Elisabetta Canalis throws a massive hissy fit, gives boyfriend his purse back

It was just yesterday that I was thinking about how much I missed Elisabetta Canalis’s seedy drama. Don’t you miss it? Don’t you miss the white-washing of her Italian past, which consistently involved the words “cocaine” and “hooker”? Don’t you miss Eli’s drag-queen vibe and her Adam’s apple? Don’t you miss her terrible acting and the constant “jobs” that Clooney had to buy for her? Don’t you miss the easy chemistry George Clooney and Eli had together? Well, if you answered “yes” to any of those questions, I have a special treat for you. Over the past few months, Eli has been dating Mehcad Brooks, who I basically only know from that USA show, Necessary Roughness. No one was really interested in who Eli is dating post-Clooney, but Eli still managed to famewhore this relationship to anyone who would listen. And now Radar reports that Eli and Mehcad had a spectacular blow-out, complete with an Eli hissy-fit.

Has yet another Hollywood romance bitten the dust? The relationship between Italian model Elisabetta Canalis and True Blood star Mehcad Brooks appears to have skidded to an abrupt halt following a spat in the lobby of her West Hollywood apartment building Thursday night, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

“Elisabetta and Mehcad were in the lobby obviously fighting with each other,” an eyewitness tells RadarOnline.com. “At first they were trying not to call attention to themselves. But after a few minutes they couldn’t contain themselves anymore and their voices started to escalate.”

The eyewitness continued, “They both became so angry, it was like they were oblivious to the fact that they were out in public: At one point, Elisabetta shoved Mehcad really hard, and he shouted right back at her to stop acting crazy. Finally Elisabetta screamed, ‘Just go! Get out of here!’ and stormed up to her apartment. Moments later, she returned to the lobby carrying an armful of things, which included a Balenciaga hand bag.”

The 33-year-old stunner, according to eyewitness, then dropped the bag on the desk of the building manager with a message for Mehcad, 31.

“She told him, ‘Tell that a**hole to take his s**t and never contact me again’ — then, she turned on her heel and stormed off!

“To say she was angry would be an understatement! I was really surprised by the whole thing, because I saw her wearing what looked like a wedding ring just last week,” the source added. “I thought they were madly in love!”

Elisabetta, who appeared on this season’s Dancing with the Stars, is best known for her previous relationship with George Clooney. Besides True Blood, Mehcad has been seen on Desperate Housewives, Law & Order: SVU and the USA network’s Necessary Roughness.

[From Radar]

Ah, so the Balenciaga hand bag was HIS. Or it was just something he bought for her. I don’t know, this sounds like a planted story, but I’m still enjoying it. I hope Eli knows that the relationship with Mehcad did nothing for her fame-seeking ways. Granted, it would have been difficult for Eli to hook another A-lister – Clooney is pretty much the last A-lister with such bargain-basement tastes. But Eli should have gone for a B- or C-lister with a higher profile, maybe someone with well-known sexual kinks. I’m thinking Jeremy Piven? That would be awesome.

Elisabetta Canalis: Clooney was a father figure who brought out my feminine side

wenn9677174

These are some new photos of Elisabetta Canalis at the GQ Germany “Man of the Year” awards, where she was the escort of Roberto Cavalli. She’s wearing Cavalli too. She looks pretty good, but it’s all kind of meh. She always looks kind of drag queeny to me. Plus, she just looks overly-thrilled to be on a red carpet, getting her photo taken.

Anyway, I think Eli has played her post-breakup, post-Clooney career rather poorly. I understand that she wants to be famous in America, but the way to do that is not through Dancing With the Stars and the odd monthly confessional interview. If I was running Eli’s PR since the beginning, I would have encouraged her to do a big tell-all interview shortly after her split with George Clooney, and I would have encouraged her to give it to the highest profile American publication she could find. Perhaps Vanity Fair wouldn’t have taken her, but she could have gotten a profile in Allure or Marie Claire, and definitely Us Weekly. Instead, Eli seems content to give increasingly strange and damaged-seeming interviews to Italian publications, and her “revelations” about her relationship with Clooney seem increasingly clingy and sad. Here’s the latest:

Bacio and tell?

Elisabetta Canalis, the Italian TV personality who dated George Clooney for two years until their split last June, offers some surprising details about their relationship in Questo Amore (This Love), a new book by Italian journalist Bruno Vespa.

Praising the Oscar winner, 50, as “the person who valued my feminine side the most” and “also one of the best people I have met from a charitable point of view,” Canalis, 33, went on to say, “he has been a special for me, and very important, just as a father would be.”

Asked by Vespa to elaborate, she said, “between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up ’til now.”

As for their breakup, Canalis – who competed on Dancing with the Stars earlier this season, denies reports that Clooney’s long-held aversion to marriage was an issue.

“George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids,” she says. “I don’t put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs.”

Although Clooney has since moved on with another Dancing alum, Stacy Keibler, Canalis has only kind words for him.

“George is a real gentleman even in his private life,” she says. “I was very much respected both as a woman and partner.”

[From People]

Skipping over the “father” stuff briefly, the part that caught my eye initially was that Clooney was “the person who valued my feminine side the most”??? I hope that’s a weird translation, because it makes Elisabetta sound like a total drag queen. Now, going back to the father stuff – that’s the most convoluted way of calling her ex an old fart. Which Clooney is, granted. He is an old fart, and his girls always stay the same age, and yes, at some point it does become more of a father-daughter type relationship. Some people think that’s sick or gross, but… whatever. I understand it.

Still, I don’t believe Eli when she claims that marriage and kids never came up. She wanted to get married. She said so in that now infamous interview, right before Clooney dumped her.

Elisabetta Canalis is papped in Berlin with Mehcad Brooks: give us a break?

wenn9674271
Elisabetta Canalis is still dating former True Blood hottie Mehcad Brooks, 31. I could have sworn that their first date earlier this month was some publicist-arranged outing to help her save face after she got voted off DWTS, and it very well may have been. They’re still enjoying each other’s company or are contracted out for some meager tabloid space though, because they’ve been seen out yet again. She could do a lot worse. I like that she’s going for hot and relatively unknown this time. The dude is doing well for himself and is starring on USA’s “Necessary Roughness,” but it’s not like he’s exceptionally rich or famous.

Anyway these two were in Berlin. I’m in the states now but I lived in Berlin for about four years and I was there all summer. They did the tourist thing in Mitte, and they were photographed by someone they undoubtedly called ahead of time, because no one would even know who they are in Berlin or particularly care. Elisabetta is still trying to be famous, and again at least she is with a guy who is either also using her to be famous too and/or genuinely likes being around her. You would expect her to go for another bigwig.

As I mentioned before, my opinion of Brooks (who we did feature on HGF like three times, I know some of you will ask!) has diminished after this news. BUT he does look happy with Elisabetta, and he looks just as thrilled to get papped as she is. They look like a real couple. What is he doing with his hand in her face though? He’s like going “pow! hahah!” It’s weird.

Would she take Clooney back in a heartbeat though? Probably, although she may realize that ship has passed. She’s not waiting around for him, and she sure wants us to know it.

Elisabetta Canalis spotted out with hot True Blood star Mehcad Brooks

fp_7875185_rij_elisabetta_canalis_28_30

So Elisabetta Canalis got voted off Dancing with The Stars on the second week, followed by another chick who could have just as easily dated George Clooney given his standards, Kristin Cavallari. (Spoilers – oops too late.) In her most recent interview, with In Touch, Elisabetta revealed that she had no real game plan post-DWTS and she may have even hinted that she was ready to return to Italy. She said “I just want to move on… I’m really just doing what I’ve done for years before — my job, and that’s television. I had this opportunity to do my job here in this country.” So did she mean that the opportunity had passed and that she was moving back to Italy? She may have just screwed up the tense or something. (No real offense to her English as I’ve had to speak another language out of necessity and it’s a bitch.)

Elisabetta may have been vague about her plans, but somehow she hatched a classic famewhore move – a date at a Hollywood hot spot! Only she didn’t score an A or B-lister, she was spotted out with a guy who got killed off “True Blood” two seasons ago, Mehcad Brooks. That’s ok, Mehcad makes up in hotness what he lacks in fame. My estimation of him has lowered considerably now that I know he went out with Elisabetta, though. Here’s more:

Mehcad Brooks might be the next George Clooney … maybe … because the “True Blood” star had a romantic dinner with Clooney’s ex Elisabetta Canalis this week … and TMZ has the video to prove it!

The two dined at STK steakhouse in L.A. — and after what seems like a date, they BOTH left in Mehcad’s SUV.

[From TMZ]

TMZ has video of these two getting Mehcad’s car from the valet and when the paparazzi asked how they met he’s all “we didn’t meet, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He smiles and seems happy enough for the attention, though. I guess he’s starring on USA’s “Necessary Roughness” now, so he has another steady gig on television. Maybe he could find some work for Elisabetta! We know how much she wants to be an actress despite lacking even a sliver of talent.

George Clooney defends sad Elisabetta Canalis’s honor, one last time

wenn3534394

I actually feel sorry for Elisabetta Canalis. I have a soft spot in my cold, dead heart for a good “immigrant does well in America” story, and I feel like America was actively rooting against Elisabetta. After all, she has a great ass and she looks like Cindy Crawford in dim light, which was enough to get her George Clooney for two years. And apparently, that’s all Elisabetta gets. She doesn’t get Hollywood, she doesn’t get any more “modeling” jobs, she doesn’t even get cheesy reality-star fame on Dancing With the Starsthe audience couldn’t kick her off soon enough.

So now comes the sad stories about the end of Elisabetta’s “fame” in America. Sure, she’ll still be somebody in Italy – she’s probably even “A list” in Italy. But in America, she’s nothing more than a pushier Sarah Larson with a thick accent. Us Weekly got the ball rolling in this week’s print issue, apparently claiming that Elisabetta sent George Clooney “angry text messages” about his new girlfriend, Stacy “Cray-Cray” Keibler. Clooney took pity on poor Eli and denied the story to TMZ:

George Clooney is doing something he almost never does — commenting about a report on his romantic life … in particular, one that claims his ex-gf sent him angry text messages about his new gf.

The report in the current issue of US Weekly … claims Elisabetta Canalis fired off a series of angry texts to George when she found out he was dating Stacy Keibler.

But George tells TMZ, the story “was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines. I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others…and this lie affects others.”

George added this challenge to US Weekly, “Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth.”

[From TMZ]

Rough. All kinds of rough. If the story is true, poor Eli, and if it’s false (probably), then this was Eli’s last moment with Clooney – when he defended her “honor” as someone who wouldn’t be crazy enough to send nasty test messages, which is setting the bar pretty low. Clooney probably forgot to mention that he changed all of his numbers right after he had security escort Eli off the Lake Como estate.

Meanwhile, Eli gave a sad interview to Life & Style right after she was eliminated on DWTS. This whole thing made me cringe:

After being kicked off Dancing With the Stars on Sept. 27, Elisabetta Canalis wants the world to know one thing: She’s fine and moving on from ex-boyfriend George Clooney.

“I just want to move on,” she tells Life & Style. “I’m really just doing what I’ve done for years before — my job, and that’s television. I had this opportunity to do my job here in this country.”

While on the show, Elisabetta spent most of her time dodging questions about her famous ex. “Yes, he’s my ex-boyfriend and people in this country know me because of him, but…” Elisabetta said after the news of her elimination on last night’s results show.

“George Clooney, George Clooney, George Clooney, George Clooney, George Clooney,” kidded her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, who then asked Elisabetta, “Do you think George Clooney voted for us?”

Very uncomfortably, the Italian beauty replied, “I don’t know. I don’t think anything right now.”

Admitting her surprise at last night’s outcome, Elisabetta reveals to Life & Style, “I think we are paying a little bit for our moods during the rehearsals maybe? I’ve learned that you have to be more diplomatic sometimes. Especially when I’m learning.”

But when it comes to dancing, she’s hanging her up shoes.

“Right now I’m going back to horseback riding,” she tells Life & Style. “I had the best teacher in the world.” And according to Val: “George Clooney approves this interview!”

[From Life & Style]

Ugh. Cringe. Poor Eli. She’s crazy, but I get the feeling Stacy Keibler could out-crazy her any day of the week. My advice for Eli? Go home. Not in a “we’re kicking you out” way, but in a “go see your family, have lunch with friends, lick your wounds” kind of way. Go home for a while, work in Italy, maybe try to really launch yourself as an actress/model/personality in Europe, and then find another nice, rich dude and stop talking about getting married and having babies, because that seems to drive the rich ones away.

fp_7875185_rij_elisabetta_canalis_28_30

I hope Stacy Keibler is watching this mess, because this is her journey in less than a year. I’m giving it six months, actually.

Guess who got voted off DWTS (hint: man face & was replaced by a wrestler)

elisabetta1
Last night was the second week elimination for Dancing with The Stars, and the lackluster Elisabetta Canalis was voted off, despite tying for a respectable fourth in the judges’ scores this week. It looks like Elisabetta just didn’t have the name recognition, the compelling story, the likability or the rhythym to hang in there past the second week. Buh-bye to her. Sadly, David Arquette was in the bottom two after a goofy performance. I hope he brings it next week. Here’s more, from E!

Tonight, Dancing With the Stars said ciao to Elisabetta Canalis and partner, first year pro Val Chmerkovskiy. Canalis had struggled during her two weeks on the show, and when it came down to her and David Arquette on the chopping block, the viewers voted off the Italian beauty.

Unfortunately, Elisabetta and Val do not get to live to dance another week, as they got sent home tonight. “We had bad luck. It makes me sad. I’m sorry because Val was a great teacher. He didn’t deserve that,” she tells us sadly. “You can expect that from me because I’ve never been a dancer in my life, but he’s a champion.”

Her partner Val seemed equally upset over the outcome, more for her sake than his. “It’s not about me, it’s about her. It might sound a little cliché, but I’m not upset with me. I’m upset for her,” he says. “This is not my time to shine. This wasn’t my stage; this wasn’t my competition. I just wish she had another chance to shine.”

Elisabetta also filled us in on her post-DWTS plans, which sound pretty awesome to us. “I will gain weight for sure,” she laughs. “Of course I will not stop doing sports. Maybe I will take a little break from dancing. I’m a little bit sad now.”

[From E! Online]

Aw, her plans are to “gain weight,” meaning she has nothing on the table. Maybe she can do a photo op and plan a clothing line with Christian Audiger that will never materialize.

In related DWTS news, Nancy Grace claims her nip slip on Monday’s episode wasn’t a real nip and told TMZ that the object that was briefly shown on camera was a pasty or nip covering, not her actual nipple. She said “When I got dressed, I was wearing Petals (nipple covers) and an industrial strength bra … my dancing dress also had a bra sewn into it. I have been judged guilty without a trial … I will go to my grave denying the nip slip.” Oh Nancy, you judge people every night on your show, but when it comes to whether your boob popped out you can’t handle the fallout. It’s not like you’re accused of killing someone.

Nancy also denied the boob slip to E! and she went on about it even further, saying “That is not a nipple. That’s going to be on my gravestone. There was no nipple. I certainly don’t want my children to learn to read and read on the Internet that mommy’s a tramp and mommy flashed America! That did not happen. I deny, deny, deny it. You can’t break me. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.” She’s trying to be funny, but she still can’t own up to it. Check out Nancy’s boob here, if that’s a pasty they’re making them look exactly like silicone nipples complete with parts that poke out.

Here are Elisabetta’s two performances on DWTS.

Chaz Bono shows his moves on the Dancing with the Stars premiere

Last night was the big premiere of “Dancing with The Stars,” and a lot of the new contestants really brought it. Most notably, Chaz Bono showed that he learned a thing or two growing up with Sonny and Cher. The judges praised him for his footwork and timing, and he and partner Lacey Schwimmer earned a judges’ score of 17 for their cha-cha, placing them the bottom-middle of the pack. Chaz looked a little nervous to me, and he needs to work on not holding his hand over his belly, but you can tell he put an effort in. David Arquette fared a bit better with a score of 18 for his Viennese Waltz with Kym Johnson. I just loved watching him dance. Here’s more, from E!:

Knowing he was the one that audiences were most anxious to see, producers craftily saved Chaz—the show’s first-ever transgender contestant—for last. But he was definitely not least!

The author and Becoming Chaz star made the most preseason headlines, but he showed up ready to rumble, er, rumba! Under the tutelage of Lacey Schwimmer, Chaz wasn’t the best dancer, but he may have been the most pleasantly surprising.

Not to mention “cute and cuddly,” as Bruno Tonioli duly noted.

Clean-shaven and looking like a teenager, David Arquette waltzed two-time champ Kym Johnson around the floor like a guy with something to prove! (Or at least with someone to impress—daughter Coco and his still legally wedded wife Courteney Cox had front-row seats in the audience.)

And his effort was not wasted, with none other than head judge Len Goodman saying he was “very, very impressed” by what Arquette put out there. Of course, he’s got the energy of an unbridled pony, so he has to tone it down a bit, but the eight-months-sober Scream star had great lines and infectious enthusiasm.

[From E! Online]

There’s more of a recap at E! along with the scores if you’re interested, and we have some of the videos below. (Search on first dance then the celebrity’s name in YouTube for the official videos from ABC.) As in past seasons, I’m sure we’ll be surprised by someone out of left field. This week, Iraqi war veteran and soap star J.R. Martinez tied for first place with singer Chynna Phillips for a high score of 22.

I guess George Clooney’s ex, Elisabetta Canalis, really tanked big time. You can watch her below. She looks like a drunk stripper with those moves and will be voted off in no time.

J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff. Check out the spin at :50. This is the guy to beat.

David Arquette and Kym Johnson. I love his faces!

Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovoloni. She can really dance but there’s something off-putting about her.

Update: oh here’s Carson Kressley. I can’t believe I forgot about him. (Thanks Betsy!) He does the chicken dance at one point!

The screencap below is from a video at Radar that also features the judges’ reactions to Chaz.

Elisabetta Canalis speaks: “I’m looking for men who can give me security”

fp_6146117_lib_canaliselisabetta_press_08_24

Elisabetta Canalis speaks! She spoken before, of course, but the last time she gave any kind of extensive interview, it was the now infamous one where she talked about how she wanted to get married, and soon after, Clooney dumped her. Since the dumping, Elisabetta’s family have spoken, as have many of Clooney’s friends. This is the first time we hear how Eli has been doing – and it sounds like she still wants Clooney back:

George Clooney has moved on — to Stacey Kiebler. And his ex Elisabetta Canalis has also moved on — to Los Angeles and Dancing with the Stars!

Three months after she and Clooney, 50, confirmed their split, the Italian model and TV personality opened up about the end of their two-year romance and its aftermath.

“At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure,” Canalis, 32, tells Italian magazine Chi. “There is nothing ever pretty [in] saying goodbye.”

Multiple pals told Us that Canalis was eager to take her relationship with Clooney to the next level — i.e. marriage — but the Ides of March actor and notorious bachelor balked. (His new romance with Kiebler, 31 — another DWTS alum! — is also going strong, pals told Us.)

Canalis hinted at her side of the story in her freewheeling chat with Chi.

“I’m a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat,” she said. “I’m looking for men who can give me security.”

The beauty added that she might have bad, unhealthy taste in guys. “I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me,” she sniffed. “You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen — it works against you.”

Her Dancing with the Stars gig, it seems, arrived at just the right time.

“The end of a relationship is complicated,” she admitted. “I went to the United States, because at the moment I could no longer face the world. Watching my life being dissected was not easy for me.”

She’s surprisingly discovered peace in Hollywood, though. “Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity. I’ve also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things.”

And Canalis is hopeful about future romantic prospects, too. “In the past I would self destruct when it came to love – I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person.”

[From Us Weekly]

There’s so much! “I’m looking for men who can give me security” = I go with the richest guy I can find. “I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me” = Clooney is cold and controlled, and Eli thought she could change him with love and a great ass, but he still remained “cold”. “The end of a relationship is complicated. I went to the United States, because at the moment I could no longer face the world. Watching my life being dissected was not easy for me” = ???WTF??? Granted, I’ve personally had a lot of fun making fun of Eli and her cocaine and prostitution scandals, and my theories on why and how Clooney dumped her. But Elisabetta could very easily exist anywhere in the world (maybe not Italy, but that’s it) without being bothered in the slightest. She’s not some jet-setting internationally known celebrity, hounded by the press 24-7. She’s just a chick who “dated” a celebrity for a while.

By the way, In Touch has an absolutely hilarious story about “the real reason” Eli is doing Dancing With the Stars. Apparently, “George Clooney is a die-hard fan of the show, rarely missing an episode, so Elisabetta agreed to compete, hoping to make George jealous and win him back.” Oh, it gets better! A source says: “She even told the wardrobe department to create the sexiest and most provocative outfit’s the censors will allow since she knows George will be tuning in!” Oh, girl.

Here are some photos of Eli leaving Mr. Chow last night. Clooney used to take her to MR. Chow. I really think Eli would love to get back with him.

Elisabetta Canalis is rumored for the new season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’

wenn3348893

This story made me chuckle, snort and cackle all at the same time. It was a Chusnorkle. It’s just too delicious, I want to savor every word… Elisabetta Canalis. Reportedly. Signing on for. Dancing With the Stars!!!! Beautiful. So finally, we now know what all of those mysterious “business meetings” in LA were about. Elisabetta was talking to reality show producers, begging for a gig. Maybe Elisabetta figures that if Clooney’s newest piece is a former DWTS girl, then maybe Clooney will see Elisabetta’s moves and take her back? OH GOD, just think of the DWTS interviews! Eli is always so delightfully vapid. MAGIC.

This is one way to get over a breakup. According to sources, George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has signed on to the upcoming 13th season of Dancing With the Stars. ABC does not comment on casting rumors, and the new cast will be announced during Bachelor Pad on Aug. 29. However, insiders tell us the Italian model will be on board.

Elisabetta would be following in the footsteps of Clooney’s rumored new girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, who starred in the second season of DWTS. Canalis also would be pulling a Melissa Rycroft, bouncing back from a very public split by shaking her groove thing.

So who else will be part of the cast?

We’ll find out in less than two weeks, but in the meantime, our E! Online pal Marc Malkin has shot down two other DWTS casting rumors: Jersey Shore star Snooki and Queen Latifah. (Queen Latifah took to Twitter to say it’s not true she’s joining the cast. And sources say Snooki has not signed on.)

In June, George and Elisabetta called it quits on their two-year romance. Photogs snapped Keibler arriving at Clooney’s house earlier this month, but if the two truly are dating, they haven’t gone public.

If this casting pans out, we can always hope for an All-Star DWTS someday where Stacy and Elisabetta can square off. Maybe George can sit in at the judges’ table? Can you say ABC ratings bonanza?

Season 13 of DWTS will begin Sept. 19 with a two-hour premiere.

[From E! News]

Every year, I say I’m not going to watch DWTS, and every year, I end up watching certain performances or clips, just to keep with the news. Not this year, if Elisabetta is one of the contestants. I will totally watch every episode with Elisabetta. I have no interest in her as an actress, but I will watch her obsessively as a reality star. And let’s face it – what are her other options, if she wants an American career? Clooney’s not around to get her legit parts in films or television shows. She had to go to reality programming if she wanted to be relevant in America. I can’t wait.

Here’s a preview!! Eli dancing earlier this year on some Italian film festival. Seriously!! The girl only knows how to dance when it’s some kind of stripper pole situation.

Elisabetta Canalis is still “taking meetings” in Hollywood

wenn3216068

Back in the good old days, when Elisabetta Canalis and George Clooney were together, Clooney made sure that his girlfriend got some “jobs”. Clooney does this much too often – he picks up some cocktail waitress/escort and suddenly her job description is listed as “actress and model” and Clooney pulls strings with his friends to get her work. Personally, I find it kind of sad to see some 30-something “girlfriend of” try to pretend that she’s always wanted to be a runway model (Sarah Larson) or an underwear model (Elisabetta). When Eli and George were together, Eli got a contract with Roberto Cavalli, she got more “presenting/hostessing” gigs in Italy, and she got to make her debut on American television in the show Leverage. That’s really where it should have ended, because once people saw Elisabetta in action on screen, it was pretty obvious that her talents were never going to be found in front of a camera. Would you like to remember how awful it was? Here’s a scene from Leverage with Elisabetta and Timothy Hutton (poor bastard):

So, considering that Elisabetta no longer has a big Hollywood boyfriend who is actively trying to promote her, you would think that no one would even take Elisabetta’s calls, right? Wrong! According to Page Six, Elisabetta has been in LA, “taking meetings”. Ugh.

Elisabetta Canalis doesn’t appear to be wilting over her ex George Clooney’s new relationship with former wrestler Stacy Keibler. A confident-looking Canalis has been doing the rounds in Los Angeles taking meetings, sources tell us.

Showing off her figure in leather pants, she was spotted late last week dining at Ago in West Hollywood with girlfriends including “Watchmen” star Carla Gugino.

A source told us, “She looked carefree as she and her friends sipped white wine and dined on steak and langoustines.”

[From Page Six]

Well, maybe people are just being polite. She can take meetings and never get another role in Hollywood again. Of course, there will be someone, some dumbass, who agrees with Elisabetta and thinks that because Eli has made a “name” for herself (as “the girlfriend of”) then suddenly, she’s got a career. Look, I don’t have a problem with Elisabetta being a celebrity in Italy – good for her, and that’s where she should stay. But let’s not pretend that Clooney’s girlfriends should have Hollywood careers after he dumps them. After all, I’m sure Stacy Keibler is “taking meetings” right now too. There will always be a new crop.
