Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially hired a high-powered divorce attorney, just two weeks after the news came out that this now-estranged wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, hired her own celebrity divorce attorney, Laura Wasser. Arnold has retained Bob Kaufman, who has represented Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson in their divorces. This is a real turnaround for Arnold, whose last public statement had him saying he still loved Maria and sounding like he was holding out for a reconciliation. This was of course before all that “lovechild” business broke and before we heard other sordid details about all the women Arnold was screwing on the side. Surprisingly, only one other mistress has come out publicly, though, suggesting that The Governator either kept it in his pants most of the time except for the maid (unlikely) or paid off his side pieces to keep quiet, as he did with the housekeeper.

Yesterday Arnold was seen outside a hotel in Santa Monica, where he met with his daughters Christina, 19, and Katherine, 20, for about an hour and a half. Paparazzi agency X17 is speculating that it was a “divorce pow wow” in light of the news that Arnold has hired a lawyer. That’s likely, although we have no way of knowing what they discussed.

The Huffington Post reports that the “Schwarzenegger-Shriver divorce could be one of the most expensive celebrity divorces to date, with their combined net worth estimated at $500 million.” That’s a lot of money to divide. We still haven’t heard anything about Mel Gibson’s divorce, and his net worth is somewhere significantly north of that at around $900 million.

Maria Shriver stepped out on Tuesday without her wedding ring. There were also photos of her on Memorial day without her ring, but this time she held her left hand up for the paparazzi to send a clear message that she wasn’t clinging to her marriage in any way. It looks like Arnold has come around on that issue as well. I’m kind of surprised that he’s facing reality. He’s been leading a double life for years, but now that he’s been caught I find it hard to believe that he’d just concede that he needs to get a divorce. He must have been so deep in denial and delusion for years and that doesn’t just go away when someone gets busted.

It’s Wednesday afternoon here on the East Coast, which means that this week is about half over and that it’s not too long until the tabloids come out, yay! Today we’re treated to the cover of Star Magazine, which is just about the best one that I’ve seen on the Arnold Schwarzenegger scandal yet. He’s groping a chick in a sexy cop costume and she looks just his type – big, brunette and busty. I’m sure there’s a whole cadre of women he was with in the over two decades he was married to Maria. Star puts a number on it: 32 more, as if they have a super inside source who kept track of Arnold’s wandering d*ck over the years. I doubt he was down to less than two a year when he was married, and 33 is probably just the number of women that Star and Radar were able to estimate.

As for the “two other” love children claim on the cover, that’s something that actress Jane Seymour said she was told by a friend. A biographer of Arnold’s claims to have found six women who have had babies by him, as we’ve already heard.

Hollywood Life has advance details of the Star report, and Star and Radar have some very good dirt on this scandal. They claim that Maria has known about the child her husband fathered by the maid for years, and that she first found out about in 2006. That makes no sense to me, because logic dictates that she would have fired the housekeeper the minute she found out. Star also recounts an alleged encounter that Arnold and Mildred were having in the bedroom when they got busted by Maria – just a few weeks ago! Now didn’t Mildred “retire” back in January, right around the time that Maria left the house? This could have happened in January, which is more than just a “few weeks,” but it’s Star so I’m not counting on it.

According to Star, Arnold also paid Mildred $10k a month child support on top of the $1k a week she made for working for his family. Now that, I believe:

Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s love child with mistress Mildred Baena was not a surprise to wife Maria Shriver it seems, in fact she has now about him for years! Star reports that Maria, noticing the similarities between Mildred’s son and Arnold, actually confronted her maid, and Arnold’s lover, in 2006! A source tells the mag, “Mildred confessed that her child was fathered by Arnold … and vowed it would never happen again.” This, however, was not the case.

Maria decided to stand by Arnold despite this news, but that all changed weeks ago when Arnold and Mildred were caught together in bed. “They found Arnold in bed, naked and under the sheets — and Mildred scurrying into a closet,” says a source. “Mildred insisted she was merely cleaning up and dusting.” Ummmm, yeah.

Upon learning his affair was still going on Maria decided to end her marriage with Arnold, and Arnold in turn contacted Mildred and instructed her to no longer come to work. Mildred could have chosen to go public with the story for money, even though Arnold was giving her a rumored $10,000 a month, but she choose not to so as to protect Arnold.

I could see Arnold getting his freak on during the day with the maid for like 20 years and continuing until the moment he got busted. I could also see Maria buying his claim that it was over, but I doubt she would let the woman continue to work for her. I just don’t think it’s true that she’s known about the child since 2006.

Getting back to this sleazy picture on the cover of Star, it reminds me of a series of photos that Gawker published years ago before this scandal. One featured a then-single Arnold fingering a woman and smiling for the camera with other people around. (Here’s the link to that photo, but warning it’s gross!) And we’ve already heard about him brag about group sex. So this isn’t surprising, it’s just skeevy and sad. For years he played it off like that was all in his youth and he was this changed family man running the most populated state in the country. What took the press so long to dig this up?

The NY Post has a piece that brings a sad sense of reality to the Arnold Schwarzenegger secret kid scandal. Apparently Arnold’s 13 year-old son had no idea that Arnold was his father, and used to call his mom’s boyfriend “dad.” Members of the woman’s family didn’t even know that her son was Arnold’s, including her sister and mother, who both worked for Arnold too. Like so many other women in his orbit, Arnold is said to have groped those two employees, but they just put up with it and aren’t thought to have put out like the maid who secretly had his son.

Maria Shriver wasn’t the only person kept in the dark about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child — the boy himself never knew his father was the Terminator.

Arnold baby mama Mildred “Patty” Baena never told the child — now 13 — that the “True Lies” star was his dad, even though Arnold showered him with gifts and put a down payment on his family’s home, a source close to Baena’s family said.

The boy’s Bakersfield neighbors said he would even refer to Baena’s current beau, Alex Aguiar, as his dad.
“He had no idea” about the truth, the source said.

The “Kindergarten Cop” star was forced to humiliatingly admit to fathering a child out of wedlock this week. Before then, Baena’s close family didn’t even know who the boy’s dad was, including her sister, Miriam Peña.

The family’s lack of knowledge was especially shocking since both Peña and Baena’s mother, Evelyn Peña, 76, also worked for Arnold. Miriam’s family says she still works for Arnold, even after the revelations.

The baby mama’s family is mostly upset with Patty — and feels sympathy not for her, but for Shriver.

“Maria would always make sure to help us, even with little things, gifts, Christmas stuff, things like that, and now we end up making her go through this crap because of Patty. It’s not cool,” the family source said. “The family is not happy with Patty right now because she never told us or warned us and now we have to deal with all this attention.”

Most relatives presume the boy now knows the truth, but they are not sure what Baena has told the boy about his parentage since this week’s stunning news broke…

Meanwhile yesterday, sources close to Baena’s family told The London Sun that Arnold also groped the mother and sister of his love child’s mom while they were working for him.

“He would touch all their backsides while they were doing the housework,” the sources claimed to the paper. “He flirted with all of them, even the mother.”

That’s incredibly sad if this kid had to learn about through the press. I hope his mom told him ahead of time and prepared him for it. The woman and her son have not returned to the home that Arnold helped purchase for them with a down payment last year. They’ve stayed out of sight since the scandal broke.

A friend of mine was telling me that Maria issued a statement that she wasn’t “bred to look the other way,” but my friend was sort-of wrong because that’s what Maria said to Oprah Winfrey back in 2003 when Arnie was running for governor and was trying to dodge all the rumors that he was a womanizing bastard who groped women. Whatever Maria knew about Arnold’s cheating over the years, she’s said to have been “completely betrayed” to learn that he’d fathered the maid’s son. E!’s Ted Casablanca has some quotes from a “source” close to Maria who says that what he did to her is unforgivable, particularly since she put her career on hold and vouched her him during his campaign. “She got him elected, remember? Unless Maria stood by that man’s side and played the good wife. I guarantee you he would not have been elected. There were too many questions about him.”

Maria has hired a divorce attorney and she’s been spotted out without her wedding ring. It looks like she’s ready to divorce Arnold and move on. Meanwhile he has put all his pending movie projects on hold, and that “Governator” animated series and comic book he had planned has been scrapped too. The idea of a governor with a secret double life was looking pretty ironic in light of this scandal.

There are all sorts of stories about Jesse James and his epic lying and cheating in the tabloids this week. Kaiser and I were debating whether we should give the douche any more attention after some of the ridiculous and transparent things he’s said while promoting his ego fest of a memoir. I think it’s still worthwhile to point and laugh, but if you disagree just let me know.

First off is this story about Kat Von D, Jesse’s fiance who he claims understands him so much better than Sandy ever did despite the fact that she was married to him for five years and cared for the children he had from two other women. Star got some very catty and funny quotes from Kat’s former office manager, who says that Jesse and Kat split up this fall for a few months as has been rumored, and that they canceled a wedding date they’d scheduled a while back. This is consistent with a report drom Radar this February that Kat and Jesse were going to get married within a month.

Liz Friedman, a former shop manager on Kat’s TLC show, told Star that the two canceled a secret wedding date. “They were supposed to be married months ago,” Liz dished. And she believes Jess is not the right man for Kat. “If I had to bet, there’s no longevity there,” she told Star. She also revealed that Jesse and Kat quietly parted ways in the fall and remained apart for a few months. “[Mutual friends] told me that she was fed up and done with him but then they got back together,” Liz continued… So what keeps them together? Liz offers a brutally candid assessment. “I think she’s very lonely and doesn’t have a lot of friends. And I think with Jesse he’s kind of rebounding from Sandra.”

This one will implode and Jesse will look like an idiot, after which he’ll go to any outlet that will talk to him and will trash Kat. It’s predictable and will probably happen before the year is out.

Meanwhile both Radar and The Enquirer have quotes from Jesse’s porn star ex, Janine Lindemulder, who is writing a tell all about her time with him. She’s a shady character and has spent time for tax evasion in federal prison, during which Jesse took the opportunity to take custody of their young daughter. He’s been working to keep Janine away from her daughter ever since, although it’s hard to tell if she’s the wronged party as there is evidence that she has a drug problem.

The Enquirer has Janine saying that Jesse cheated on her while she was pregnant no less, with Sandra. His side of the story is that they were separated, and that’s probably the line he fed Sandra too. A “source” claims that Janine and Jesse were having problems but that they were still married, together and trying to work it out. The article claims that Jesse and Sandra were dating for at least a month before Jesse split up with Janine.

To Radar, Janine said that Jesse called her up in a panic about two weeks after he married Sandra claiming he’d made a mistake. She also alleged that he tried to send her sexy text messages, as was his M.O. She’s said similar things in the past about how James kept hitting on her after he was married to Sandra, so I don’t doubt her. We’ve seen what a scumbug he is, it’s just a shame that it took so long for Sandra to find out about it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has put all his pending moving projects, including that umpteenth Terminator sequel he was slated for, on hold until further notice. The cheating scandal has basically derailed his plans for a movie comeback (of sorts) after leaving his post as Governor of California in January. Ten to one there are at least a handful of women this guy cheated with who are about to come out of the woodwork. We just heard from one who gave some pretty sordid details to the Enquirer.

It was just over a month ago that Arnold announced his plans for an animated 3D “Governator” movie, which he planned to make into a franchise with a comic book, TV animated series, a video game and eventually a film. He was supposed to promote it at Cannes, but we know how that worked out for him. Now that his reputation is shot he’s voluntarily withdrawn from that project along with everything else he had in the works.

Amid the fallout of his split from wife Maria Shriver and the news that he fathered a child out of wedlock, Arnold Schwarzenegger has ceased all acting projects, including his anticipated return to the Terminator franchise.

“At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice,” Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Schwarzenegger and a partner at Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal, LaViolette, Feldman Schenkman & Goodman said Thursday.

“Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines,” the statement from Knapp continues. “This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.”

As for how Schwarzenegger is doing in the wake of the scandal, a source close to him tells PEOPLE, “He feels very bad about the situation. [He is] fully prepared to do whatever he needs to do to rebuild [his family's] trust.”

While Arnold is saying how much he loves Maria and wants her back, I hope she’s finally ready to wash her hands of this ass who cheated on her and lied to her for over 25 years. They have kids together and will have to continue to coparent, but hopefully this will convince her to divorce him and get on with her life.

Yesterday I read an editorial in the NY Daily News that this whole cheating scandal might not hurt Ahnuld’s career. At that point no one knew he would try and put a hold on his career to save his marriage, and it was generally thought that some cheating shouldn’t be a big deal in Hollywood. As some of you have pointed out, Arnold doesn’t endorse any products and now that he’s no longer Governor he’s not being held up as a standard of morality, which seems to be lower for actors anyway. It’s not like he’s racist, abusive, on drugs or has a sex tape out. Still, that doesn’t mean he’s not going to feel the fallout pretty hard, especially if he is operating under the delusion that his wife is going to forgive him. He should have focused on his career and realized that he screwed his marriage away decades ago.

Check out this trailer for The Governator. They use his biographical details and that’s even a close replica of his mansion. It’s funny if you imagine him screwing the maid in that superhero outfit. What an ego this douche has. This was just a small part of his career plans after leaving the Governorship. He still thought he was a big action star too.

The Arnold mistress that got lawyered up with Gloria Allred, Gigi Goyette, has gone to the National Enquirer and given a very detailed account of her affair with Arnold Schwarzenegger, which began when she was just 16 and was rekindled many years later when he was newly married to Maria Shriver. They supposedly had a seven year affair, with sex sessions that sometimes went down right under Maria’s nose. Gigi says that Maria had no clue, and that she met her and Maria was very nice to her. Plus Gigi had a female friend who confessed to sleeping with Arnold too, and she suspects he was sleeping with at least one other woman. Goyette gave the Enquirer some cheesy bikini photos of herself and she looks pretty trashy and fame-hungry. She also has photos with Arnold to support her side of the story. She’s probably the second in a long line of women we’re about to meet. As we heard earlier today she’s also told the British press she knows of at least a dozen other women that Arnold slept with during his long marriage to Maria.

For all of you who have questioned what Maria knew – I believe that she could have been in the dark this whole time. Smart women have been fooled by sweet-talking cheating husbands since the beginning of time. It’s our tendency to trust the men we love and there is no reason to trash Maria because of her famous political family and misplaced loyalty. (In hindsight.)

However, I do have to mention that the Enquirer’s source claims to have secondhand knowledge that Maria found out about Arnold’s affair with a friend of hers. That detail is near the bottom of the quoted text below. Maybe she thought it was an isolated thing and that he’d gotten it out of his system. Who knows what kind of lies he fed her.

All that flew out the window the next year
Gigi returned to the same event the following year and checked into [a hotel]. Her heart sank when Arnold arrived not only with his wife, but his in-laws…

“I was in the lobby when they walked in, and Arnold introduced me to all of them. Maria shook hands with me. She was polite and friendly, but I was dying!”

Later that night, the group met in the bar and smoked cigars, Gigi said.

“Finally, Maria left and Arnold whispered to me. ‘Go to your room. I’ll see you there,’” Gigi recalled.

When he showed up, Gigi expressed her worries and meeting in the same hotel where his wife was staying.

“But Arnold took me in his arms and neither of us could deny our strong attraction,” she said. “He stayed with me for an hour and we had the most amazing sex session. Then he went back to Maria.”

On how he invited her to the Total Recall set but was screwing an actress there too
Arnold invited Gigi to Mexico City where he was still making “Total Recall,” she said.

She flew down with her mother, and after they had a sushi dinner with Arnold, he called Gigi in her hotel room and invited her to his room for another “nightcap.”

“I gave him a massage and we made love for two hours until he made the excuse that he had an early call on the set.”

But the trip ended badly when Gigi suspected that Arnold was having an affair with an actress.

“I was supposed to have dinner with Arnold one night, but he canceled at the last minute. I found out later that he was having a ‘private rehearsal’ with an actress instead.”

Her friend was sleeping with Arnold too and Maria found out
Gigi claims she got hit with a huge bombshell while having dinner with a new pal…

“My friend said she’d made love with Arnold in a car. But somehow Maria found out. Arnold then got rid of the woman,” Gigi said.

Gigi ended her affair with Arnold in 1996 after falling in love with another man.

This is a small glimpse into Arnie’s M.O. He introduces a lover to his wife like she’s just a friend and then screws her for an hour and goes back to his wife. He invites a mistress to join him in Mexico even though he’s married, and then proceeds to ignore the mistress for some actress he’s screwing on the side too. It’s all really skeevy and underhanded, and there’s no reason to blame his poor wife for sticking by him and believing him. We don’t know how he acted behind closed doors or what he told her.

Update: As Roma pointed out in the comments, the mistress claims that she suspected Arnold was having an affair with an actress in his 1990 film Total Recall, with whom he had a “private rehearsal” session one night. His costars included Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin, who is now on Law and Order: LA. He seems to have a preference for brunettes, not that it matters, and Sharon is a blonde. Ticotin was single at the time.

In our last story on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s housekeeper/mistress/secret baby momma, three of you mentioned that she would probably lawyer up and hire Gloria Allred. (After a lot of wooing on Allred’s part of course.) Well Allred has scored another one of Arnold’s “alleged” mistresses as a client, and that woman claims that she knows of at least thirteen of Arnold’s mistresses. This is a Tiger Woods level scandal, and it involves the man who controlled the eighth largest economy in the world for the last eight years.

According to Radar, a actress named Gigi Goyette has hired Allred, and has stated that she first had sex with Arnold back in 1975 when she was 16 and he was 28. That makes it statutory rape, although the statute of limitations has long since passed. They met up again in 1989 when he was married to Maria. Goyettes details one of their romps in which she once had sex with Arnold “in her hotel room while Maria was in another room on the same floor.”

We’ve also heard about a flight attendant who allegedly had an affair with Arnold. She’s denied that her son is Arnold’s and claims that a DNA test proves that he’s not.

Meanwhile the housekeeper mistress story rages on. There are plenty of photos and details coming out about Arnold’s relationship with the woman who had his son and worked for his family for 20 years. TMZ has a photo of Arnold dancing with the other woman, Mildred Patty Baena, in 1994, three years before she had his baby. Arnold also paid for the Baena’s niece’s Quinceanera, or coming of age party, in 2001. Apparently the mistress’ sister, the mother of the girl who had the party, also worked for Arnold. I wonder if he was boning the sister too.

TMZ claims that Baena was single white femaling her rival, Maria Shriver, and that she would “dress in her clothing,” “wear her jewelry around town” and bang her husband in her own bed during the day while Shriver was at work.

There are some reports that Arnold bought his mistress her four bedroom home in Bakersfield, CA last year for over $268,000. Other reports have her taking out a loan of $216,000, meaning she put $52,000 down. She may have had help with the down payment, but it’s not like the home was purchased for her outright.

We heard yesterday that Baena threatened to go public when Arnold fired her, although TMZ says that she’s always been loyal to Arnold (probably for a good reason, cha ching) and that an investigation by the LA Times prompted Arnold to come clean.

Meanwhile there’s more evidence that Baena’s 14 year-old son is Arnold’s. She listed her husband as the father on the boy’s birth certificate, but checked off the box for “no minor children” when she got a divorce.

Oh and Maria Shriver has lawyered up too. She just hired high-powered divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, also known for representing Britney Spears. Good for her.

This is about to get a lot more interesting, and Allred will dig up even more mistresses. Just wait.

Radar and Star Magazine have an inevitable follow-up in their story of Arnold’s housekeeper mistress. (When I first started writing this story I wrote “Mel’s mistress,” just look at the URL.) According to Radar, the woman threatened to go public with her story when Arnold fired her for some reason just a month ago. This doesn’t jibe with the timeline of when Arnold supposedly told Maria about his 14 year-old lovechild in January. I would think he would have kept this a secret as he’s done for years unless the mistress threatened to tell her. It’s still confusing to me, and this account may come straight from the mistress, who could be changing the timeline to make herself seem like the wronged party. Publicly she’s sort-of defended Arnold, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been selling her story behind the scenes. It’s also possible that Arnold didn’t tell Maria until the sh*t was about to hit the fan and tried to spin like he told her back when they first separated. Here’s Radar’s report:

A blockbuster RadarOnline.com and Star Magazine joint investigation has uncovered the real reason behind the former California’s governor’s admission that he fathered a son out of wedlock — it was because a shameful Schwarzenegger fired his mistress from her job as a housekeeper in a desperate attempt to save his marriage to wife Maria Shriver.

The woman, Mildred Patricia Baena, known as “Patty,” was identified for the first time in our world exclusive report.

To protect his privacy, RadarOnline.com is not publishing the teenager’s name.

“Mildred was furious that the father of her 14-year-old son would callously fire her from her job after decades of loyal service,” one of the Mildred’s closest confidantes told RadarOnline.com, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Mildred even entertained the idea of coming forward and speaking with a magazine, the source said.

“It was a nuclear blow-up between her and Arnold,” said the pal.

It’s not known if the Mildred’s tell-all plan was ever executed or whether the threat prompted 63-year-old Schwarzenegger’s disclosure about his illegitimate child.

What’s clear, however, is that this revelation is in direct contradiction to claims that the ex-maid ‘retired’ in January after two decades working at the Schwarzenegger/Shriver estate in Brentwood, California.

“Mildred did not retire… she was working for Arnold and Maria until about four weeks ago,” a source told RadarOnline.com.

“But all of a sudden and out of nowhere, she was told there was no longer work for her.”

Said the insider: “Mildred took it hard.”

The woman’s apparent move to go public is particularly noteworthy given she had remained silent for so long about what inevitably has become one of the most scandalous political and Hollywood cover-ups.

I still don’t get why Arnold supposedly told Maria back in January if this woman only threatened to go public a month ago. The whole thing is fishy.

Never one to give Radar credit for running an exclusive, TMZ posted this woman’s MySpace photos after a lead from The Daily Mail and put their logo all over them and acted like they had the exclusive. They also repeated already published information about her without crediting their sources. (I’m really surprised she hasn’t deleted her MySpace yet, but it’s still before 9 on the West Coast and maybe she’s sleeping in. It’s also possible she created it with an old email address she doesn’t have access to anymore.)

TMZ does have an exclusive (from what I can tell, who knows where they got the pics) with photos of this woman’s baby shower back when she was pregnant by Arnold. (At the same time that Maria Shriver was pregnant with her last.) To answer the question that many of you have been asking – no, she wasn’t a lot cuter 14 years ago. Is that harsh? Probably.

It didn’t take long for the sleuths at Radar Online and Star Magazine to find the woman who had the secret child that Arnold Schwarzenegger just admitted fathering. As we heard yesterday, Arnold copped to having a child out of wedlock “a decade ago,” with a member of his household staff who just retired after 20 years. He didn’t see fit to inform his wife Maria of this fact until after he’d vacated the California Governor’s office in January.

What’s more is that he only gave Maria a head’s up right before his announcement was about to be made. Radar also has the news that Maria found out while she was at dinner with Oprah Winfrey celebrating the last taping of Oprah’s show. It looks like the LA Times was about to go to press with the story and Arnold decided to own up to the child rather than try and deny the scandal. (That’s just me speculating though.)

Radar names the woman as Mildred Baena. Her son is 14, not ten-something as Arnold’s statement would have you assume, and she’s 50 years old. The Daily Mail uncovered her old MySpace account (where she shaves 3 years off her age) with photos of her and the child.

Apparently the woman didn’t tell Schwarzenegger that he was the father until the boy was a toddler. He supposedly “treated her well” and she made $1,200 a week, which seems pretty high for a housekeeper. What’s more is that Baena was pregnant with Schwarzenegger’s baby at the same time that Maria Shriver was pregnant with her last son with Arnold. This is some made for TV movie plot.

Yesterday Shriver issued a statement about this, saying “This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment.”

Two of her four children with Arnold have addressed the scandal via Twitter. Patrick Schwarzenegger, 17, quoted some lyrics and wrote “Some days you feel like s––, some days you want to quit and just be normal for a bit,” he wrote, “yet i love my family till death do us apart.” [sic] Katherine, 21, wrote “This is definitely not easy but I appreciate your love and support as i begin to heal and move forward in life.I will always love my family.”

Oh and there were rumors that Arnold had yet another out of wedlock love child with a mistress, but she claims that a DNA test proves that Arnold isn’t the father of her son. I would bet he has some more kids floating out there somewhere though.

Update: Arnold’s scandal takes the cover of People magazine, and Maria may have talked to them off the record. They have some vague quotes that sound like they’re coming from her camp, like “The magnitude of this betrayal knows no bounds. She had no idea,” and “No matter what, she will take the high road. That’s her style and that’s her family’s style. That’s just who she is.” Poor widdle Arnie wants her back though. Don’t they always when they don’t have another warm bed to roll into?

The Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver divorce just got a lot more scandalous. The (former) Governator just issued a statement acknowledging that he has an over ten year old child with a member of his household staff. Arnold also admitted that he didn’t inform his wife of this fact until after he left office in early January. Plus – the woman who had Arnold’s illegitimate child worked for their family for 20 years and didn’t leave her post until January! This explains why Maria moved out earlier this year. She probably knew and trusted this woman and to learn that both the staff member and Arnold had been hiding the fact that the child was Arnold’s must have been devastating for her. Maria probably even knew the child! We’ve heard plenty of rumors that Arnold was a serial cheater, but this goes beyond all that. It looks like all those blind items were true.

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has acknowledged that he fathered a child with a member of his household staff, a revelation that apparently prompted wife Maria Shriver to leave the couple’s home before they announced their separation last week.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver jointly announced May 9 that they were splitting up after 25 years of marriage. Yet, Shriver moved out of the family’s Brentwood mansion earlier in the year after Schwarzenegger acknowledged the child is his, The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

“After leaving the governor’s office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Schwarzenegger told the Times in a statement that also was sent to The Associated Press early Tuesday. “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.

“I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time,” the statement concluded. “While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not.”

Schwarzenegger’s representatives did not comment further. A spokesman for the former first lady told the Times she had no comment.

The Times did not publish the former staffer’s name nor that of her child but said the woman worked for the family for 20 years and retired in January.

In an interview Monday before Schwarzenegger issued his statement, the former staffer said another man – her husband at the time – was the child’s father. When the Times later informed the woman of the governor’s statement, she declined to comment further.

The child was born before Schwarzenegger began his seven-year stint in public office.

Shriver stood by her husband during his 2003 gubernatorial campaign after the Los Angeles Times reported accusations that he had a history of groping women. Schwarzenegger later said he “behaved badly sometimes.”

In his first public comments since the couple announced their breakup, Schwarzenegger said last week that he and Shriver “both love each other very much.”

“We are very fortunate that we have four extraordinary children and we’re taking one day at a time,” he said at a Los Angeles event marking Israeli independence. Their children range in age from 13 to 21.

Since his term as California governor ended in early January, Schwarzenegger, 63, has hopscotched around the world, his wife nowhere in sight. While the “Terminator” star appeared confident about the future since exiting politics, cutting movie deals and fashioning himself as a global spokesman for green energy, Shriver, known for her confidence, seemed unsettled.

Shriver, 55, maintained her own identity when her husband entered politics, though she gave up her job at NBC. Their union was often tested in Sacramento, where the former action star contended with a rough seven years of legislative gridlock, a budget crisis and lingering questions about his fidelity.

The tabloids really missed the boat on this one. The Enquirer ran a story last week that Maria caught Arnold cheating in 2001 with an actress named Gigi Goyette, but I’m sure there were plenty of others. Maria is also said to have been upset that Arnold was making movies again after promising that he’d spend time with his family after he left the Governor’s office. Plus she gave up her career as a TV journalist to support Arnold, never knowing that he had a a child outside their marriage.

Can you imagine learning that your husband was not only carrying on an affair for years, in your house, with someone you knew and trusted, but that he had a child with her? I want to say that I hope Maria takes Arnold’s ass to the cleaners, but that’s not going to make a difference. She’s wealthy in her own right and getting a chunk of his money might not help ease the pain and disappointment at all.

This makes me wonder why Arnold went public at this point though. Was the woman demanding a payoff? Did Maria put him up to it? I doubt she would want to make this public knowledge. The LA Times broke this story and interviewed the woman, so maybe Arnold thought he should own up to it before it hit the press.
