the source. “Jason keeps calling, and she wants to pick up the phone so badly — but she’s trying to white-knuckle through. The nights are the hardest, so she usually just turns her phone off.”

[From Star, December 24, 2012]

Yuck. No good will ever come from pressuring someone else to get married unless one wants to virtually guarantee a few years of resentment before landing in divorce court. If this story is true, Rosie would be better off moving on and finding someone else who isn’t so commitment shy. Is she still a Victoria’s Secret model? Then Leonardo DiCaprio might be a decent (albeit not long-term) jumpoff.

Also, someone please tell me why the Statham wasn’t hired to play Jack Reacher instead of the ridiculously inept Tom Cruise. What a cinematic crime.

Winona Ryder’s new ombre hair extensions: genuinely cool or too trashy?

Winona Ryder

Here’s some photos of everyone’s true love, Winona Ryder, on the New Orleans set of Homefront, and while it’s great to see her at work on a movie, that hair is giving me absolute fits because it looks so not very Winona-like. Those are some wild and wavy ombre extensions, which are all the rage for Hollywood starlets while playing characters who can be found at the margins of society with Jessica Alba, Rooney Mara, and Selena Gomez all recently taking the plunge by way of either extensions or wigs (and of course, Lea Michele and Jessica Biel do ombre just for the hell of it too). Winona usually keeps to her sleek, black hairstyles, so it’s kind of strange to see her like this, but it’s only for a movie, right?

Winona Ryder

In the film, Winona plays the tough, biker-girl sidekick of a methamphetamine drug lord portrayed by James Franco (naturally), who is mercifully not present in these photos because I don’t think I could handle his pretention at this very moment while taking in the shock of Winona’s wild new hair. Oddly enough, this is not the Ryder-Franco movie that we heard about a year ago, which means that now there are two of them. Winona had best be careful, or she’ll find James hiding in her trailer whilst taking photos of her butt and calling it AAART. Fortunately, Jason Statham was present on the set, so we do have a picture of him, and his hair never changes.

Jason Statham

Winona was also smoking a lot on the set, but it’s unclear whether she was actually indulging for herself or for her crazy, ombre character. I’m guessing the correct answer here is “both.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Jason Statham: “Put a ring on it or else”

This story is for those determined and vocal Jason Statham fan-girls. I am not one of you, but I will be your Statham-crack-dealer. I will provide you with the necessary material to hate on Jason’s girlfriend of more than two years, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. For the record, I actually like Rosie. I hear she was dreadful in that Transformers movie (which I never saw), but I’ve grown to love her style, and she seems like a nice, fun girl. Anyway, Rosie is 25 and Jason is 44. Neither have been married before – Jason has actually been in a string of long-term relationships, and I suspect that he’s a serial monogamist who flees at the first hints of “pushing a commitment”. So if this Star Mag report is true, Jason Statham might be single again by the end of the summer.

Most men would kill to have Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on their arm. But her beau of two-plus years, Jason Statham, 44, is taking his sweet time putting a ring on her finger – so now she’s threatening to walk, an insider tells Star.

“Rosie is very serious about this. They’ve been together long enough to take their relationship to the next level. She doesn’t want to just be ‘the girlfriend’ for years, only to get dumped later for a younger woman.”

Rosie, 25, has also begun to feel her biological clock ticking in a big way. And she’s eager to become a mom like her pal Miranda Kerr, who has a 16-month-old son, Flynn, with husband Orlando Bloom.

“Miranda is so happy, and she’s urging Rosie to ask for what she really wants from Jason,” says the insider. “She’s told him she needs a proposal by this summer – and that she doesn’t want a long engagement either!”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

I dislike hearing about a 25-year-old whose “biological clock is ticking in a big way.” You are 25 years old!!! Chill out, it will happen. But every girl is different, and maybe Rosie does want to settle down and start a family right now, and she thinks Jason is The One. Unfortunately, I bet if she ever really did issue an ultimatum, he would laugh and walk away and there would be a line of Victoria’s Secret models waiting to take Rosie’s place. Ugh.

Jason Statham at the London premiere of ‘Safe’: would you hit it?

Here are some photos of Jason Statham at the London premiere of his latest shoot ‘em up film, Safe. I’m assuming the plot involves Jason running around, punching and shooting people, then grinding his teeth provocatively in a profile shot. You can read Bedhead’s review of the film here at Pajiba – beware, there are some plot spoilers! I mean, if you really go to see Statham films for plot.

Anyway, we get some requests for more coverage on all things Statham, so here you go – premiere photos. I wish he had taken off his sunglasses. He looks fine with the sunglasses and everything, but at some point on the red carpet, he should have taken them off so photographers could get a variety of photos. But! The man does know how to wear a suit. I wonder if his model girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley helps him in the wardrobe department?

Usually, I find myself struggling to see the appeal of The Statham. He’s the like the budget, British version of Bruce Willis in my mind, only Bruce has a history of turning in surprisingly solid, moving and gifted dramatic performances too, where Statham’s acting credibility is a bit light.

So… Jason Statham: would I, personally, hit it? Probably not. But I doubt he’d want me either. His ex-girlfriends are beautiful (Kelly Brook!) and his current squeeze is a Victoria’s Secret model. He likes ‘em young and leggy and pin-up-y. Which kills any attraction I would have for him. Still, more Statham for you ladies…

Jason Statham covers Details Mag, talks Kim Kardashian & H’wood issues

Jason Statham covers the April issue of Details Mag. All we have right now from the photo shoot is the cover – my apologies. Details hasn’t released anything on their site, so I’m just going with Page Six’s excerpts of the cover interview. I have to admit – I kind of lost interest in Jason after I read an interview that he and Clive Owen did together last year. Jason just came across as one of those angry little guys, always looking to pick a fight with whomever is sitting in front of him. Maybe he was just trying to show off for Clive, I don’t know. But it was a turnoff. So how weird is it that in this interview, Jason misses a chance to bitch about the Kardashians? He was asked if he considers himself a “brand” and he merely name-checks the Kardashians and leaves it at that. Daniel Craig and Jon Hamm went a lot further – maybe Jason just doesn’t like to pick fights with girls.

Following Jon Hamm’s slicing comments, another Hollywood heavyweight is weighing in on the Kim Kardashian brand. When Details asked Jason Statham, the reigning king of action films — and boyfriend of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley — if he thought of himself as a brand he said, “F–k no, why should I?”

When asked if he believes people see earnings of $30 million a film as a “brand in need of management,” Statham replied, “F–k ’em. Kim Kardashian’s a brand.”

Statham went on to talk about his past as a street hustler in South London and how it prepared him for Hollywood. He said, “See, it’s that necessity for a bargain, that relentless thirst for a discount, that let me create the illusion. That’s what we played on, and, you know, that’s all I ever really knew … So much of this industry is buried in bulls–t. You’re pretending to be something onscreen, fine. But it’s also the way it plays out here, every day. ‘Yeah, we love you, can’t wait to put you in a movie’. It’s f–king bulls–t. Not to be entirely negative, mind you, because there’s so much talent here, so many people that are righteous. But believe me, there’s so much that ain’t, and you see that coming in so thick. I did it for a living. I see it before it enters the room. And usually I know just to point my compass elsewhere.”

On getting an agent, he added: “F–kin’ useless that was.”

And, on drama school: “Not for me.”

And he described the surfing analogy he uses for an acting career, “They’re all waiting for that wave, but it may never come, so they take what’s offered, paddle back out.”

But he adds, “I’m two, three duds from being back on the street. Of course I’m looking for the perfect vehicle, a more intellectual action film, perhaps.”

[From Page Six]

Yeah. He wasn’t insulting Kim Kardashian, he was just pointing out the difference. He’s not interested in having a Statham-branded cologne or designing a line of jeans. He just wants to act in action films. Whose career do you think he admires? I’m thinking Bruce Willis, right? No one ever says Bruce Willis, but there are certainly worse examples of “action stars with substance.” It will be interesting to see if Jason ever tries to do what Bruce did mid-career – which is try out his dramatic chops. Bruce was successful. But I’m not sure Jason could be.
