We’re splitting the AMAs fashion coverage into a few posts, (Kaiser’s previous coverage is here and here) and Christina Aguilera takes the lead today for several reasons. I have mixed feelings about this look. First off, this ombre purple Pamella Roland dress is an impressive choice for her. Her tits and/or ass aren’t hanging out, it fits properly, and it’s actually quite flattering. The dress, coupled with that very obvious pageboy wig, give a kind of “Barbie” effect, but that’s a minor complaint compared to her past looks. Her makeup is still very heavy-handed but it’s classier, and I really like the nude lip. That said, the wig is very cheap-looking and obvious, but it’s a real improvement from the Fraggle dip-dye hair she’s been sporting in various shades of awful. The style seems dated to me, I had that exact same hair in the early 90s, but again for her it’s decent. If only she could lay off the dayglow orange tanner and the body sparkle. Baby steps.

Next up, Ginnifer Goodwin, who has ruined any affection I had for her sweet as pie “Once Upon a Time” character by looking so consistently humorless and smug on the red carpet. She bugs me, and today is no exception. She’s wearing a peach Oscar de La Renta resort 2013 cocktail dress with sequins. They love this dress over at Red Carpet Fashion Awards, but I just find it more of the same from her. She wears something fashion-forward, puts on her best model face and thinks she’s avant garde. At least she dresses modestly and isn’t wearing Stella McCartney or Marchesa.

Jennifer Morrison was in a v-neck sparkly black Abed Mahfouz gown with cap sleeves and a high leg slit. Look at her working that leg like Jolie. This is an underwhelming dress, but she wears it well. I love her braided updo (she’s gone back to blonde!) and her makeup. See how far a smile goes to completing a look?

I can’t get a designer ID on Hayden Panettiere’s sparkly little dress, but it’s not all that different from what she wore to the CMA Awards earlier this month. Her matchy shoes are not cute. Hayden’s styling is pretty bad. Her hair looks like she didn’t wash it and just pulled it back, and those bright pink lips and gold eyes just look amateurish. Hayden was there with her latest boyfriend, a football player named Scotty McKnight. He looks like a boy bander. Downgrade from Klitschko!

Here we have some final photos from the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala Honoring Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick and sponsored by Gucci. Kaiser covered some of the bigger names on Sunday, and Bedhead brought us a few more this morning. To start I’d like to discuss the lovely Evan Rachel Wood, looking like a million bucks in Gucci. This bronze scaled sequin one shoulder dress illusion dress is so striking on her. Her hair, makeup and accessories are perfection. It’s all a little matchy but comes across as effortlessly coordinated. This is a young woman who knows what works on her, and who works different looks seamlessly without looking like she’s even trying. She’s a kick ass actress and a chameleon on the red carpet. I’m looking forward to great things from her. Check out her lovely engagement ring, she’s been engaged to Jamie Bell since around Christmas last year. Is a spring wedding forthcoming? Update: Radar reports that these two are getting married this week, and that they got a license on October 16th in Beverly Hills. I hope we get to see pics of their wedding! They’re such a cute couple.

Amy Adams was stunning in a bright yellow strapless Gucci gown accented with a rhinestone belt. I have similar coloring to Amy and I’m not sure that I could wear a dress this color. It’s washing her out a little, but she’s balancing it out somewhat with her gorgeous hair and understated makeup. Check out this photo of her below smiling and showing teeth, it’s cracking me up! It’s great to see her looking so loved-up with her husband, actor director Darren Le Gallo, on the red carpet. His facial hair is not doing it for me though.

Ginnifer Goodwin looks like she’s taking herself way too seriously on the red carpet. She doesn’t seem like such a bitter pill on screen and comes across as rather innocent and sweet, but maybe that’s down to her acting ability. We don’t have photos of her from inside the event, but JustJared does and she looks just as haughty there. Here she is in Gucci gracing us with her presence. I don’t think she pulls off this look, she’s giving me Black Swan meets Norma Desmond vibes, but with a little humor she might have. Goodwin is shown with her boyfriend and “Once Upon a Time” costar, Josh Dallas.

I love Jennifer Morrison but I have to say she looks a little Botoxy squinty here. I think it’s the combination of her hairstyle and black-rimmed eyes. That eye makeup trend really needs to go away, heavy black liner on the membranes of eyes only makes eyes them look smaller. You know who she looks like here, Bar Refaeli. That’s not a bad thing at all, they’re both lovely women. We might assume that Morrison’s bizarre pantshuit is Gucci, but I can’t get a definite ID on it. She’s got an amazing figure but this black suit is not that great. At first I thought it was a cutout dress, but it has pants and the stripe across the front is covered with a sheer white material that continues along the back. Morrison was also there with her “Once” costar, Sebastian Stan, whom she’s said to be dating.

Hayden Panettiere rocked a tight red vintage Moschino Couture sheath dress and a ton of cleavage at an Entertainment Weekly party celebrating the ABC upfronts this week. At first I thought that the bottom just featured some diagonal stripes, but The Fashion Patrol clued me in that it’s actually a “wraparound devil’s tail appliqué!”She looked hot, if a little cookie cutter with her new blonde extensions and boobs busting out. There’s been speculation in the past that Hayden had a boob job, but I think she just uses push up bras and/or chicken cutlet. Those things look boosted to high heaven.

I’m also wondering how long she’s had those extensions in, and it’s hard to tell because she often wears her hair up. Here’s a link to a photo of one of the last times she wore it down, in October of last year. What a difference in her look this is! I thought she was cuter before, but she’s sexier now that’s for sure. Hayden will star in “Nashville,” along with Connie Britton. This photo of her getting hugged by Britton is so cute.

Here’s Connie working a simple sparkly LBD with a mesh hemline. I just love her. She’s going to sing in Nashville! She plays Hayden’s country music rival. It seems like Connie and Hayden get along very well off screen, though. Hayden told E! that she’s a huge fan of Connie’s and that she loved her on “American Horror Story” and “Friday Night Lights.”

Does it look like Kelly Clarkson lost weight recently? It does to me. The last photos we saw of her were from just a month ago. I would bet she’s lost 10 to 15 pounds in the interim, although it could be just a more flattering dress. Kelly will be a mentor on a new ABC show called “Duets.” We only have this photo of her with Lana Parilla of “Once Upon a Time.” I can’t stand her character on that show, which probably means she’s a good actress considering that she plays the evil queen.

“Once Upon a Time’s” Jennifer Morrison was there with her new auburn hair in a black and white formfitting dress. This is how you do a peplum dust ruffle. It’s a great look for her.

Jennifer’s co-star Ginnifer Goodwin was in a fashion-forward Jonathan Saunders dress featuring a bizarre empire waist, a leather or PVC-looking pink-red top and a busy checked skirt. This isn’t cute. Ginnifer often wears contemporary styles and sometimes she takes too much of a risk.

Alyssa Milano stars in the new show “Mistresses.” She wore a black sleeveless flutter top and a black and white striped skirt with a large split up the front. I really like her and am happy she’s still working on TV. She usually doesn’t nail her red carpet looks, and I’ll leave it at that.

True story: Last week a friend was hanging out watching a “House” repeat which I wasn’t really paying attention to. I was doing other stuff, and when I turned to the TV I saw an actress who looked vaguely familiar to me whom I couldn’t place. (I was never a big “House” watcher.) Then I realized it was Jennifer Morrison with brown hair! Now I know Morrison well, I used to watch “Once Upon a Time” and I’ve covered her here several times. But she just looked so totally different with brown hair that it took me a while to register that it was her.

Morrison has of course gone blonde since her House days. (I was just checking our photo agencies, and she went blonde in mid 2007, right before her engagement to Jesse Spencer fizzled.) She just dyed her blonde hair to red for a new role in a film called Some Girls. She was gorgeous before (I love her in “Once,” her character is great) and now she’s a knockout! I think that red hair suits her well. Again, though, she looks like a totally different person. Like if she was just an acquaintance of mine I might not recognize her at first in person. It wasn’t easy to stand out at Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood party Wednesday night, with sexy stars including Kim Kardashian and Julianne Hough in attendance. But one actress managed to steal the spotlight with her shocking new look.

Jennifer Morrison, who’s known for her long blonde hair, debuted a dark red color on the red carpet at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, Calif. She wore a flirty black strapless Andrew Gn dress with silver detail and bright scarlet lipstick to complement her rich auburn hue.

“I’m doing a film called, Some Girls, so I’ve had red hair for 24 hours now,” the Once Upon a Time star revealed of her fiery ‘do.

Of being honored by Us for her classic, feminine style the beauty, 33, gushed, “It actually meant quite a lot to me. I tend to dress as comfortably as possible and in things that I really like and so the fact that other people like them too is really cool.”

US has a whole “celebrity style” section in their current print edition featuring their Hot Hollywood Style Winners. This must be part of the way they get celebrities to attend their event. Kim Kardashian was named “The Total Pro” (snort!), and Julianne Hough is “The Free Spirit.” Olivia Munn is “The Sexy Tomboy,” and Stacy Keibler is “The Breakout,” among others. (They must have not been able to meet Stacy’s appearance fee, because she didn’t go to the bash.) Jennifer Morrison was named “The Sophisticate,” which I could see. Sometimes she looks very well put together and elegant, but other times not so much. She’s human that way.

In terms of her hair color, I really like her both as a blonde and a redhead. That brown color doesn’t seem to suit her, but a deeper color in that shade with more tones might be.

I love “Once Upon a Time” but I didn’t get to see last week’s episode yet so no spoilers! It’s so nice to see Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Morrison seeming as chummy off-screen as they are on the show, although I hate to see them look like this. They were separate fashion misses in bizarre dresses that did nothing for them.

Goodwin was modern but fug in a fushia Roksanda Ilinicic dress that flared at the wrists. If you took the sleeves off this would just be a plain dress more suited for Sunday brunch than an awards show. I like her hair in those soft retro waves and her makeup is gorgeous. Those are some striking earrings she’s wearing. The shoes are just as bizarre as the dress, though, and look like they should at least have open toes. Not that they would make any sense with that outfit either way.

Morrison was old fashioned fug in white Oscar De La Renta with actual macrame-looking fringe at the hemline. This dress would have worked in another color and without the yarn hanging from the bottom like a dangling curtain tie. It’s so close to being amazing, but the fringe ruins it. Her makeup is really pretty and spot on, but that hair! The top knot is just too high, too full and too formal. I like both of these actresses and it’s a shame they didn’t bring it last night.

As a palette cleanser, here’s the always pretty Nina Dobrev of “Vampire Diaries” in bright green Elie Saab. I love everything about this dress except for the color. The fit and styling really flatter her, and I like that she went with subtle nude shoes and a nude clutch. I think her hair is pretty straight-ironed like that too. (Kaiser isn’t a fan of the straight iron, but I do it with mine a lot.) Dobrev won “Favorite TV Drama Actress” last night!

Carrie Preston of “True Blood” just phoned it in with this very short lace dress. She’s looking overly Botoxed to me too. I love her on TB, but she looks too much like her character here.

And Cheryl Burke wore the same Chagoury Couture dress that Anne Heche wore to a recent charity event. I think Cheryl wears it better actually. This dress is not my style and the pattern looks very 90s to me, but Cheryl is gorgeous here with that sideswept hair, the thigh high slit, and the cage-like bracelet. She may be a little overdone but she’s working it.

Here’s my favorite German celebrity, Heidi Klum, 38, in a silver cutout Giles Deacon dress paired with Nicholas Kirkwood python slingbacks. Just glancing at the thumbnails, I thought we were seeing Heidi’s bra through her dress. What we’re seeing is a blue lace bodysuit that’s not a feature of the dress. It’s bizarre, and while the dress is striking with that delicate pattern on silver, there’s too much going on with the lace underneath paired with those busy cutouts. The dress would look cleaner with a solid color under it to highlight the design.

I like the dress in theory and find it kind of amazing, but with those shoes and Heidi’s messy hair and grungy makeup it just doesn’t work. All she had to do was go easy on the eyeliner underneath her eyes and wear a simple black slip. She pushed the envelope though, and this time it just didn’t work.

In contrast, Jennifer Morrison really rocked that billowy Temperley London dress with gold Fendi peep toe heels. I might not like this dress with different styling, but her hair, makeup and those shoes are perfect. Red Carpet Fashion Awards, where we get a lot of our fashion IDs, points out that the runway version of this dress has cut out shoulders. (Have you been watching “Once Upon a Time” on ABC with Morrison and Ginnifer Goodwin? It’s cheesy but I really love it.)

Also in white we have Vanessa Minnillo looking a mess with a Snookie poof and a tight little dress with nude suede heels. I don’t mind messy waves in hair when it looks soft and tousled, but this bedhead wave look has got to go. Minnillo is trying too hard here.

Jane Levy and Cheryl Hines are both on Suburgatory, that new ABC sitcom also co-starring Jeremy Sisto. I watched the pilot and just found it hard to get into. Anyway Jane is cute in this strapless off white lace number, but those shoes have got to go. Cheryl looks ridiculous in that pale peach dress with the asymmetric hemline. Her hair is so bad too.

And I’m going to end with Alanis Morrissette in a black mullet dress with her husband, Soul Eye. These two are adorable together! I’m not a fan of that dress as it it has a bizarre cut and fit, but her shoes are gorgeous and I want them so much. I really like her makeup, but I can’t decide if I like her hair like that or not.

Last night, there was a screening for Warrior, that film that… (whispers) I kind of want to see. I know it’s a boy movie, I know I’ll probably hate all of the boxing/fighting crap. But it looks interesting. That being said, the star of the film, Tom Hardy, isn’t really selling me in these photos from the premiere. I know his head is shaved for Bane. I know he looks so meaty and Shrek-y for Bane. I know it’s just a temporary thing. But does he have to do the all-black gangster outfit too? He looks like a 50-something mobster with a prostate problem. Sigh… and I was back to liking him after that funny interview. Now I’m back to declaring him “The Anti-Biscuit Tingle”. Look at this grossness:

So because I’m not hot for Tom anymore, I can pay some attention to his Warrior costar, Joel Edgerton. Hello, sailor.

And here’s Jennifer Morrison (she plays Joel’s wife in the film) in a pretty party dress. She looks nice, but I’d like to see her go darker with her hair.

Wicked hot Jesse Spencer plays Dr. Robert Chase on Fox’s hit show House. He’s got an adorable Aussie accent and floppy blonde hair. His acting isn’t going to win any awards, but he’s so very pretty to watch.

On the show, he hooked up with another of Dr. House’s interns, Dr. Allison Cameron.

In real life, he hooked up with the actress who plays Dr. Cameron, Jennifer Morrison. They were engaged, but instead broke up in 2007.

On the show, their on-screen relationship is apparently still going on, but it’s hard to tell because both characters are way way way on the backburner ever since the show brought in new doctors for House to abuse. None of the new characters is as hot as Jesse.

Back in real life, Jesse has had the requisite gay rumors in the past, but now has a new girlfriend he was swooning over at the recent Emmy awards. Her name is Louise Griffiths. They were introduced by mutual friends two months ago, according to Star.

The 29-year-old Aussie “seemed very happy” when he escorted Louise Griffiths to the Entertainment Tonight Emmy party on Sept. 21, a source tells Star. “He was holding her hand and introducing her to everyone he knew. They acted like boyfriend and girlfriend.”

By-the-by, Jennifer is rumored to be dating Amaury Nolasco of Prison Break.

Jesse’s Dr. Chase had some good plotlines early in the show, but now he’s been regulated to occasional quips while doing surgery. They should give him more to do or just write him off so he can go be pretty on a movie screen.

According to IMDB, British actress Louise has appeared in a film called The Devil’s Chair and a British reality show called Fame Academy, which she didn’t win. She’s also listed in the cast of All’s Faire in Love, about competing Renaissance fairs.

Like Jesse, she was also previously engaged, to race car driver Jensen Button, but Button called off the wedding.

Another of House’s original dethroned interns, Dr. Foreman, played by Omar Epps, will be getting more substantial screen time, according to Michael Ausiello in the October 10 issue of Entertainment Weekly.

EW reports Foreman and Thirteen, played by Olivia Wilde, “are going to be spending a serious amount of time together,” according to executive producer Katie Jacobs. Will Foreman be able to cure Thirteen’s Huntington’s disease?

A million posters of Jesse Spencer adorned the walls of Australian teenage girls bedrooms in the 1990’s, when he was the number one hot guy on Neighbours. I wonder how many of the are excited to hear he has ended his engagement with Jennifer Morrison?

The couple, who met on the set of hit television drama House, today revealed they had called off their wedding, which was due to take place in Los Angeles later this year.

“After much consideration, we have decided not to get married,” the couple said in a joint statement today.

“We are still very close, and we look forward to continuing to work together on House.”

No reason was given for end of the engagement and it was not clear whether the couple had split.

A few weeks ago Jesse told InStyle wedding magazine that he and Jennifer weren’t living together, and wouldn’t until they got married. Given the uncertain future of the three doctors at the end of last season of House, I wonder if the engagement ending will effect the next season?

The engagement was called off at a very interesting time – Jennifer Morrison is pictured looking very beautiful on the cover of In Style Weddings this month! Maybe it is bad luck to see the bride in a wedding dress before the day.

That’s just cruel. The only engagement between co-stars that’s been announced recently is between House’s Jennifer Morrison and Jesse Spencer, and Spencer is Australian so it’s obviously about him. I never got the gay vibe from him, but that’s what these blind items are for – so they can insinuate things about people without getting into trouble. I’m not buying it.
