I was going to make this post about Victoria Beckham and how she got a haircut, but then I saw these photos and now that’s over. OMG OMG OMG Harper Seven deigns to wear baby jeans!! And not just any jeans – baby skinny jeans!! This is the first time I think I’ve ever seen Harper in jeans or anything kind of sporty and NOT frilly. Did David dress her this morning? Why do I think that David is the one putting Harper in frilly things to begin with? No, I think we have to accept that Victoria decided that today was the day to put Harper Seven in skinny jeans. Harper looks jazzed about it too, doesn’t she?

Anyway, these are pics of Posh and Harper at the Eurostar station in London – they were traveling to Paris to see David on his birthday, which is today. Happy birthday, Goldenballs! You can’t even see where Posh has had her hair cut, right? She posted photos a few days ago of her hair stylist giving her some kind of rock n roll bob, but I think she’s had extensions put back in?

It’s baa-aack! Victoria Beckham’s Posh bob, aka The Pob, has been revived. The former Spice Girls singer tweeted a shot yesterday of her newly-shorn locks. “Loving the hair! Thank u Tina Outen,” she wrote to her London stylist.

The Pob was Beckham’s signature look during her Spice Girls tenure, but she has most recently sported a more casual L.A.-friendly hairstyle: long, layered tresses. Now that she’s moved to Paris — husband David Beckham signed a new soccer contract with Paris St Germain — perhaps she was feeling a need for more sophisticated ‘do.

This latest reincarnation of her trademark hairstyle seems to be longer than her original Pob, which was chin-length in the front and buzzed shorter in the back. In fact, it may be more like the Karlie, the longish bob named after model Karlie Kloss and declared by the New York Times as the “the haircut of the year.” Other stars who’ve cut their tresses into a similar style this year include Nicole Richie, Naomi Watts, Nikki Reed, Jennifer Lawrence, Felicity Huffman, and Jaimie Alexander.

The mom of four kids spoke on Apr. 28 at the Vogue Festival in London about juggling her busy life and how she’s perceived by others. “I’m nice! Everyone thinks I’m going to be a cow,” she quipped. “I understand it, actually. I think the same when I see the pictures.”

Yeah. But then look at these photos. I really think she’s had some extensions put back in. Maybe the whole reason she got a haircut in the first place was to take out a bad weave or some extensions? I don’t know. Baby skinny jeans.

These are photos of Victoria Beckham at Vogue festival in London with eldest son Brooklyn in tow, which is nice because I’m sure Brooklyn appreciates some one-on-one mommy time. He may not get much of that since he has three younger siblings. I’m guessing that Victoria is wearing one of her VB creations here, and oddly enough, she appears to be drowning in her own skirt. Perhaps that’s an intentional look. I hope so because Victoria’s obsession with her waistline couldn’t possibly take her down to a lower weight without severe health consequences in the long run.

Miss Posh gave a delightful talk at this event, and she spoke of her difficulties as an up-and-coming designer while struggling to fulfill her duties as a mother to four children. She admits that trying to “do it all” often leaves her feeling “constantly guilty.” Here are some excerpts of her speech:

She feels so guilty juggling work & motherhood: “I think you feel so torn, don’t you? But I’ve got great people who handle my schedule and everything does revolve around the children. So, if there’s a parents’ night or an Easter bonnet parade or a nativity play, whatever it might be, then I plan everything around that so I can always be there.”

She thinks she’s a nightmare bosss: “I’m a perfectionist, I like everything to be right. I’m probably a complete pain in the neck to work with because it is really important to me because I’ve grown this brand from nothing to where it is now.”

Fashion is her passion: “There’s a lot of people here, I hope I’m going to say something good now. I’ve always wanted to be involved in the fashion industry, I felt it in my tummy. At the beginning there was a lot of raised eyebrows, or those that could raise their eyebrows. When I started, i did one-on-one presentations, I’d talk for hours to people who didn’t even speak English. I think a lot of people probably thought, ‘Shut up, stop going on about a bloody grosgrain waistband!’”

Will she ever do London fashion week? “I’d never say never to showing in London, but I’ve got a great thing going in New York. Maybe one day.”

I giggled a bit at the thought of Posh saying the word, “tummy” — she’s so funny. Also, I appreciate Victoria admitting that she feels guilty while “doing it all” but being unable to stop (even though surely Isla Fisher and Drew Barrymore would say that Posh should just give up). Certainly, VB has a pretty high work ethic if she can force herself to work long hours even though David clearly makes enough money to support the entire family plus a small country full of orphans as well. At the same time, the Beckham children do seem rather well adjusted, and they’re often spotted with their parents. Posh is just fine, and so is her family. Guilt is a wonderful means of checking balances though.

I wasn’t going to write about Victoria Beckham’s 39th birthday until I saw this Twitter photo. I think it was one year ago when Victoria Beckham tweeted another photo of her birthday celebration, and her birthday reward was… a fruit plate. So for this birthday, Victoria got an actual birthday cake and she tweeted the above photo of said cake. Note that we are not actually seeing her take an actual bite of a piece of cake. That’s because NO. That’s because Victoria’s birthday present to herself was looking at the cake. Not eating it. One must never eat the cake. Even looking at the cake adds too many calories!! If you think about calories, you will get fat, in Victoria’s mind. And in Victoria’s mind, fat = size 2.

Posh and her whole family celebrated her birthday in London with a nice dinner at Nobu earlier this week. All of the kids were spotted with her – half the family had just flown in from LA. Listen to how time flies: Posh’s oldest kid, Brooklyn, is 14 years old now. When did that happen? Romeo is 10, Cruz is 7 and Harper is one and a half I think. When Posh tweeted the header photo earlier today, she included the message: “Thank u for all your kind messages fashion bunnies, I had such a special birthday x v”. Is “fashion bunnies” the new thing and no one told me? I like it! You bitches are fashion bunnies.

These are photos of the Family Beckham yesterday. First they were in Notting Hill, having a celebratory birthday lunch for Cruz. Then the whole family boarded the EuroStar to Paris. It seems like Harper Seven was attached to her daddy for the entire day. I wonder if she slept on him during the train ride too? Because I’m including a photo of the Beckhams’ arrival IN Paris, and David is still holding his baby girl. Funny story: Harper was the only Beckham who got to arrive in Paris with a fresh costume change. Everybody else just kept on their London clothes. But not Harper!! I wonder if her daddy changed her into her super-cute Parisian outfit?

Meanwhile, Victoria was wearing one of her own designs from her Fall/Winter line, which was just shown at New York Fashion Week last week. Posh got flat-out RAVE reviews for the collection too, which was funny/great. I looked through the runway photos, and while I can definitely see how Posh’s line is becoming more sophisticated (and wearable, oddly enough), I also think she’s getting away from the more Roland Mouret-ish design tropes. Mouret helped her launch her line, and the first few seasons looked very much like Mouret’s designs. But she’s finally getting away from that and coming into her own. Which is good. Now everyone is wondering if she’ll start to show at Paris Fashion Week rather than NYFW. I don’t know…?

Also: why does Harper look so pouty? I love her chubby little face. But why is she pouting? Does she get that from her mother?

Victoria Beckham covers the March issue of Elle UK, and she’s wearing all Burberry here. If your reaction was anything like mine, I wondered, “Why does Posh look like she has three arms in this picture?” This effect is definitely the result of awkward posing on VB’s part and the very structured jacket chosen by the shoot’s stylist. Victoria’s hair looks nice and lush throughout the editiorial, but I have to wonder if she’s got extensions on her side as she has in the past. The interview excerpts released thus far aren’t terribly exciting except that Victoria talks about how she thinks nobody ever pays any attention to her. If she wasn’t so funny and self-deprecating in most of her interviews, I’d call bullsh-t on this particular quote, but I think she might actually believe it:

She delegates in her fashion line: “You’ve got to trust people. And because I am a control freak, sometimes that’s difficult for me, because I want to micro-manage absolutely everything. I can’t hand over. But I’m trying to do that more. It’s hard because I have such a specific vision.”

It’s not all about her? “When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, ‘They’re here to take David’s picture.’”

On her work ethic: “I don’t have to work, I need to work. But I have a good work ethic. David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.”

You know, I do appreciate that Victoria isn’t the typical WAG. She could easily stay at home and do absolutely nothing and also have nannies completely raise her children. Instead, she’s been building her own little fashion empire, and she and David appear to be very hands-on parents to their four children. Somehow, Victoria escapes the fate of sounding like Goop braging about her amazing work ethic. Posh basically leads a very charmed life, I think, but she is unexpectedly likable as well.

Morrissey hates the Chinese people. He hates them so very much. But not as much as he hates the royal family, and that hatred pales in comparison to his rage-loathing specifically of Duchess Kate. That was the last time we covered Morrissey too – go here to read his analysis of Duchess Kate’s pregnancy and how Dr. Morrissey believed that she was never really sick. He’s not just a ball of hate, he’s also a rather brilliant (brilliantly awful) conspiracy theorist. Here’s what I didn’t know, though: Morrissey also has a blinding hatred for run-of-the-mill celebrities and athletes. Shocking!! In a recent interview, he took Victoria and David Beckham to task, because the Beckhams apparently whizzed in his organic cornflakes.

Victoria and David Beckham are about as close to royalty as you can get in the U.K. without an actual crown, but there’s at least one Brit who doesn’t bow down to their throne: singer Morrissey.

To say that the outspoken musician is not a fan of the couple would be a huge understatement. He recently let loose some choice words for the two during an interview with Loaded magazine (via the Daily Mail).

“I’d…have the Peckhams dragged to the edge of the village and flogged,” he snapped, intentionally mispronouncing their names. “They are insufferable to anyone of intelligence, and they actively chase the paparazzi.”

But they’re not the only ones to blame for their elevated status, the 53-year-old continued. “We don’t seem to realize that David and Victoria Peckham will soon be back, and God forbid they will be bestowed with titles Sir and Lady Peckham,” he said pointedly of rumors that the couple and their four kids may relocate back to London from Los Angeles. “This is what’s wrong with this country, we don’t seem to care.”

The soccer star, 37, and his fashion designer wife of 13 years, 38, are not Morrissey’s first targets. In December, the musician took aim at Kate Middleton, saying that she was responsible for the suicide of hospital nurse Jacintha Saldanha, who was tricked by two Australian DJs into helping reveal details about the pregnant Duchess’ condition.

“It wasn’t because of two DJs in Australia that this woman took her own life — it was the pressure around her,” he told New Zealand’s 3News, adding that he believed Middleton was in the hospital “for absolutely no reason” and felt “no shame” about Saldanha’s death. “The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering.”

Did I build that up to much? Because as I really look at what Morrissey said… it’s not like he threw a flaming pile of dog poop at them, you know? He could have said much, much worse things about the Beckhams. Like, he could have mentioned that David may or may not have a wandering dong. He could have said something about eating disorders. I’m just saying… he had more material to work with, and he didn’t go there. He didn’t go personal, he went socio-economic, he went with a rather old-fashioned threat of violence. Yes, this could have been much worse.

These are new photos of the family Beckham over the weekend. Victoria and daughter Harper Seven arrived on a flight from London to LA on Saturday, and then on the same day David Beckham played his last game (ever?) with the LA Galaxy. I don’t think Victoria and Harper made it in time to see the game, but it looks like David and Victoria’s three sons were on hand to watch their dad’s final LA game. They came on to the field after the Galaxy won and David hugged and kissed them and draped a Union Jack around his shoulders. It seems like David was emotional, as I think he probably really was. This isn’t for show… I believe that he probably has mixed feelings about leaving the Galaxy, mostly because I think he and his family were really, really happy living in LA.

But it doesn’t necessarily follow that David and his family are going to completely leave LA. We don’t really know what David’s next move will be, although there are significant rumors that it involves a move back to England. The Mail has some new theories:

They’re remaining tight-lipped about their plans for the future. But David and Victoria Beckham have set tongues wagging after they were reportedly spotting evening up properties in the exclusive Ham Common area of Richmond.

Sparking rumours that the world famous family are preparing to move back to Britain, Victoria has been visiting schools and potential homes. The footballer played his last game for LA Galaxy on Saturday, but is yet to reveal whether or not the family will be leaving the US. The family still have their £18 million mansion in Hertfordshire, but could be looking to add another UK property to their portfolio.

According to The People, the Beckhams are looking to set up home again in the UK, and it seems that Richmond could be the perfect place to do it. Victoria has reportedly already viewed a townhouse in the salubrious Ham Common area and is believed to be in the process of making an offer.

The 38-year-old fashion designer, who splits her time between the US and the UK, was also spotted having a tour of the nearby Harrodian School with her sons. The exclusive £6,000 a term school is best known for its famous alumni including Robert Pattinson, Tom Sturridge and Caggie Dunlop, so the Beckham boys certainly wouldn’t feel out of place.

Victoria might be swayed by the calibre of neighbours she would have in the upmarket area, which includes MP Zac Goldsmith and The Who guitarist Pete Townshend.

For his final match David was joined on the field by sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz who took part in the team presentation before the start of his Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup match. The footballer is believed to be returning to Europe to play for at least two seasons, but the family’s plans are yet to be announced.

If Victoria is checking out schools and looking at real estate in England, then that’s where they’re going now. That’s what she did when they came to LA – she came out first, bought a house and checked out the schools and everything, and then David and the kids moved out there a few months later. So… how do you feel about the Beckhams leaving America? I’m a little sad. I thought they liked it here.

As Hurricane Sandy (that bitch) makes her way through the Eastern seaboard, I can just feel the gossip stories becoming waterlogged and useless. Prepare yourselves – it’s probably going to be slow this week, gossip-wise. CB and I are affected by Sandy too – both of our towns are going to be pounded hard tonight (that’s what she said!). Anyway, that’s just a little explanation for why I’m covering these photos of the Family Beckham yesterday. They were all at David’s LA Galaxy game in LA. Victoria and the kids were in their box, and they had some celebrity friends sharing the space too, like Gordon Ramsey and Russell Brand. You can see more photos here, at the Mail. At one point, Russell is sitting next to Victoria and Harper and I swear, Russell’s face just says to me, “I am not into babies at all.”

Anyway, I know how much everyone loves photos of baby Harper. Harper looked super-stylish in her little red dress and rooster tail, and she seemed to actually be paying attention to the game. I can’t wait to see what kinds of things she’s into as she grows up – will she be a tomboy, content to play soccer with her dad and her brothers? Or will Victoria get a little girly-girl who doesn’t want to ever get her pretty dresses dirty?

Meanwhile, last week Victoria co-hosted a CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund event in Beverly Hills… and Anna Wintour was her co-host! What are the chances that Anna Wintour would give Victoria a Vogue cover… with baby Harper?

I am your baby-photo enabler. I will give you your fix of Harper Seven Beckham, always. It’s gotten to the point where even I – a person of general ambivalence towards children – squeal whenever we get in new photos of Harper Seven. These are new pics of Harper and her mom in NYC yesterday. Look at how long Harper’s hair is! I like that Posh isn’t cutting her daughter’s hair. Yet. I mean, I’m sure that when Harper gets a haircut, she gets a proper baby-blowout at some fancy salon and the whole thing costs $700. But I’m just saying, it’s cute seeing such long hair on a baby.

I love Harper’s blouse too – can you see the detailing on it? There’s some puckering and pleating on the front which is absolutely adorable. Actually… maybe it’s a mod little long-sleeved shift dress? Because I think Harper paired it with black tights and black ankle booties (of course, so fashion-forward!) and no pants. So this might actually be a dress, which somehow makes it cuter. *takes style notes*

Fame/Flynet says that Harper and Posh spent the day together, shopping in NYC. Apparently, they hit up Prada, Baby Gucci (of course!), Miu Miu and then got some groceries at Grisedes. I think Posh must be having the time of her life these days – she’s got this adorable baby girl to dress up day after day. This is what she’s always wanted. Harper is her doll! And Harper is a doll. She’s gorgeous!

PS… OMG Harper is wearing a pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness month. Stylish and socially conscious! Harper is THE BEST.

PPS… Posh’s heels are cray. I wouldn’t be able to walk in those damn things.

These are a few photos of Victoria Beckham’s photo shoot for Elle France. She was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld at 31 Rue Cambon, the home of Chanel (in Paris). She’s wearing her own designs on “the iconic Chanel staircase”. Is it just me or does Karl Lagerfeld need to STOP calling himself a photographer? He really doesn’t have a “photographic eye” – while Posh isn’t a supermodel or anything, these photos are extraordinarily boring even for a fashion shoot done by one of the most famous fashion designers in the world. Karl is an icon because he designs for Chanel and because of his hilariously bitchy and grumpy interviews – not because of his photography. Anyway, Posh was thrilled of course. She posted the photos with the message, “First pictures from my ELLE cover shoot with Karl Lagerfeld, a dream come true! X VB … At 31 Rue Cambon wearing my new optical collection on the iconic CHANEL staircase shot by Karl Lagerfeld! X vb”. Here are some highlights from Elle France piece:

Victoria Beckham says French people are “so chic” she sometimes feels like she is from the country. The singer-turned-designer features in the pages of French Elle magazine alongside legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld. The pair are posing at the former home of Coco Chanel, with Victoria gushing about how much the experience meant to her.

“I’m honoured to be here in Paris. I love Paris and the French style, so chic. Sometimes I feel a little bit French myself!” she said.

The star shot the images earlier this year, when she updated her Twitter fans on how much fun she was having. She is seen standing on some stairs next to Karl, with her hair in a demure chignon. She is wearing a black cape and the tiniest of briefs, with her long legs on display. A pair of high shoe boots finish the look.

In another she is seen in the same shorts, this time with a white shift tucked into them. She is wearing eyeglasses – perhaps from her upcoming range – and appears deep in thought.

“I am thrilled to shoot with Karl. I have so much respect for him and I find him so inspiring,” Victoria said. “To shoot in Coco Chanel’s apartment in the clothes of the house of Chanel is really a dream come true.”

Karl is the current creative director of Chanel and is known for his acid-tongue. It seems he has been charmed by Victoria, as he only had kind words for her.

“Victoria has an innate sense of style. She knows what she likes, and knows what is good for her,” he said.

She feels a little French? Should I speak for the French and say, “Posh, please.” First she was the very essence, the very archetype of British WAG-dom, and then she eased that look into a more American-ized, laid-back, un-fussy California style with English-mod influences, and now she’s trying to claim she’s got the soul of a French woman? No, Posh. You do not.

Still, I bet she proud to have been Karl Lagerfeld’s “muse” for a brief moment. Maybe Karl will speak to Anna Wintour on Posh’s behalf.
