Amanda Bynes has been tweeting selfies for weeks now. She’s also been threatening to sue anyone who writes anything negative about her, and she’s been acting… odd. I’m quite sure she has legitimate mental health issues, but I also think (and perhaps I’m in the minority) that she’s “playing up” some stuff to get more attention. Anyway, she tweeted the above selfie on Tuesday with the message “About to put on makeup! I weigh 135, I’ve gained weight! I need to be 100 lbs!” She really does NOT need to lose any more weight. Over the weekend she was also tweeting selfies at the gym (the same gym that kicked her out? Dunno.) and she went OFF on Complex magazine:

I’m sorry, but that sh-t is funny. It would be funny coming from anyone. And you know what’s really scary? She has more control over her grammar, punctuation and spelling than Brandi Glanville, Lindsay Lohan and half of Hollywood put together. Anyway, since Amanda threatens to sue anyone who says anything about her, I thought we could discuss an actual interview she did in the new issue of In Touch Weekly:

The world — and more than 740,000 Twitter followers — has watched as Amanda Bynes appears to spin out of control. But in a rare interview in the new issue of In Touch, the 27-year-old actress insists she’s fine and blasts anyone who suggests otherwise.

“I have no clue [why people say I’m insane]. Every time I’ve heard it, it came from an ugly person’s mouth, so I don’t care,” the actress — who rocks cheek piercings and a tangle of blond hair extensions— exclusively tells In Touch, on newsstands now. “The only ones lying about me having a mental illness are people I don’t talk to.”

Amanda, who often stays up all night and tweets around the clock, says she has the support of unnamed friends. “I only have hot friends,” she says. “They have my back until I die.”

She also knocks down any speculation of issues with addiction: “I don’t drink. I’m allergic to alcohol,” Amanda tells In Touch. And though photos surfaced of Amanda with what looked to be a joint, the star insists she doesn’t smoke pot— only tobacco.

In recent months, Amanda’s frequent trips to the gym have sparked headlines about her bizarre behavior, from stripping down to her bra in spin class to reportedly smoking in the locker room. But Amanda says she’s focused on getting in shape. “I’m getting in shape for all the photo shoots.” Amanda tells In Touch. I like being 100 pounds… 21 to go!”

While she “retired” from acting at the age of 24, Amanda tells the mag she’s financially set. “I’ll design clothes and sing because I want to, not because I need the money. I love singing and I can’t wait to start working on an album.”

For what it’s worth, I kind of believe that she’s not really drunk or stoned out of her mind, although I’m sure she does smoke pot. I think most of this is just a chemical imbalance or something. Or maybe she’s just a narcissistic famewhore, because that’s the only other option. When you’re dropping lines like “Every time I’ve heard it, it came from an ugly person’s mouth, so I don’t care.” Somewhere, Dina Lohan is wishing she thought of that.

Incidentally, this is the second interview Amanda has given to In Touch in as many weeks. In last week’s issue, Amanda told the mag that she’s “in the Mary-Kate and Ashley type of wealth” category. The Olsens are worth a reported $300 million (probably more, actually). Amanda is maybe worth $4 million, if you don’t take into account all of the crazy bills she’s been racking up all over NYC. In Touch says that she’s spent $30,000 in one month – $11,000 worth of extensions (really?), luxury hotels and endless room service, plus shopping trips at Cartier, etc. Earlier this week, Radar claimed that Amanda wanted access to all of her money, which was invested for her by her parents and her business manager. Amanda has pitched a fit and her parents are apparently helpless.

Here are some photos of Amanda Bynes wandering around New York on Monday. Fame/Flynet asked, “What is Amanda Bynes smoking?” and they claim she’s got a “very suspicious looking hand-rolled cigarette.” But really look at it… doesn’t it look like she’s smoking a band-aid?! Which would explain a lot. I asked Bedhead and CB to look at the pics, and Bedhead thinks she’s smoking a wood chip, and CB thinks it might actually be the drug “spice” which is like synthetic marijuana and it looks like potpourri. Whatever is going on in these photos, it’s not good.

A lot has been written (on other sites) about the state of Amanda Bynes, about whether we’re seeing a C-list celebrity have a complete breakdown in real time, in real life, or whether this is all some sort of somewhat crazy but mostly famewhore-y excursion which Amanda has designed to get herself some press. My take? I think she has legit mental health issues AND she’s a famewhore. Like, those two issues are not mutually exclusive. She keeps tweeting random nonsense, threatening to sue people for reporting on her antics, she keeps insisting that she’s not mentally ill and she keeps posting selfies and the stories of her antics just keep getting worse. Page Six had a doozy a few days ago:

Amanda Bynes was asked to leave a gymnastics class after further episodes of bizarre behavior, witnesses exclusively tell Page Six. The former Nickelodeon child star stunned fellow athletes at the Adult Gymnastics class at Chelsea Piers when she “showed up in fishnets and a leotard that looked like lingerie.”

Onlookers said the staff became concerned about Bynes, who was “muttering to herself” and then “burst into tears when she attempted a cartwheel and her dark-colored wig fell off.”

One witness told us Bynes first turned up at the class alone about a month ago.

“She immediately started acting strangely,” our source said. “She lined up with the other gymnasts, and each took their turn to perform a roll. But Amanda just walked out on the mat, was spinning around in circles and mumbling to herself.”

Later, when the others were performing cartwheels, Amanda “did a cartwheel, but her wig fell off, and she sat down and cried.” The source added that after a number of other incidents where she was heard mumbling to herself or walking in front of others performing exercises, she was asked to leave.

The source said, “She went two weeks in a row, but the second time, she was escorted out. Staff were concerned about her manner and worried she might be a hazard to other people in the class.”

Bynes has been exhibiting some odd behavior recently, including writing some unusual things on Twitter.

“I have an eating disorder, so I have a hard time staying thin,” she posted on her Twitter feed Thursday.

Bynes appears to have a serious desire to lose weight. Last month, the retired 27-year-old actress called herself “pudgy” in a self-portrait.

She also told Us Weekly in February, “I moved to New York City, and I love it! I lost four pounds since I moved. I’m 121 pounds — my goal is 100 pounds.”

That would be unhealthy for Bynes, who stands 5-foot-7.

Amanda responded to this story on Twitter, writing: “I’m suing every blog saying I was kicked out of gymnastics. What is wrong w/ u people? What would u do if u found fake stories about u?” She also threatened to sue anyone who wrote that she had a mental illness too. So… famewhore it is.

Something nice: I’m glad she’s no longer in LA, where it seemed like she was living out of her deathtrap car and she kept getting pulled over for driving recklessly. I feel like pedestrians in LA are better off with Amanda in NYC. And now that she’s in NYC, we’ve gotten into the realm where the argument can be made that she’s mostly just a danger to herself. Weren’t her parents more involved in her situation when she was in LA? Is anyone trying to look after her at all while she’s in New York?

Oh, as for the situation with wig… Amanda claimed that she had like an evil twin with red hair who was going around and making her look bad. Seriously, she tweeted that.

I was doing the links that are at the bottom of every post (check ‘em out, we update them daily! They start with Mariah Carey today) and I found this funny/sad post by our friends over at Buzzfeed with the wackiest quotes from Amanda Bynes’ “25 Things”. When I first saw that story, I thought it was a parody because I just read the new US Weekly this morning and their “25 Things” is from the awesome Drew Carey. I guess Amanda Bynes gave them a “25 Things” and it was fit for the Internet but not their print edition. You’ll see why when you read it, it’s just sad. She gives brief, superficial anecdotes including the fact that she’s lost four pounds and wants to get down to 100 pounds – at 5’8″ tall.

121 pounds at 5’8″ tall is underweight, according to BMI measurements. At 5’8″ tall, a weight of 100 would be classified as “severely underweight.” I don’t know why I’m taking this poor girl seriously, all recent stories about her, and her instagram feed, indicate that she’s not well mentally.

But some of those aren’t bad. It comes across as a failed attempt to make Amanda seem sane. The latest stories about her involve her getting evicted from her New York City apartment after leaving the door open at all hours and replacing all the lightbulbs with red ones. She also smoked pot a lot, which we’ve already heard about her. Amanda is now reportedly living in a hotel.

I want to know about how she “survived” Hurricane Sandy. Did she just wait it out in her apartment or did she go somewhere else? I’m sure there’s an interesting story there, but I don’t know if she’s capable of telling it.

Kaiser and I were emailing about this, and she posed the question of whether some of Amanda’s recent issues (staying for hours in a hair salon, locking herself in various bathrooms and dressing rooms) were somewhat of a put on. Crazy Days and Nights floated this theory a few weeks back. We both agree that she has serious mental issues regardless, and I thought that this was further evidence of that, until I read the details. It sounds more like a “look at me” stunt, but with Amanda it’s hard to tell. She apparently walked buck naked out of a spray tan session in search of some goggles, going up to the receptionist’s desk without a stitch on. I’ve lived places where this would be perfectly acceptable, but Amanda knows it’s something that will get people talking here in the states. Here’s the story, thanks to In Touch:

After purchasing a Mystic spray-tan session, the 26-year-old was set up in a private room — but it wasn’t long before Amanda strode back out into the main salon area in search of goggles.

Only problem: She wasn’t wearing any clothes! “She walked out of the room completely naked,” the eyewitness tells In Touch. “She didn’t seem to care that everyone saw her naked.”

“She seemed totally out of it,” the eyewitness says. “She took her time walking back to the Mystic room, dragging her fingers along the wall and smiling at customers who passed her.”

The eyewitness adds: “There was definitely something wrong with her.”

If Amanda was sitting in the lobby nekkid for a couple of hours, just applying her makeup, I would say it was a definite mental health issue, but this is something else. This suggests she knew what she was doing, but again who knows? Amanda has done a lot of things that suggest she’s troubled. At least she’s still doing “ok” somewhat, for her. I mean she’s not driving anymore and she seems to be keeping busy, what with the spray tans and the shopping. I wonder if her fashion career is going to take off at all, and if she actually is moving forward with those plans.

In response to this story, Amanda told US Weekly that it was untrue and that they should leave her along because she’s rich or something. She said “I’m not ‘troubled.’ I don’t get naked in public. I’m 26, a multi-millionaire, retired. Please respect my privacy.” So we shouldn’t talk about her because she’s retired and has piles of cash in the bank? That makes no sense. At least she’s ok after Hurricane Sandy. It must be rough in New York, even if you’re uptown.

These are photos of Amanda Bynes out in NY on 9-29, trying to hide behind her shopping bag while talking on the phone. I kind of love her shoes. A few days ago, CDAN ran an item floating the theory that troubled actress Amanda Bynes, 26, was somehow faking her breakdown à la Joaquin Phoenix. They wrote that some people claim Amanda “has staged a lot of what has happened,” but that they personally don’t think she’s putting on a show. Amanda seems genuinely disturbed, judging from her multiple hit and runs, and her bizarre behavior in public. She regularly stays in bathrooms in public places for hours, even now that she’s in New York. Star Magazine has a new story that isn’t as worrisome, but still shows Amanda’s having issues. She test drove a Porsche for sale, despite the fact that she couldn’t drive a stick, and then asked the owner to drive her around like a chauffeur. That’s one way to avoid getting a cab when your license is suspended. Of course Amanda says she’s fine:

Amanda Bynes has been terrifying friends and family recently with her very public and bizarre antics. But Star spoke exclusively with the “retired” actress, who claims that she is doing “just fine.”

“There is no craziness,” Bynes, 26, tells Star when asked about her erratic behavior. “There’s no story there. It’s all lies.” But one man disagrees. The seller of a red Porsche met with Amanda after she saw his ad and asked for a test drive, insisting she could drive a stick shift. “That was certainly a lie,” says a source. “After a few blocks, the owner told her to pull over and drover her back to her car.” But the odd situation didn’t end there. “It got weirder. She asked if he would take her to The Home Depot to purchase some cleaning supplies. She clearly had no intention of purchasing the car. He was livid and told her to get out.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she denied everything,” an insider says of the incident. “She seems to be living in a fantasy world.”

Well I hope this all went down before Amanda’s license was taken away for good, but probably not. Amanda is now in NY pursuing some kind of fashion career, and The NY Post has a recent item claiming she was in the bathroom of a cupcake bakery for so long that a firefighter had to knock down the door. (It sounds like it was just a coincidence that he was there, although police were called.) That cupcake bakery story was run by Star Magazine last week, (it was in the print edition although we didn’t cover it) but it’s noteworthy that The Post is confirming it. Star claims the staff shouted at her from the other side of the door “please give us a sign if you are conscious” and she didn’t answer.

Bynes was spotted leaving Gotham Lasik Vision on West 57th Street last week wearing the trademark black glasses following Lasik eye surgery — sparking one onlooker to quip, “Perhaps she’ll claim in court she keeps crashing because she couldn’t see.”

A source close to Bynes said, “Amanda wants to stay in New York for a while. She was ordered to formally turn herself in to be booked for hit-and-run on Oct. 21 to be fingerprinted and have her mug shot taken, but her lawyers have managed to get an extension granted, and she doesn’t need to return to LA until November.”

The source added, “She says she’s here trying to take meetings with designers and fashion houses, but, really, she is a lost soul.”

Recently, the star acted in bizarre fashion at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop on Prince Street. A witness said, “She was wearing sunglasses at night, tiny shorts and high heels, just walking around staring at the cupcakes — for two hours.” Bynes then locked herself in the bathroom for half an hour before a concerned firefighter tried to force the door open. Our spy added, “She said, very calmly, ‘Oh, excuse me. I was doing my makeup,’ and left.”

I’ll say what I always say about Amanda – I hope she’s ok, I hope she gets help. She’s in NY now, though, she’s more likely to blend in there even as a celebrity. I’ll leave it at that.

First I should mention that Dina Lohan did an interview with Entertainment Tonight as part of damage control for her drunken disastrous Dr. Phil appearance. There are so many gems in there, and Kaiser will be covering it separately as a full story. We’re just going to focus on what Dina Lohan said when asked about what kind of advice she would give to Amanda Bynes’ parents. She said that they should just “be around,” basically, since that worked so well at keeping Lindsay out of trouble. Then she added that “she’ll be ok.” Just like Lindsay, right? She’s fine! Here’s what Dina said:

On if she’s upset that Amanda hasn’t had any consequences yet
“You know, I’m a mother, and I feel that that’s for her mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself, so I really feel that’s for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself.”

Dina’s advice to Amanda’s parents
“Just be around. … It’s hard when your daughter’s not, you know, over 18, and you want to let them go … and they want to, you know, feel like they’re in control of themselves. So it’s a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she’ll be ok.”

Dina’s “strategic place” to “be around” with Lindsay was out at the clubs, at the dermatologists getting their botox and fillers, and probably in some dingy bathrooms doing lines. I don’t want to speculate beyond that, although other things come to mind.

Getting back to Amanda Bynes, whose parents may have moved to California to keep an eye on her (reports vary as to whether they did it for her sake), she’s plead not guilty to the two counts of hit and run she was charged with. Also, we’ve heard that Amanda is now in New York, she moved there to start some kind of “fashion career,” so it’s not like her family can be around her there unless they fly out. Amanda’s lawyers entered this plea on her behalf since she’s on the east coast now. Amanda still has to face charges for DUI and two counts of driving on a suspended license. TMZ reports that she could get a year in jail on each count, although you know that’s not going to happen. This all sounds a hell of lot like Lindsay, except Amanda has gone silent and is trying to avoid the paparazzi. Plus we haven’t heard directly from any of Amanda’s family, except for a concerned uncle who spoke to Celebuzz. In that respect I think Amanda is ahead of Lindsay. I’m thinking Dina “being around” messed up Lindsay more than if she would have kept her distance.

As we’ve heard, Amanda Bynes is currently in New York city after fleeing LA and the paparazzi who follow her. The move has the added benefit of allowing her to wander around on foot instead of driving on a suspended license and continuing to rack up violations. There is one setback however – her nemesis Lindsay Lohan is also in New York. The last we heard about this feud, Lindsay tweeted that Amanda should face some consequences, while Amanda (allegedly) told TMZ off the record that Lindsay’s latest hit and run (as of publication) was “karma” and that Lindsay was “not cool.” So this rivalry between the two fallen former child actresses is on, and they’re very aware of each other. In an effort to avoid Lindsay while she’s also in New York City, Amanda is said to be calling stores, restaurants and especially hotels ahead to make sure that Lindsay isn’t there. This sounds like a lot of foresight for a woman who is behaving so strangely, and I’ll get to more on that in a moment:

“Amanda knows that Lindsay is currently in New York, and she is going to great lengths to avoid her,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “Amanda had contemplated staying at the Dream Hotel, but when she was told that Lindsay had been hanging out there, and it had been the scene of her most recent arrest, she crossed it off her list and is instead staying with some friends.

“Amanda knows the press would go into a feeding frenzy if she and Lindsay were in the same place, so she is calling ahead to restaurants and stores to make sure that Lindsay isn’t there. Amanda just wants nothing to do with Lindsay and doesn’t know why she was commenting on her legal troubles when Lindsay is no saint herself.”

As mentioned, this makes it seem like Amanda is entirely cognizant of her surroundings and is planning ahead, while other stories we’ve heard recently suggest otherwise. This week’s US Weekly has some more anecdotes about Amanda’s odd behavior that I haven’t seen elsewhere. They also confirm that she really hates Lindsay and calls her “that bitch Lindsay.” That’s a pretty mild way to refer to The Cracken. Here are some excerpts from US Weekly’s print edition story on Amanda. Note that these are different incidents than the time she applied makeup and stripped to a bra in spin class or the time she spent over two hours in a store dressing room.

Open all night, Park Avenue’s Hair Party 24 Hours gets its share of interesting clients. But even the seen-it-all staff was alarmed by the young woman who drifted in at 2:30 AM on September 22, muttering to herself. “It took a while for us to realize it was Amanda Byes,” says a worker at the NYC shop. “She was staring in the mirrors around the room, completely on her own.” Finally she left, turning up that afternoon at beauty store C.O. Bigelow downtown. “She was talking to the light fixtures and singing loudly,” a source says of Bynes, 26. “And she tripped on the way out…”

At the gym… she spent an hour in a locker room attaching false eyelashes while belting out Usher’s “Without You.” Dolled up, she then sat down on a treadmill with her small mirror, says a source. “She applied way too much lipstick…”

“I need to make myself pretty,” Bynes declared repeatedly at Dari Boutique in L.A.’s Studio City, per a stunned store onlooker. “She was frazzled and her face looked all picked apart. She went to the bathroom and stayed in there for 45 minutes, putting on makeup and doing squats.”

On how she hates Lindsay
“She obsessively hates Lindsay [Lohan],” says the Bynes pal. “She rambles about ‘that bitch Lindsay,” all the time… A rep for Lohan insists “there is no feud.”

It sounds less like “move that cone” for Amanda and more like Britney Spears-level stuff. These stories sound like she’s having some serious, ongoing issues. I just hope some family or friends are helping her. It’s reassuring that Radar claims she’s staying with friends, although who knows what they’re up to or if they’re the kind of friends who can help her.

Here’s a little break from the Emmy coverage to focus on a celebrity who obviously needs help. The last we heard about Amanda Bynes, she had gotten into a scuffle with a paparazzo who refused to delete a photo he had taken of her. She said to him “you have to delete the one of my face, I have to look beautiful.” A little later in the video posted on ETOnline, he accused Amanda of pinching and scratching him in an attempt to grab his camera. She denied doing either and just kind of left the scene. The photographer seemed to be harassing Amanda, and she actually sounded calm in comparison.

Amanda told People Magazine that she was going to move to New York to pursue a career in fashion, and she seems to have done just that. As you probably heard, her car was impounded last week after she was busted driving on a suspended license. On Friday, she was officially charged with two counts of driving on a suspended license. But – her license was supposedly suspended for failing to pay multiple traffic tickets, not in relation to her DUI and several hit and run incidents. I only hope that means that her violations are piling up, not that they’re more minor that we expected and that her hit and runs will be overlooked. This is LA, though, so it’s not like we can expect her to get a full six months in jail for each charge.

Anyway Amanda was spotted in NY, where she supposedly wandered around for “hours.” Maybe she was shopping and hanging out, and at least she’s not driving. Sources tell TMZ and Radar that she’s planning on making the move permanent. Here’s more:

But get this — Amanda is telling friends the reason she jetted off to New York is because she was tired of being followed in L.A. — something she says doesn’t happen in NYC.

Bynes now tells friends she NEVER wants to come back to L.A, which is interesting timing considering her parents JUST moved to CA from TX to be closer to their daughter.

TMZ broke the story … Amanda was slapped with two counts of driving on a suspended license on Friday. She faces up to six months in jail for each offense.

Radar and TMZ differ in how they report Amanda’s family situation. TMZ claims her family moved to LA to be closer to her and somehow help, even though that doesn’t seem to be happening. They say that Amanda refuses to talk to her parents and has been estranged from her family, including a brother and sister, for some time. Her friends are supposedly “furious” that her family is not doing more to help her. Radar agrees that Amanda and her family don’t talk, but reports that Amanda’s parent have lived in California for some time. In Radar’s version they didn’t move there specifically to be there for her. Whatever is going on, Amanda has headed to NY anyway so it’s not like she has any kind of support system to fall back on – that we know of.

In a way I’m glad that she’s no longer going to be hounded by the paparazzi in LA, they seem to be making the situation worse for her. In another it seems like she truly needs some help and that she’s just trying to avoid it. If her family isn’t helping her in LA, I get the sense they’re not going to even bother now that she’s on the east coast. Plus, it’s not like she’s going to accept any kind of help that isn’t forcible.

Do you remember when Britney Spears was losing it before her big head-shaving umbrella incident, and when she used to drive around aimlessly for hours and talk in a British accent? She had a weird symbiotic relationship with the paparazzi hoard that was following her, and she even dated a paparazzo for a while. (And there were inevitable sex tape stories, but I digress.) That’s what I’m reminded of when I see the video (at this link) of Amanda Bynes going off on a photographer. The guy is bugging the crap out of her and is super rude, as they are. Amanda tries to reason with him and asks him to delete a photo she thinks is unflattering. It’s hard to tell exactly what’s happening, but then she poses for him, a scuffle happens and she tries to grab his camera. At the end of the clip he accuses her of scratching his neck with those talon nails of hers. (I think they’re fierce actually, I would do that with my nails!) It bothered me to see, because it seems like she’s having mental issues when she talks about how she doesn’t like photos taken of her face. Maybe she’s just trying to control photos of herself and doesn’t want to get papped, though. You can see why she hates the paparazzi and hides from them when they act like this.

The struggle caught on tape began with Bynes walking down Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, shielding her face when she realized she was being photographed. Apparently the star didn’t like the way she looked, and tried to reason with the paparazzo and flatter him into deleting the pics, agreeing to pose for a new set. What happens next turns ugly, as it appears there’s a struggle over control of the camera.

The melee ends with the pap yelling that the star hurt him, with Bynes calmly saying, “I didn’t touch you.”
Bynes has become a paparazzi magnet ever since her car was impounded following a citation for driving on a suspended license – suspended after a series of fender benders and accused hit and runs in addition to a DUI charge for the star.

I don’t want to get into a whole chicken and egg scenario of where Amanda started having problems and when the paparazzi came in. The paparazzi don’t cause celebrities to have mental issues, but they flock to the ones that are having them like fleas on an old dog. This photographer’s behavior is unacceptable, and Amanda probably deals with that crap now whenever she leaves the house. It makes me feel for her actually. That and the fact that she’s not trying to say anything publicly about how Lindsay Lohan is a hypocrite degenerate who should never utter her name.

As for how Amanda is doing otherwise, we’ve heard plenty of stories about her acting bizarrely, most recently in a spinning class when she stripped down to a bra and applied makeup in front of everyone. TMZ reports that Amanda’s entire management team – her agent, publicist, and entertainment lawyer – have all dropped her as a client. They claim “According to one source, all 3 members of the team made multiple efforts to help Amanda before she went radio silent — but Bynes was not receptive. Eventually, the team decided to cut bait … acknowledging they can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped.” Apparently Amanda wants to go into fashion and considers herself retired from acting, which is what she told People yesterday. Well, at least her parents are around her now, allegedly.

If you have some time to kill and would like to go over a dated list of Amanda’s legal problems and terribly driving record, MTV has compiled a very good timeline. They didn’t even include this latest scuffle, which happened after the published. Also, we heard a while ago that she was supposed to personally appear in court today, but I don’t know if that’s still happening as her lawyer was just there on her behalf on Wednesday.

Amanda Bynes called People Magazine recently to set the record straight. (Read: deny everything while trying to act like nothing happened.) Unlike Lindsay Lohan, she’s no longer tweeting constantly, which can make her seem much saner than her actions belie. To People, Amanda claimed she was doing “amazing,” that she is switching into a career in fashion, and that she’s moving to New York. Here’s what she said, and she repeated the old “I don’t drink and drive” claim that she wanted Obama to use as evidence from which to fire her arresting officer.

“I am retired as an actor. I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line,” added Bynes, who was polite, respectful and upbeat on the phone. “I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don’t drink, and I don’t drink and drive. It is all false.”

The rest of People’s article went on to recount an incident in which Amanda stripped down to a regular non-sports bra during a spinning class at the gym, ignored the workout, and proceeded to apply makeup and fix her hair, leaving 10 minutes later as if nothing happened. Their source called her a “mess.”

TMZ confirmed that spin class story with some more details, or they just cribbed it from People, it’s hard to tell.

TMZ reported yesterday that Amanda’s parents have leased their home in Texas and moved to California to keep an eye on their daughter. As of now, they’re not considering a conservatorship. Amanda’s uncle previously told Celebuzz that Amanda dad hasn’t talked to her in some time and will change the subject if someone tries to talk about her. It is thought that Amanda wasn’t in touch with her parents.

The judge in Amanda’s DUI case (She previously had same judge as Lindsay Lohan, a female judge named Judge Revel, but TMZ used the male pronoun so she may have a different judge at this point), has stated in court that if Amanda drives on her suspended license and breaks any road rules there will be a high bail set for her. Amanda’s lawyer was in court on her behalf on Wednesday, and she didn’t attend. We’ve heard that she’s been ordered to personally appear on Friday, but we’ll see if that happens.

Meanwhile do you remember how Lindsay Lohan got all indignant that nothing has happened to Amanda Bynes yet, even though Bynes has yet to appear in court to face charges? Well now that The Cracken got arrested for a pedestrian hit and run, Bynes allegedly thinks it’s “karma” and that Lindsay is “not cool.” If you ignore the high potential for each of these women to cause vehicular homicide, and the possibility that one or both of them is mentally ill, this is a pretty amusing celebrity feud.
