John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher all get hitched

wenn2736626

What was it about July 10 that made everyone want to get married? Strange. Anyway, yesterday, Saturday, two somewhat prominent celebrity couples got hitched. First, we have American Office star John Krasinski and English crumpet Emily Blunt marrying in a private ceremony in Italy. Their reps confirmed to People that the wedding took place, but Us Weekly actually has some of the wedding porn details (Clooney was there!):

That’s amore! Emily Blunt and John Krasinski wed at the Villa D’este in Como, Italy, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

“John and Emily were married on Saturday in a private ceremony,” Krasinski’s rep tells Us.

“It was an outdoor ceremony and absolutely beautiful,” says an insider. George Clooney and Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were in attendance; Blunt and Krasinski had been staying at Clooney’s nearby Lake Como estate since the July 4th weekend.

“It was an official ceremony. They are husband and wife,” adds the source.

After about a year of dating, The Office star Krasinski, 30, proposed to British actress Blunt, 27, with a 3-carat Edwardian diamond and platinum ring from Neil Lane, worth $100,000.

Krasinski told Access Hollywood that the proposal was “very casual” but very emotional, too. “She did cry after I cried, and we cried and then everyone around us was crying,” he said.

“She’s a wonderful girl,” Krasinski gushed at last year’s Emmys of his fiancee.

“So many people say, ‘You know when you know,’ and it’s true,” Krasinski added of his love. “It’s all true.”

Reps could not be reached for comment.

[From Us Weekly]

Oooh, I wonder if they actually got married at George Clooney’s Lake Como villa? That must have been beautiful. Do you think Elisabetta Canalis was like “George when are we going to get married?” If she did, she’ll be out the door soon enough.

Next, we have country singer Carrie Underwood and her hockey player Mike Fisher. They were married in Atlanta, Georgia, apparently, and it was a more traditional affair then Clooney’s Den of Sin and European Sex.

Carrie Underwood is a married woman! The American Idol winner, 27, wed her hockey player beau Mike Fisher Saturday night near Atlanta, Ga., UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

The two walked down the aisle in front of more than 200 guests at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga., in a ceremony estimated to cost more than $500,000, according to RadarOnline.com. Underwood and Fisher, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, said their vows under a lakeside tent.

After a year of dating, Fisher, 30, popped the question last December with a 12-carat ring worth about $800,000. “We’re both obviously excited and very happy,” Fisher said at the time. Underwood hired a wedding planner, but also ironed out many of the details herself.

“I bought a lot of magazines and am cutting out pictures,” she told Us in January. “I have a folder and I cut out pictures and glue them in. It’s in kind of a binder thing.”

Fisher was tasked with coordinating the honeymoon. “[Planning] that was Mike’s project,” she said at the CMA Fest last month.

“It’s a surprise. I have no clue where we are going, which is nice. I know it will be warm, that’s about it.”

The Grammy winner said she wasn’t worrying too much about slimming down before her wedding.

“I’m not a big stresser — Mike would love me if I weighed 800 pounds,” she told reporters after taking the entertainer of the year award for the second straight year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April.

Underwood first met Fisher backstage after an October 2008 concert in Toronto. “I made sure he came in with some other people,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I was like, ‘What if he’s weird?’”

They made their first public appearance as a couple in January 2010 at an event in Quebec. After nabbing Video of the Year at the CMT Awards last month, Underwood gushed to Us, “No matter what happens, I go home a winner. I have the biggest prize, the guy sitting next to me. Win or lose, he is proud of me. Of course, it’s nice to share the good times too!”

[From Us Weekly]

Congratulations to both couples, I’m sure they will be very happy. Does anyone want to place any bets on pregnancies, divorces, etc? My bet is that Carrie will get knocked up before Emily Blunt, but that Emily and John’s marriage will last longer. But you never can tell with those British girls, really. Emily seems very down-to-earth, and there have already been rumors that she’s pregnant. Honeymoon babies for both?

Emily Blunt tells airbrushers not to make her thinner

blunt2

I know some of you don’t really give a crap about Emily Blunt, but I like her and I think she’s one of most talented young actresses out there. Even though she didn’t end up getting an Oscar nomination for her lead role in The Young Victoria (in which she played the young Queen Victoria, obviously), Blunt’s career is still going full steam ahead. Next up for her is Wolfman, where she plays the girlfriend (I think) of Benicio del Toro’s wolf-y character. Blunt was profiled in the LA Times Magazine (these are those photos) this week, and she professes that she tells “the airbrusher” not to make her any thinner for photo shoots:

Gossip reporters are often complaining that there are disappointingly few paparazzi shots of you doing anything naughty. Is there an art to staying off the tabloid radar?
People are like, “We want to see her fall on her face not wearing underwear.” That sounds just awful. They can clamor for those pictures, but I am determined not to reveal any of that. I did manage to smash the front of my Prius the other day. I hit a curb.

Did the paps nail you?
I don’t think so. But they are sneaky. They will get you when you least want to be gotten.

During shooting for The Devil Wears Prada, you had a habit of showing up on set whether you had a call time on that day or not. Is directing in your future?
It was my first really big feature. To see things move like a well-oiled machine is so interesting. But I was lonely as well. I knew no one [in the area] apart from people on the set—and it was a riot. I was in heaven every day working on that movie.

I found a headline from that year. I’ll read it, and you give me your reaction: “Devil Wears Prada Forced Emily Blunt to Emaciate Herself.” Yeah, that’s another story I thought got blown out of proportion. With Hollywood, you say one thing, and that’s what can happen. I was definitely encouraged to lose weight—not because I was overweight but because I was playing a character who was edge-of-ill thin. She literally doesn’t eat. I couldn’t turn up with love handles, but it wasn’t like doughnuts were snatched out of my hand.

You admire the Denches and Mirrens, of course, but you really desire to be like Cate Blanchett. Why?
Well, I want to do my own thing and not emulate anyone else, but I am fully admiring of what Cate has done. She is so compelling to watch, so chameleon-like, that she is able to lose herself in any part. And there is no vanity—not a shred of self- consciousness. There are people out there who make really brave choices. That’s why I singled out Cate. That’s also why I like Benicio Del Toro and the choices he has made.

Is he the main reason you signed on for The Wolfman?
Yeah, Benicio and Anthony Hopkins. Those two guys are top of my list—favorite actors, favorite performances. When I heard they were both doing it, it was a double-whammy of intrigue. I knew it was a commercial script, and I knew exactly what I was getting into. I actually liked the script. Sometimes it’s not only about the story, the character, the director. It is often about who I am working with. You really are only as good as your costars.

I heard you once instructed a photographer not to airbrush you—that can’t be right, can it?
I told him not to make me thinner. I hate when your legs are three times the length they actually are. I heard they could raise your nipples if you have a slightly see-through top, lift your bum—they can do everything. I can understand there are things like shadows they need to fix after a shoot, but it’s unfair to represent an image of yourself if it’s not true. They’re gonna see what you look like on film anyway, so why try to cover all your wobbly bits in a photo?

[From The Los Angeles Times]

She comes across as very down-to earth, doesn’t she? Also, she has that sort of stereotypical (but still charming) English sensibility of “I don’t take myself too seriously, and neither should you.” I love what she says about her “wobbly bits” although I think she has a very healthy, lean figure. Sure, she’s slender, but she looks like a girl who eats and drinks beer and will fight you for the last onion ring. Which is nice!

Wolfman premiere pics: Emily Blunt, John Krasinski & Benicio del Toro

wolfman_premiere_01_wenn2736740

Last night, Wolfman premiered in Los Angeles and all of the major cast members showed up for the red carpet. These aren’t our usual suspects (get it?) for gossip, but I liked the photos from the premiere, so let’s talk about it! Emily Blunt brought her fiancée John Krasinski, who looked just like my mom imagines what her son-in-law will look like. Anthony Hopkins (above) might be the winner of Hollywood’s Grand Beard Experiment, and he’s killing me with that cravat. Oh, and I would still nail Benicio del Toro to the wall. Yum.

Here’s Emily Blunt’s simple, lovely dress. I don’t really have a feel for Emily’s style yet. From what I’ve seen, she can be very hit-or-miss on the red carpet, and she usually gets at least one thing wrong (between hair, makeup and dress). But I really like this overall look:

fp_4509741_rev_wolfman_020910

John Krasinski is such a cutie. Is it just me or are his ears getting bigger? The ears give him this air of goofiness that I just love. He’s like a young Jimmy Stewart.

fp_4509746_rev_wolfman_020910

Benicio del Toro. I know, I know, I questioned whether he still had the hotness. When he smiles, you can still see it. Jesus, this man does it for me. I get that many of you think I have weird taste in men and everything, but seriously, how could you not want to do dirty things with this man?

fp_4509747_rev_wolfman_020910

Lastly, here’s Hugo Weaving, better known as that dude from The Matrix. At first I thought it was Sting. The beard works for him and I’ve never really noticed that he’s a pretty good-looking dude. Well done, Hugo.

Michael Buble is “a cheater and a rat” who can’t commit, claims ex

wenn5380086
Speaking as someone who is actually a fan of Michael Buble, I can’t say this report in Star Magazine came as a galloping shock to me. While Michael has a voice as smooth as silk, from what I’ve read about him previously, he has a reputation as a skeeze, a womanizer, and a guy who can’t commit. But still, that voice! And when he’s on a stage, or talking to Oprah or something, he comes off as very charming, very self-deprecating, very boy-next-door.

The story of how and why Michael and actress Emily Blunt broke off their relationship/engagement has been going around for a while. And most of the rumors came from the same person, a girl named Tiffany Bromley, who continues to claim that she and Michael were sleeping together while he and Emily were together. She began telling her story back in 2007- with some incriminating photo evidence. Now Star is revisiting her story – I can’t tell if she gave Star a new interview, or if the tabloid is simply regurgitating old 2007 reports, but here you go:

Michael Buble claims he’s found the real deal with South American superstar Luisana Lopilato but his ex has a warning for the Argentine actress. “He’s a cheater and a rat,” says Tiffany Bromley. “He once told me, ‘I can’t commit to one person.”

Tiffany says Michael, 34, regularly went back to her during his three-year relationship with Emily Blunt, even when Michael and Emily were planning to marry. A few months into his romance with Emily, Michael called Tiffany one night and invited her to his room at Le Parc Suite Hotel in West Hollywood.

“Before I knew it, Michael started kissing me passionately and undressing me,” she says. “He said he didn’t want to go all the way because he never cheated on Emily – but we did.”

Six months after that, while both Michael and Tiffany were in Canada, he called her at 4 a.m. saying, “I want to see you.” She went straight to the Vancouver apartment he shared with Emily… and Michael greeted her at the door in his briefs.

“On a scale of 1 to 10, he was an 11 that night… The only thing that bothered me was, right before we got into bed, Michael said ‘Let’s take some naked pictures. It will be fun.’ Then, he asked me if I’d like to take part in a threesome – me, him, and another woman. I told him, ‘No way!’ He said, ‘Don’t knock it till you tried it. You don’t know what you’re missing.’”

[From Star Magazine, print edition, November 16 2009]

The story goes on and on. Tiffany and Michael had sex a bunch of times, she took the infamous photos of Michael sleeping naked, and that was the last she saw of him. Although, they did fight over the phone about him “coming clean” to Emily Blunt. Emily and Michael later split up, and now she’s engaged to John Krasinski.

The point of the story seems to be that Tiffany doesn’t think Michael will be able to commit to Luisana. Tiffany says: “Michael was never going to marry Emily. He was just leading her on. And I don’t see him settling down now anytime soon, if ever. That’s just Michael. He’s just not that kind of person. He’s too married to his career.”

Personally, I don’t see Michael getting really serious with any girl for a little while either, but I don’t think the guy should be strung up just because of that. His career is booming. Let him do his thing. Here’s Michael’s new video, “Haven’t Met You Yet”:

Katie Holmes loses the zombie for Elle’s “Women in Hollywood” issue

elle1
The November issue of Elle is devoted to “Women in Hollywood”. Katie Holmes is the cover girl, but they also profile Emily Blunt (love her), Julianne Moore (love her more), Renee Zellweger (meh) and Zoe Saldana (pretty girl, but meh to her as well). As for the cover shot, I actually like it. Katie looks very cute with her choppy, cute haircut. And her eyes are looking less zombie-esque (can they photoshop the zombie out?). The dress is alright, and it is nice to see Katie in a bright color, but the dress just shows off how very thin Katie is.

Everybody was interviewed, but none of them really had anything fascinating to say. Katie loves vampire movies (and yet, no mention of zombies). Emily loves being a character actress, and she bitches about aging in Hollywood (her picture is awful too – it‘s like they were trying to make her look vacant). Julianne, who is by far one of the greatest actresses working today, was barely interviewed (but her photo is fab). Renee watches a lot of Katherine Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe movies (who doesn’t?). Zoe is zzzz…

KATIE HOLMES-On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

-On life as a working mom on the Broadway set of All My Sons: “Suri would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.”

-On fashion: “I love Alaia, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio. Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron.

-On the genre of film she loves most: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”

EMILY BLUNT
-On adjusting to Hollywood life since moving from the UK: “I feel the fear of the business creep under my skin in L.A. in a way that it doesn’t in England. It’s funny – I feel like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, unless you’re in Hollywood! It’s shameful how you have to look a certain way. Women are simply not allowed to grow old gracefully. That’s why I love playing character parts, because I’m not pigeonholed into trying to remain young forever to play the ingénue or romantic lead.”

JULIANNE MOORE-On types of characters she is drawn to: “I think my connection to acting has been through reading. I’m interested in scripts. People ask me, “What role are you dying to play?” It’s really, What story do I want to be in?”

RENEE ZELLWEGER-On actresses from earlier eras that have influenced her: “For Leatherheads, I was thinking of Katharine Hepburn, the way she leaned forward with her shoulders back, speaking in her lower register the whole time. I like her confidence, her intelligence, her sense of entitlement. When I was making Chicago, I couldn’t stop watching the Marilyn [Monroe] videos. Not so much because of the sex kitten thing; it was more her vulnerability. That was a huge part of the Roxie character. But it’s not about emulating; it’s about a feeling.”

-On whether a successful movie career requires sacrificing your personal life: “A friend of mine couldn’t decide between moving to New York or staying in L.A., and another friend said, “Do Everything!” I thought, That’s it, do everything.”

ZOE SALDANA-On being known as a beautiful Hollywood actress: “I’m sorry, but it’s sexy to know that guys find you attractive. It’s empowering.”

[From Elle Magazine]

Eh, I’m just going to avoid talking about the other girls, and just focus on my girl Julianne. She’s got two films coming out this fall/winter, and both look interesting. First, there’s Chloe, which doesn’t have a release date yet. Julianne plays a wife who suspects her husband is cheating, so she hires a hooker, Chloe, to seduce him. It stars Amanda Seyfried (as Chloe) and Liam Neeson (as the husband). The second film is Tom Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man. Julianne plays a supporting role to Colin Firth, who is an early contender for Lead Oscar. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing Julianne on some red carpets this awards season too – she usually brings it, and I love her so much.

John Krasinski confirms engagement: “You know when you know.”

How cute is John Krasinski? I wish he would wear his hair slicked-back like this more often. It makes him appear a little goofy, but still really, really hot. You know what makes him ever better? The fact that he talked openly about his engagement to Emily Blunt! He confirmed it to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, and said what so many girls wish they heard about them, “You know when you know.” Sigh. I love him. Unfortunately, Emily didn’t walk the red carpet with John – she was in Toronto, promoting The Young Victoria:

The Office’s John Krasinski opened up about his engagement to Emily Blunt on the red carpet at Sunday’s Emmy Awards.

“She’s a wonderful girl. Someone had to do it…it was a tough gig, but somebody had to do it,” he joked. “So many people are angry at me.”

A rep for the couple confirmed their engagement in late August.

Krasinski, 29, says he had a feeling it was time to propose this summer after about 10 months of dating.

“So many people say, ‘You know when you know,’ and it’s true,” Krasinski said. “It’s all true.”

Krasinski hit the carpet solo. Where was Blunt, 26?

“She’s up in Toronto,” he said. “Her film [romantic drama The Young Victoria] is closing the film festival.”

[From Us Weekly]

It doesn’t sound like they’re fighting over wedding plans, as the Enquirer would have us believe. Yeah, I didn’t really buy that – they both seem like really sweet, nice, easy-going people. Alright, Emily seems like she might be a ballbuster, but I doubt it’s anything too bad. I also think there’s still a possibility that Emily is pregnant. No judgment! I think it’s sweet that, theoretically, John Krasinski might be the kind of guy who would immediately propose to a girl he knocked up. But what do I know? It could be that they’re both very traditional, and want to wait before the vows are exchanged before getting pregnant. How… old-school.

John Krasinski & Emily Blunt are fighting over babies & wedding plans

Two weeks ago, John Krasinski and British actress Emily Blunt announced their engagement through a short and sweet confirmation by John’s rep to People Magazine. Since then, they’ve been keeping quiet. No gushing tell-all interviews to Us Weekly, no well-timed photo ops of the two of them looking lovey-dovey shopping for furniture. The only major thing to happen was a brief, fleeting glimpse of Emily’s engagement ring as she was accosted by paparazzi and fans outside of LAX one week ago. From the picture People had, it looks like John got her a nice-sized diamond, maybe three carats or so, probably either round or rose-cut.

Unfortunately for all of us who like to pretend John is our imaginary boyfriend, it seems John and Emily have just been fighting up a storm since getting engaged. This is according to the Enquirer - the tabloid claims John and Emily’s fights are of the “oh, that’s so cute, we’re fighting about flowers!” variety. At least, that’s how it seems to me:

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are already fighting – over the wedding date!

Emily… wants a year to plan a splashy event, but John wants to get married no later than February, pals say.

“John doesn’t want to wait,” an insider on the set of The Office told The Enquirer. “But Emily wants time to plan the wedding of her dreams. Right now, they’re clashing.”

One of the main reasons John is pushing to marry quickly is because he’s anxious to be a dad, revealed a friend. “He wants to start a family right away… he adores children. And he wants Emily to get pregnant as soon as possible.”

Added the pal: “They’re excited about getting engaged, but they’re trying to work out some kind of compromise on the timing of the wedding.”

[From the National Enquirer, print edition, September 21 2009]

Meh. I would be willing to bet that John Krasinski is the kind of guy who would be happy no matter how, when or where Emily wanted to get married. But I do think he probably does want to be a dad, and soon. My first thought when I heard of their engagement was “I wonder if she’s knocked up?” It wouldn’t be a big deal if she was – there’s nothing wrong with a shotgun marriage, after all. But if she is knocked up, or if John is making it his top priority, my guess is the wedding will be sooner rather than later.

People: Emily Blunt & John Krasinski are engaged

90402x4_blunt_b_gr_09

ARGH! I’m going to go light a candle, pour myself a drink and have a good weep. Because my imaginary boyfriend John Krasinski is now totally off the market. People Magazine has confirmed with John Krasinski’s rep that John and British actress Emily Blunt are officially engaged. Sob. Wail. Emily and John have been dating since November of 2008 (although I thought it had been longer). John has previously dated Rashida Jones (daughter of Quincy) and Emily has previously dated Canadian crooner Michael Buble. Need I say it? It’s the real deal if People Magazine is confirming it:

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will soon be husband and wife.

The Office star, 29, and actress, 26, who have been dating since November 2008, are engaged, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“We can confirm that John and Emily are engaged,” says the rep.

[From People]

Who wants to join me for a drink? I mean… a toast. Right. Why am I so sad? Is it because John has that quality that makes it seem like any girl has a chance? I will give him some credit – he seems to go for the nice girls. Emily seems like a very nice girl – yes, a bit of a potty-mouth (who isn’t?) but generally she seems funny, sweet, intelligent and talented.

Back in May, there were a couple of rumors that John was cheating on Emily with his It’s Complicated costar Lake Bell, but not many people believed it. He just doesn’t seem to have a douchey vein in his body. Sigh. Nice to see they still make boys like that. John will be seen next in the new season of The Office, starting in late September, and then he’s got the Christmas release of It’s Complicated, an ensemble romantic comedy (with Meryl Streep!). Emily will next be seen in The Young Victoria (as the young Queen of England) in November and some weird looking film called Wild Target (with Bill Nighy!). Congratulations to the happy couple.

Here are Emily and John in April. Images thanks to BauerGriffinOnline.

Is John Krasinski cheating on Emily Blunt with Lake Bell?

90402x4_blunt_b_gr_09
John Krasinski is the guy every mother wants her daughter to bring home. He’s got his pick of all of the “nice” girls in Hollywood and beyond, but I’m struggling to see his type. First, he had that on-and-off relationship with Rashida Jones, daughter of Quincy and former star of The Office. Then as soon as English cutie Emily Blunt dumped Michael Buble, Blunt and Krasinski were a couple and have been ever since. Now reports are indicating that John might be dumping Emily for his costar, Lake Bell.

John and Lake met on a Nancy Meyers film that is yet untitled. Meyers wrote and directed that film with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, Something’s Got To Give, so she usually knows how to pick a cast. But John Krasinski and Lake Bell? Lake Bell is like the budget version of Amanda Peet. John could do better – and has with Emily Blunt.

Looks like The Office’s John Krasinski has a workplace crush! Although he’s been dating The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Blunt, 26, since November, John, 29, has gotten very close to Lake Bell, 30, his costar in the upcoming untitled Nancy Myers film, an insider tells Star.

“John and Lake have been flirting like crazy on set. In between takes, they sit next to each other, giggling and whispering like teenagers – he’ll play with her rings or she’ll rest his head on his shoulder.”

While other cast members are bussing about the obvious chemistry between the two even when cameras aren’t rolling, “I don’t think they care,” says the insider.

“But it’s almost uncomfortable to watch.” Let’s hope Emily doesn’t pay a surprise visit to the set!

[From Star Magazine, print edition, May 25 2009]

Let’s hope Emily does pay a surprise visit to the set and dumps Krasinski. What am I saying? I adore John Krasinski, and I so don’t want to believe this story. Could it be that the guy every mother loves is just the same as all of the other up-and-coming Hollywood womanizers? This is what happens when an actor is so identifiable with one particular character – Jim Halpert would never do this. I can’t believe it.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski officially dating

Once celebrities have been photographed together in L.A., there’s no turning back. They’re dating. Officially. So it comes as a surprise that John Krasinski (Jim from “The Office”) and Emily Blunt (the English cutie from The Devil Wears Prada), two seemingly-down-to-earth, non-famewhore types would get caught out so soon into their relationship. I first heard the rumor of their romance just a few weeks ago… but here they are, publicly declaring their affection with a chaste closeness-of-hands.

We heard rumblings of a romance between John Krasinski and Emily Blunt a few weeks ago, and apparently the rumors are true. They stepped out Monday night for a movie date at the Arclight in LA, and it looks like John is putting a smile on Emily’s face already. Most of you picked Jim and Pam for Best TV romance of 2008, but we’ll have to wait and see if John’s new real-life relationship will be just as sweet.

[From PopSugar]

John Krasinski is one of those guys that both mothers and daughters adore. My mother has taken to calling Krasinski “my future son-in-law” – of course, she said that about Matt Damon, and look how that turned out. Both Krasinski and Blunt have “dated famous” before – Krasinski had an on-and-off relationship with Rashida Jones (daughter of Quincy and former star of “The Office”) and Blunt dated singer (and another favorite of moms) Michael Buble for more than a year. I like the way these two look together, and I hope the relationship is for real. My mother’s going to be heartbroken, though.
