Courtney Love blames her Benzos addiction on Winona Ryder and Andy Dick

Here’s a photo of Courtney Love trashed out of her mind while exiting the Chateau Marmont on 1/13 because she always keeps it classy. That’s just a precursor for this warning to brace yourselves, for there’s a new “tell all” book about Courtney (aptly titled Courtney Comes Clean) that has been penned by The Fix and is based upon a year’s worth of in-person, phone, and e-mail correspondence with Love, most of which she probably doesn’t even remember.

The book goes into depth about Courtney’s struggles with addiction, her issues with men, and more on the money troubles that we’ve heard so much about already. Below, I’ve included some excerpts wherein Courtney blames a lot of her own crap on other people, including such celebrities as Winona Ryder and Andy Dick, but the book also apparently includes call-outs aimed towards Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Kirstie Alley, Harvey Weinstein, Madonna, Oliver Stone, Brett Ratner, and Clive Owen. What could she possibly have against Clive Owen? Obviously, Courtney has tried (and possibly succeeded) to smash with both Stone and Ratner, but Clive wouldn’t give her the time of day. Maybe that’s what she’s upset about, but who knows? Only Courtney, and she’s probably already forgotten. Here are those excerpts:

On her “sobriety”: “I think of myself as sober,” she says, although she admits that her daily regimen of pills wouldn’t pass muster at an AA meeting. “When you’re used to heroin and cocaine, a few pills doesn’t seem like the end of the world. As they say in AA, it’s about progress, not perfection. I mean, abstinence is a nice idea, but I don’t know if it’s right for everyone. Especially for someone who was nursed on a steady diet of Valium and Ritalin from the time I was seven, thanks to my fine mother. I don’t do street drugs anymore. My medications are all legally prescribed by prominent physicians. I’m entirely legal. But the truth is, I’ve never claimed to be anyone’s role model. I’m not Mother Theresa. All I’m trying to do is stay alive.”

On losing it at Pam Anderson’s roast: “That Roast wasn’t a great moment for me. I was doped and dazed, and had lipstick smeared all over my face. I may have even been drooling. But it was all Andy Dick’s fault. He handed me a fat pill right before the show and said, ‘Courtney, here, take this–it’s like Vicodin without the aspirin.’ Winona Ryder slipped me a similar pill a few years ago. I’m such an addict that I just swallowed them both, without asking what they were. So thanks to Andy Dick, I ended up getting addicted to benzos again, which went on to plague my life.”

She’s tight with Sam Lufti:
Love has dismissed many loyal staffers in recent years, including Marie Walsh Dixon, a veteran associate who decamped to work for Frances Bean. Other employees are suing her for unpaid wages. In their place, she has turned increasingly to Sam “Osama” Lutfi, a 37-year-old sober coach who has played an increasingly prominent role in her day-to-day affairs. A swarthy Svengali who once allegedly worked as a private investigator, Lutfi first rose to prominence in 2007 while representing Britney Spears during her much-publicized breakdown. Lutfi insists he has no formal relationship with Love, whom he describes as a friend.

She’s not a Chelsea Handler fan: “I may not like what you stand for, but I do believe in sisterhood,” she [told] Handler, who had recently taken up with Love’s ex-boyfriend, hotelier Andre Balazs. “You don’t want to put gratitude in the hands of a man who doesn’t accept you for who you are and never, ever will…No one in New York City, not even Trump, is despised more! I’m here to serve! Get help and work on your addiction/trauma, Chelsea! The kids call what you’re doing fame-whoring. [Y]ou’re too dumb to get it! Yes I know he’s telling you to take the high road and I’m telling you to take the f&#@ing high road you low-life. GO 2 REHAB!”

Inspector Courtney on fraud: In 2008, Courtney complained to the press that various corrupt lawyers and accountants had cheated her out of $250 million. By 2010, the figure had ballooned to $1 billion. In her quest to unmask the alleged thefts, she engaged a “twitter army” of volunteers who took to the Internet and examined property records to track down suspicious leads. But while some of those volunteers have backed up her claims of fraud, her distractions and failure to pay her employees have stood in the way of real progress.

The crack really helped too: “The strange thing is, while the crack screwed me up in a lot of ways, it improved me in certain others. I’ve never been good with numbers, but when I was on crack I could do math really, really well. I became a f&#@king whiz at calculus.”

Oh wait, Courtney screwed herself: “Shortly after Kurt’s death, the lawyer who was representing me called and said, ‘Courtney, you have over $7 million coming to you, but you need to give me your Social Security number.’ [I couldn't] remember my Social Security Number, so I had to lie and make one up. My mother, saint that she is, had a million husbands. My brothers and sisters were adopted by one stepfather, then by another. Thank God I was emancipated when I was 15, but ever since then I’ve wandered through life wondering who the fuck I am: Courtney Michelle Rodriguez? Courtney Michelle Menelli? Courtney Love? Courtney Cobain? It’s like, I don’t even know my f&#@ing name! How am I expected to know my Social Security number?”

[From The Fix]

That part about the social security number is particularly interesting because it illustrates that Courtney has dug her own financial hole from the very moment that Kurt Cobain died, and if she’s hanging with Sam Lufti, Courtney is just begging to get ripped off in the future. Of course, Courtney probably thinks that Sam is just “misunderstood” just like she is, but I find it amusing that he is the one trying to downplay their relationship. When Sam Lufti doesn’t want to be professionally associated with you, well, you catch my drift.

The Fix also includes a lot of excerpts on its website about Francis Bean’s deposition that resulted in her emancipation from Courtney. Francis alleges that Courtney took drugs “for as long as I can remember” and often fell asleep while smoking, which lead to her nearly burning the house down on three separate occasions. Francis also claimed that her cat was killed by Courtney’s hoarding habit and that her dog died after ingesting some of Courtney’s pill stash. At one point, Francis also had to deal with talking her mother out of jumping from a balcony, and she grew understandably weary of listening to Courtney rage about fraud on a consistent basis. For us, it was exhausting just to read Courtney’s fraud-related rants on Twitter, but Francis was apparently dealing with a bunch of screaming and paranoia about it in real life. Poor Francis — thank goodness she got away from that mess of a mother.

Courtney Comes Clean is available for download here.

Here’s photos from Courtney with tweaked lips last July at a Valentino-associated museum launch party.

Frances Bean Cobain’s rocker bf gushes about her: “we’re each other’s everything”

It was a little over two months ago that we heard that Frances Bean Cobain, the 19 year-old daughter of the late great Kurt Cobain and the still kicking and screaming Courtney Love, was engaged to a 26 year-old rocker named Isaiah Silva. At that time Isaiah and Frances had both changed their facebook statuses to “engaged” and there was talk about how Frances was going to marry a guy who was a lot like the father she lost when she was just a toddler. Well they’re not married yet, but Frances and Isaiah, a guitarist and singer for a band named The Rambles, are still going strong. Isaiah told People Magazine that he has a peaceful, contented life with Frances:

Though the couple went public with their engagement in October, little is known about the relationship between the daughter of the late grunge god Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean, and her fiancé, Isaiah Silva, frontman of rock band the Rambles.

“We’re each other’s everything,” Silva, 26, tells PEOPLE about Cobain, 19, and himself. “We’re homebodies. We don’t go out to clubs so you won’t find us stumbling out of them with Lindsay Lohan. We stay at home, read books and watch Arrested Development.”

Adds bandmate Mark Kuchel, “They’re quiet and shy. They’re a great couple. Frances comes to most of our shows that she can get into.”

One of the last was the band’s December set at the Viper Room, where Cobain and Silva were seen looking very loving and affectionate before and after the show.

“I love strong, opinionated, intelligent women,” says Silva, who spent the first 18 years of his life in the Fullerton Assembly of God group, a faction focused on strict Christian values and the second coming of Christ. “Women in the [group] were totally oppressed, but I am very pro-woman.”

Silva and his family severed ties with the group when he was 18. Despite Silva’s unconventional upbringing, he fought for his individuality when he gravitated toward punk music, learned to play the guitar with pals and “always had long hair and always dyed it.”

“I had to grow up much faster than I would have liked,” he adds. “I’ve been through a lot. But now, I’m totally happy.”

Catch the Rambles at SXSW in Texas in March and look out for their upcoming EP, recorded with producer Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band).

[From People]

That’s sweet, and I wish them well. It sounds like they have a similar rough childhood in commmon, too. Frances was shuffled around to different family members and is currently estranged from her mother. In late October Frances bought her first home, a relatively modest four bedroom in West Hollywood for $1.8 million. In 2010, when she turned 18, Frances came into her inheritance. She is entitled to 37% of the $450 million estate of her late father. Her take is estimated to be around $170 million. Even if that amount is overestimated, it’s impressive that she’s managed to stay so low-key.

Is Frances Bean Cobain engaged to a Kurt Cobain lookalike?

wenn2810859
Kaiser sent me this story a couple of days ago and I shrugged until it got picked up by People. Apparently Frances Bean Cobain, still just 19, and her boyfriend of over a year, musician Isaiah Silva, changed their Facebook status to “engaged.” They’re pretty young to be getting married, and some outlets are claiming he’s a “Kurt Cobain lookalike.” There are photos of the guy in a flannel shirt and he’s a musician and looks kind of scrappy like Frances’ famous late dad, but I don’t see a strong resemblance there. Isaiah has dark hair. He’s looked like Kurt in the past, though, like strikingly so.

Frances Bean Cobain, 19, the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain, has been dating Isaiah Silva of L.A. band the Rambles for more than a year – and they may have taken the next step, reports the OC Weekly.

They each quietly changed their Facebook relationship status to engaged a few weeks ago, the paper says, and a source confirms their happy news of Cobain’s engagement to PEOPLE. However, they have since changed their statuses back.

According to the report, the couple use fake names on Facebook – she goes by Frances Rachel Leigh Cook, he uses Isaiah David Berkowitz-Cusack. Screen shots of their Facebook pages also show comments that hint at an engagement.

“Getting to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend makes me the luckiest woman in the world,” Cobain wrote at one point.

Cobain, who exuded Old Hollywood glamour in a set of photos taken by fine art photographer Rocky Schenck earlier this year, was just 20 months old when she lost her father, the Nirvana frontman.

[From People]

She’s so young to get married but at least Frances is in a serious longterm relationship and at least she’s no longer under the influence of her mom. The last we saw of Frances she was in a photoshoot late this summer looking so elegant and like a young Angelina Jolie. She is rock royalty, and it seems so fitting that she would marry a musician. I hope that they don’t do it legally, though, and just keep it serious and committed without making it official. I know some people marry young and it works, but I still think it’s a bad idea. They’re so adorable together, though. Check out these photos from their Facebook. (The black and white ones below.)

Frances Bean Cobain, 19, is lovely and tatted up in new portraits

frances1
We get requests occasionally to cover Frances Bean Cobain, the 19 year-old daughter of batsh*t crazy Courtney Love and the late great Kurt Cobain. I think it’s because we covered Frances’ suicide-themed sweet 16 party after she posted the photos on MySpace. It was dumb and arguably insensitive to have a “suicide” party, given how her dad allegedly died, but Frances was just a kid and you would expect her mother to tell her “no,” which obviously did not happen.

frances10
Anyway it’s a few years later and Frances is older and hopefully wiser. She’s been estranged from her insane mom for some time, and now she’s ready to step back into the spotlight. MTV’s style blog and Stylecaster have run two series of photos of Frances by photographer Hedi Slimane. Frances is wearing her own clothing and styling. She looks stunning. In one series she’s a little rough around the edges and looking rock and roll. The Angelina Jolie comparisons are obvious. In another that was just released she’s elegant in vintage-style clothing and looking a little like Evan Rachel Wood. The NY Times called the first set of photos “one of the most anticipated comings of age in recent pop cultural history.”

frances9
These are beautiful photos, but they feel wrong to me somehow, like she shouldn’t be out in the public eye like this. She’s old enough though at 19 and she looks so self-possessed here. This is a young woman who can definitely hold her own. Frances has a Twitter account where she doesn’t post much and comes across well when she does. She writes that this photo is her favorite:

francesfavorite

Frances’ mother Courtney Love has of course chimed in. She quipped “I don’t know how the entire f’ing news media has my phone number. It’s like when Amy Winehouse died — everyone called.” Then she bragged about herself randomly and ultimately said she was proud of her daughter, but didn’t realize how many tattoos Frances had. Frances hasn’t seem her mom in ages obviously, and that’s surely the best course for her.

Courtney Love goes on an insane Twitter freakout for Frances Bean’s b-day

I’m not even sure I have the strength or the will power to write about Courtney Love’s neverending, batsh-t crazy, epic, tragic, FUBAR birthday tweet to her daughter, Frances Bean. You see, Frances turned 18 years old. And even though little Bean was already making decisions for herself – like choosing Kurt Cobain’s mom and sister as her guardians last year – Bean now has even more control over her estate, and her mom… well, I can’t even tell if Courtney is happy about that. Should I just present some of this stuff without comment? Eh. I don’t even have the will to actually cut and paste the tweets, so here are just some of the highlights, edited down because of profanity (you can read the whole freakout here, on Courtney’s Twitter)… read it bottom to top:

[From Courtney’s Twitter]

That about sums it up. Can you even imagine if your mother did this to you? It’s like Courtney is stroking out on Twitter, honestly. If I didn’t KNOW that Courtney was tweeting one-handed, with a crack pipe in the other hand, I would be worried. But Courtney adheres to my cockroach theory – the more consistently f-cked up a person is throughout the years, the more they’ll survive, year after year.

Courtney Love: Frances Bean has ‘enough money to kill her’ & was offered Twilight lead

Rock princess Frances Bean Cobain hangs out with friends in New York City, New York on August 20, 2009. Fame Pictures, Inc
I first read this story on ONTD, which claimed in the title that Courtney Love said her estranged daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, would die by 22 if she spent her inheritance on drugs. If you read Love’s remarks more carefully, she’s probably just saying the money will be gone in a few years, not that Frances will be gone at 22. She did say it’s enough money to kill her, though, and it’s like the evil bitch is counting on it. Love has plenty of money problems and has insisted that there’s some kind of money laundering conspiracy to steal her late husband, Kurt Cobain’s estate. I’m sure she’s just incredibly bitter that it’s her daughter who will be able to spend Kurt’s fortune on drugs (if she’s so inclined) and not her. According to some accounts she’s already squandered her share.

This quote is out of a long interview in the Daily Mail. It’s hard to read Love’s rambling remarks and come to any conclusion other than that she’s on lots of speed and random prescription drugs. She’s no longer in contact with Frances, from whom she was court-ordered to stay away from last year.

No wonder relations between her and Frances are strained. I ask her to explain what is going on between them. Courtney lost custody in 2003, and was banned last year from even contacting her daughter because a judge deemed her too unstable. Despite the ban, Courtney reportedly tweets her daughter many times a day.

‘She is going to be 18 on 15 August. Thank God, because then this whole palaver will be done. She lives in a mansion by herself. A 17-year-old getting $40,000 a month is outrageous to me, that’s on top of them paying for the mansion. She lives with her nanny, and Grandma Wendy and Kim [Kurt Cobain’s mother and sister] live two doors down, but there’s no drug testing going on. It’s a lot of money for a normal person. It’s enough money to kill her, if she is doing drugs, enough money to be gone by the time she’s 22…

‘I’ve been paying for Wendy’s upkeep and she wasn’t in Kurt’s will, but I really love Wendy and she was a terrible mother, but she is Frances’s grandmother. I bought her a house, I bought Kim a house, restaurants, f***ing horses, and like 50 grand a month and I’m still paying it, by the way. Next thing you know it was Thanksgiving and my daughter had gone.’ Is this true? Who knows. Courtney’s lawyer once confirmed Cobain left money for the benefit of his wife, daughter, mother and siblings; where all that money has gone is anyone’s guess.

Are they in touch, beyond the Twittering? ‘We don’t speak on the phone, but we went to court so that we could start this thing called Family Wizard where our e-mails are monitored, so there’s no restraining order any more.’

It must be heartbreaking. ‘Yeah. I bought her a Birkin for her 15th birthday.’ Did she appreciate it? ‘She damn well did!’ I read somewhere that Courtney wanted her daughter to be in her band. ‘No, I said that as a metaphor, that if she was in my band we would probably relate better, because I’m so maternal towards my bandmates. Frances is so beautiful, but she doesn’t want to be famous. She was offered the part of Bella in the Twilight movies, and Tim Burton wanted her for Alice in Wonderland. But she wants to go to college: she’s very good at graphic novels. Me and her dad, we used to communicate on our satchels with cartoons, we’d do cartoons of our love life… Frances will be fine, it’ll be fine. It’s very much about her trust fund, and they [the trustees] hate me.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Oh so Frances Bean, who has never acted before, was offered the role of Bella in Twilight? I’m so sure that’s true. This girl has done well to distance herself as much as possible from her insane mother. I’m just amazed that Courtney is still alive and performing. (Courtney even bragged that Gwyneth Paltrow would be attending her show. Ha! Here’s a recap of one of her recent performances, just for sh*ts and giggles.) Fingers crossed that Frances has enough good influences around her to escape her mother’s manic stranglehold. Since Courtney can no longer spread her crazy to Frances in person, she’s trying to use the media to do it for her. How reassuring that she thinks her daughter will have enough money to kill her. I’m sure Courtney would gladly take possession of that cash in the sad event that it ever lead to her daughter’s demise. Wait – isn’t that how she got all that money in the first place?

Courtney Love says daughter Frances Bean was the abusive one

wenn8436267

The NYDN’s Rush & Malloy got the strangest interview with Courtney Love over the weekend. It’s strange, first of all, because she sounds so coherent. Secondly, it’s weird because she’s talking about how her daughter, Frances “The Bean” abused her (rather then the other way around) and how Courtney has reconciled friendship-wise with Edward Norton. Oh, and the third weird thing: Courtney might be dating Uma Thurman’s ex, hotelier Andre Balazs…? What the hell? The stuff about Frances-on-Courtney violence is a sad story, but the stuff about Ed Norton is funny/interesting. Something about how Courtney’s cracked out delusions made her think that Norton had lost $300,000 of Courtney’s money when really he tripled her investment. How could Courtney not remember that?

Courtney Love may finally be on the cusp of happiness. With her first album in 10 years already looking like a hit, the Hole singer is closer to a reunion with daughter Frances, has made peace with old beau Edward Norton and may have a new beau lined up.

Let’s get to that last part first. The Love missile has been spending an awful lot of time lately with Andre Balazs, according to spies. The dashing hotelier, ex-husband of modeling czarina Katie Ford and ex-boyfriend of Uma Thurman, was seen with Love last week at the Mercer and the Minetta Tavern.

Love insists Balazs is just “an old friend and my sometime landlord.” Our spies say the friends looked like they should get a hotel room, which Balazs has plenty of.

Meanwhile, Love has been making nice with Norton. A few weeks ago, she went on Twitter to blame him for her allegedly losing $300,000 in a fund he told her to invest in. But Love has now tweeted that she was “wrong” and that he actually tripled her money.

“I feel very bad,” Love tells us. “I have the greatest respect for Edward. He could be the President of the United States. I could be his drug czar – ha, ha.”

Love says Norton also has been a “force of good” in serving as an informal communicator and mediator between her and 17-year-old Frances, whom a restraining order bars Love from speaking to. (A friend of Norton’s insists that his role in the drama has been minimal.)

Mother and daughter fell out last October after a donnybrook at their Tribeca apartment.

“I was talking on the phone,” recalls Love. “Frances came out of my room. She was hysterical. First she was crying at my legs, saying, ‘Why was I born?’ Then she bites and scratches and pulls on my hair. She punched me.”

A source who says she witnessed the confrontation corroborates that Love “never hit Frances. Not one time. All the punches were coming from Frances.”

Love says, “I grabbed her with both arms. That left a bruise and she took a picture of her bruise.”

By December, a judge had taken Frances away from Love and placed her in the care of the mother and sister of her father, rock god Kurt Cobain, who took his own life in 1994.
Love finds it “creepy” that Frances should be represented by Geraldine Wyle, who is also the attorney for Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, in Brit’s guardianship case. Love suspects Jamie convinced Wyle to retaliate against Love after Love claimed that a female member of the Spears family had told her Jamie had molested her. Wyle and a rep for Jamie both declined to comment.

“Geraldine told Frances all this pie-in-the-sky b.s. – that she’d get all this money,” charges Love, who at the same time understands her daughter’s confusion. “Look who her parents are! We were a little lax.”

Love has heard that, after two months away from Mom, Frances has told California child services “she wants to come home.” She tearfully adds, “I should have never gotten mad at her. I love her so much.”

Love believes “we’ll be back together” no later than August, when Frances turns 18 and becomes a legal adult.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for April 8. On April 27, Mercury releases Hole’s record “Nobody’s Daughter.” The first single, “Skinny Little Bitch,” was the most-added song on rock radio last week.

Love shrugs off ex-flame Billy Corgan’s threat to make trouble if she tries to release two songs they collaborated on: “Billy is talking out his a-. His people already gave permission.”

And word is director Bennett Miller is considering the “People vs Larry Flynt” actress for a part in “Moneyball,” co-starring Brad Pitt.

“Who gets a second shot at 45?” asks Love. “I’m a lucky bitch.”

[From Rush & Malloy]

Yes, Courtney is a “lucky bitch” much in the same way Lindsay Lohan is a “lucky bitch”. They’re both lucky to be standing relatively upright after consuming a massive amount of drugs. As far as the claims that Frances abused Courtney… what do you think? I don’t really know who to believe or how I really think this sh-t went down. My gut tells me that Courtney isn’t the kind of person to smack around her daughter. But when I ask myself if I think Courtney is capable of violence, my answer is a definite “yes”. On the other side, I do think Frances is a screwed up kid, and she probably blames her mother (correctly) for a lot of her problems. I really have no idea.

Courtney Love plans to “sue the holy sh-t” out of Frances Bean’s guardians

courtneylove

I’m not even going to attempt to go through the history of Courtney Love’s battle to either retain guardianship over her 17 year old daughter Frances Bean, or to shun Frances completely. Courtney lost custody of Frances back in December, and afterward that, Courtney has been ranting and raving to anyone who would listen, even though there’s some evidence that Love was maybe abusing Frances. One thing is for sure: Courtney is crazy, she’s gross, she’s disturbing, and Frances can find a million other better places to reside until she turns 18.

But that’s not stopping Courtney. She issued a new rant in an attempt to “expose… this sh-t with the bean…” Okay, I kind of love that Courtney refers to her daughter as “the bean”. I mean, yes, she’s crazy, but she’s also barely lucid enough to make a half-decent joke. Anyway, in an attempt to “expose” what’s happening with the bean, Courtney has resolved to “sue the holy sh-t out of them”. Them = the bean’s guardians, her grandmother and her aunt, on Kurt Cobain’s side. Here’s more:

Courtney Love lost custody last month of her 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean, who then got a restraining order against her. Now she is threatening a lawsuit against Kurt Cobain’s mother and sister, Frances Bean’s temporary guardians.

“This sh-t with the bean needs to be exposed for what it is right f-cking NOW enough,” she tweeted. “They squeesed my bank accounts so that they were frozen because they know im going to sue the holy sh-t out of them and now are … crocodiling my kid whose better than this seriously she was raised too well to be bought.”

In case the previous tweets raised any doubt, Courtney says she is sober.

“I’m severely lonely without my best friend and no am not on drugs BTW,” she tweeted.

Earlier this week Courtney surfaced on Twitter with topless pictures of her newly tattooed self.

Of course she’s not on drugs. Why would she even think that we would think that, right? I mean, isn’t this the face of sobriety? Now, I’m going to give Courtney a teeny, tiny bit of credit for one thing: I do think part of the motivation from the Cobain family is about money, and about the bean’s inheritance. Yes, the bean is better off without Courtney. But I would hate to see her with people who just view her as a walking trust fund too.

Domestic violence alleged in Courtney Love-Frances Bean custody hearing
Around Smashbox - Fall 2006 - Day 5

Ever since Courtney Love once again lost custody of her daughter Frances on Dec. 11, speculation about what prompted it has run rampant. Even Love herself heightened the rumors by insinuating that the entire courtroom battle was little more than a “deceptive” teen trying to get her own way. But latest documents filed by the Frances Bean legal team imply something far more serious than that. Perhaps this explains the restraining order granted to Frances?

New allegations in the Courtney Love/Frances Bean case — lawyers have asked to seal documents relating “to a minor and allegations of domestic violence.”

TMZ has obtained documents filed by lawyers for the guardianship that was established on Frances Bean Cobain’s behalf. As we first reported, a judge stripped Love of legal control over her daughter on December 11.

Now we have new docs filed by the guardianship asking to seal all court documents that relate “to a minor and allegations of domestic violence.” The papers do not get specific, but they do refer to sealing Frances Bean’s medical records. The docs also say, “In this proceeding, every document reveals details of Frances’s (sic) relationship with her mother.”

As we already reported the judge issued a temporary restraining order, prohibiting Love from having contact with her daughter. According to the new docs, the TRO “…restrains Courtney Love Cobain, from certain behavior and from coming within a certain distance of Frances and her guardians.”

I’m not even sure what to think about this. On one hand, Frances is a minor and her privacy needs to be protected. But if there is even a hint of abuse in her medical records, I think it should be taken seriously. Courtney Love is no stranger to physical altercations but one would hope that wouldn’t be the case with her own child. Whatever is going on, I am sure we won’t have to wait long for Mommie Dearest Courtney to rant about it in the social media forum of her choosing.

Courtney Love talks smack about daughter on Facebook, calls her ‘deceptive’

fp_3441053_cobain_frances_b
Courtney Love may have deleted her garbage-filled Twitter account, but she’s still on Facebook trying to vent her crazy on the world. Love wrote about recently losing custody of her 17 year-old daughter, Frances Bean, to the mother and sister of her late husband, Kurt Cobain. According to Courtney it’s all about Frances wanting to have access to her inheritance, at least I think that’s what she means. It’s always hard to tell with her:

She writes, “I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s— has lost her position… she was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself… My
daughter is not always honest.”

Love also insists her daughter isn’t as rich as she thinks she is: “The fact is fbc [Frances Bean Cobain] is deluded. She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has.

“Frances is clearly deluded that she can buy her grandmother a small house in la [Los Angeles]. I’d love to see how that works. They’ll incubate her (sic) til shes 18 and then have her sign all the (sic) indnemofications.

“Don’t worry, Frances is a wonderful kid, she’s got bad people around her and wants it both ways. You could’ve asked for emancipation… you realise this will put you in juvenile family circus three times in your little life? I love you and always will unconditionally.”

[From MSN Wonderwall]

So it’s Frances who is being deceptive because she wants access to her inheritance, which her mom says she’s never going to hand over. According to Bill Zwecker in the Chicago Sun Times, Courtney is dipping into her daughter’s money to buy drugs and that’s only part of the reason that Frances is bailing. There’s also the whole “mom is bombed out of her mind” issue.

My sources tell me the request for the change in custody actually was initiated by Frances Bean herself, who turns 18 in August.

According to documents originally revealed by TMZ, custody of Cobain has been handed over to her grandmother and Kurt Cobain’s mother, Wendy O’Connor, and her aunt and his sister, Kimberly Dawn Cobain.

Along with recent behavior ”even more crazy and erratic than usual,” there reportedly were significant, unexplained discrepancies in various accounts Love handled on behalf of her daughter — heir to an enormous fortune due in large part to ongoing Nirvana royalties. The fact that many of the checks were made out to “cash” added to speculation that Love used the funds to purchase drugs.

”For example, Courtney would suddenly bolt from a conversation, run outside — sometimes barely dressed — and jump in her car and drive away,” a longtime, long-suffering friend and former business associate of Love’s told me Tuesday.

Another source stressed that there are signs Love — who long has battled drug and alcohol addiction problems — recently was taking large amounts of prescription drugs ”like Xanax and Vicodin . . . enough to kill a horse.”

[From The Chicago Sun Times]

Remember when Courtney claimed last year that a crime syndicate had lifted $72 million from her accounts by stealing her late husband’s identity? That could have happened, but it’s just as likely that she somehow squandered, misplaced or miscalculated a massive fortune. Good for Frances for getting out when she had a chance. I hope that her money is kept far away from her drug-addicted mom. Time will tell whether Frances handles her finances better. Bad things can happen when 18 year-old kids suddenly have millions of dollars in the bank. Buying grandma a small house usually isn’t one of them, though.
