Back in October of this year, Lisa Rinna finally went in to a plastic surgeon to have her horrible duck lips repaired, after a silicone tragedy befell them many years ago. You see, Lisa used to get hot lead (or whatever) injected into her lips back in the ‘80s. And something happened and the procedure became permanent, and Rinna became known as “that chick with the disgusting lips”. So she had them worked on… only now the cure seems worse than the disease. Prepare yourself, this gets GROSS.

LISA RINNA is trapped in a plastic surgery nightmare – her surgically altered “trout pout” lips won’t heal!

The former Melrose Place star, 47, recently underwent a procedure to remove silicone from her lips that had been implanted back in 1986. But now her recovery hasn’t gone well – and she’s terrified that if she smiles too much her lips might bust open!

“Her doctors told Lisa it’s going to take months longer for her to heal,” a close pal told The ENQUIRER. “Lisa’s trying not to talk or even smile for long for fear of popping open her lips. She told a pal, ‘I look like I’m mad all the time, but I’m just trying to get my lips to heal properly!’”

While lip injections are popular in Hollywood, the procedure can lead to serious complications, Dr. Anthony Youn, a leading cosmetic surgeon told The ENQUIRER.

“Any time you have anything permanent injected into the lips, you are playing Russian roulette with your face,” Dr. Youn divulged. “There are serious risks.”

While Rinna was under the examination table, her doctor warned her: “The tissue is under tension. It’s not coming together.”

According to Dr. Youn, her lips could take up to six months to heal. Her pal said: “The whole thing has been driving Lisa crazy!”

Her mouth basically looks like (AVERT YOUR EYES IF YOU GROSS OUT EASILY) a ripped, bloody anus. It’s disgusting. And unsanitary. I don’t see how she can even function with her mouth like that – how does she eat? How does she brush her teeth? Ugh.

Lisa Rinna only reluctantly came clean about the painfully obvious fact that she’d messed with her lips, comparing the spur of the moment decision to get silicone with getting a tattoo. Afterwards she admitted that the criticism hurt her feelings, and said that she wishes she’d never owned up to it. Now that Lisa has had her lips surgically fixed to something resembling their original state, (and now that she has a book and reality show to promote) she’s talking about them again. In this latest installment of Lisa Rinnna: the lip chronicles, she says that she tries to keep fake-looking magazine covers away from her tween daughters, and that she advises actresses to love themselves and stop trying to look like Angelina Jolie.

Lisa Rinna, who just confessed to undergoing surgery to remove her silicone lip injections, has become a big advocate of a more natural look, telling me, “I want young women to learn to love themselves. You don’t need to change anything especially your lips.”

As a mother of two beautiful daughters, Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray, ages 8 and 11, Lisa knows too well the pressure on young women and wants to make sure she sets a good example.

“I remove the cover of magazines when girls who have had too much plastic surgery are on them. That’s the last thing my girls need to see. All these young Hollywood actresses need to stop trying to be the next Angelina Jolie and learn to love themselves,” Lisa tells me.

“Trust me, now that I have removed the silicone from my lips, I feel sexier and Harry loves them. It makes kissing and something else much easier,” she giggled.

I would buy all this from Lisa if she admitted to getting her lips done sooner, and if she owned it instead of trying to forget she mentioned it and then bringing it up again like some kind of revelation. Still, I get the “damned if you do” talk about it “damned if you don’t” angle. She got lip injections, they made her look like she was smuggling hot dogs under her lips, and she felt self conscious and was sensitive about it. Good for her for telling other women to go easy on the plastic surgery. Does she also regret her bolt-on boobs? They look fake to me but they could be real.

Oh and when I googled “Lisa Rinna Boob Job” I came upon this story from this spring where she commented on Kate Hudson’s maybe boob job, saying “I think everyone needs to do whatever they need to do to make themselves feel good. And it’s nobody’s business!” Mmmhmm. That’s much different than advising against plastic surgery now isn’t it?

Lisa Rinna told Popeater a story of a very blatant pretty disturbing request for sex in return for a role. She said that at the age of 24 she was promised a role on television, with the producer telling her while she was in his office to strip off her panties and bend over and the job was hers!

Lisa Rinna tells me her dishy new novel, ‘Starlit,’ is an inside look at “life on and off the red carpet, full of scandalous backstabbing and lots of sex.” She describes it as a “roman à clef,” or a novel that describes true events but is disguised as fiction. However, the most shocking real-life event that Lisa left out of the impossible-to-put-down read is a true story about herself and the infamous Hollywood casting couch.

“I lost a role on a BIG TV series because I wouldn’t bend over a chair in a producers office for ‘just a quickie,’” Lisa admits to me for the first time. “‘Just pull your panties down and bend over and the role is yours,’ he said to me.”

Lisa was just 24 years old at the time and walked away in tears after the disgusting encounter, but that hasn’t stopped her from thinking about the producer or that moment every day.

A friend tells me that Lisa has never revealed the producer’s name to anyone, including husband Harry Hamlin, but many years later, during the height of her ‘Melrose Place’ success, she saw the man that propositioned her all those years ago on an industry red carpet. He stopped to say congratulations and she told him, “I know everyone in this town and if you ever do what you did to me again to anyone else I will tell everyone your dirty secret.”

Now I want to know who that producer was! That incident happened in 1987 so it’s likely we’ve never heard of the guy and that it wasn’t someone particularly famous, or else why didn’t she tell her husband? It’s surprising to hear that this happened to her, but Gwyneth Paltrow told a similar story recently and I guess it’s more common than you might think.

Popeater also has some video interviews with Lisa and Harry, who are each promoting their books out on the same day along with their reality series. Harry sounds a little tipsy, but you can hardly blame him. The store they run in Sherman Oaks, CA got robbed the morning they did their press tour in NY, with Harry having to field a call about it on live television, on The Today Show. In terms of the rumors that they staged the break-in for publicity, Lisa got really worked up about it and said that there’s no way they faked that. I believe her and they both seemed very upset.

I always assumed that Lisa Rinna’s lips were unfixable. Like she had some nasty stuff injected into them, it settled and there was no getting that crap out of there. I didn’t think she had, like, lip implants but rather some sort of noxious fluid that made them swollen. She admitted as much last year, when she was promoting a self help book called Rinnivation. She said she had silicone injected into them in 1986, that the silicone hardened and caused scar tissue and that she needed cortisone injections to treat it. Lisa recently underwent a surgical reduction of her lips, and she says that she really likes the results and is just waiting for the swelling to go down. She’s promoting yet another book, a novel called Starlit about a soap star. Lisa of course starred on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place. Here’s People’s report on her procedure:

She swore she’d never touch her infamous pucker again, but on Aug. 26, Lisa Rinna did just that – surgically reducing the size of her upper lip.

“My lips started to define who I am,” Rinna, 47, tells PEOPLE about why she decided to undergo the procedure. “That bothered me.”

Public reaction to her plastic surgery confession last year also upset her. After finally admitting that in 1986 she had silicone injected into her upper lip – an impulsive decision she made with a girlfriend and likens to getting a tattoo – Rinna says, “I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings.”

Now, the star of TVLand’s upcoming reality show Harry Loves Lisa (with husband Harry Hamlin) – as well as the author of the new novel Starlit – is ready to keep a stiff upper lip about her new upper lip. “It doesn’t matter what other people think,” she says. “I did it for myself.”

As a result of the procedure, she says, rather than feeling “bumpy and uneven … my lip has no lumps! It’s smooth.”

But her mouth is still swollen from the procedure and will require six months to heal fully. “It’s a work in progress,” admits Rinna, “but I feel fantastic.”

I guess the question is – what took her so long? Has plastic surgery science advanced so much in the past few years that this kind of procedure is now simpler with less risks? I googled this, and found an answer by a plastic surgeon as to whether this is possible. Dr. B Pat Pazmino writes “Silicone melts into your tissue and infiltrates all layers of the skin that has been treated. This makes it extremely difficult to remove after the injection [to the lips]. Your best bet is to work with a board certified plastic surgeon who will be able to place any incisions necessary into the least noticeable areas of the lip.” That sounds painful. No wonder Lisa waited so long. Also, doesn’t she look a little like Heidi Klum in that “after” photo above without makeup?

The first two photos below are from a video on TVLand’s website where she’s announcing that her new reality show with husband Harry Hamlin will air this Wednesday. She says it’s premiering “tomorrow” so these must be her new lips. They do look slightly better although her lips are still huge. They’re not all sagging downward like they were before, and that’s an improvement.

Oh, the petty little famewhores and their desire for any kind of attention. Last week, before Star Magazine reported that Ashton Kutcher was maybe-boning a hot blonde at Madeo, Demi Moore had twit-pic’d a few photos of herself posing in her bikini (photos here). They got a lot of play because of the cheating story, but they probably would have gotten a lot of play anyway, just because Demi – at 47 years old – acts like a tween girl playing with gadgets. Anyway, Lisa Rinna decided to copy Demi’s famewhore moves by posting photos of herself with the message: “Doin the Demi! Power to the 47yr olds!!!!! She is my idol! ” UGH.

But of course, that’s not the end of it. Demi is so happy that “the youngsters” are talking about her, she somehow managed to talk another famewhore into doing another bikini photo shoot. He’s a 19 year old named Dave Days, and this is Dave in a bikini (via Demi’s Twitter):

Basically, we are an empire in decline. And this is why.

As part of People Magazine’s 50 Most Amazing Bodies issue with super buff Zac Efron on the cover, they have a roundtable interview called “The Body Summit: Stars Tell All.” It features lesser celebrities you may need help remembering like Lisa Rinna, 46, Nikki Blonsky, 21, Dayna Devon, 40, Garcelle Beauvais, 43, and Whitney Port, 25. They’re all talking about body, beauty and weight issues, and Lisa Rinna really dominates the conversation. They discuss dealing with pressure from the media to stay thin and look perfect and it’s common stuff that’s moderately interesting. The best part is when Lisa Rinna complains that she never should have admitted to having her lips done. Lisa came clean about her painful-looking obvious silicone injection lip job about a year ago after sporting those puppies for 23 years. I don’t ever remember seeing her without huge engorged-looking lips. She told People that she wishes she never owned up to the work she had done, though, because people just bashed her for it. (Lisa even got in a Twitter war with someone last month and claimed they were “cyber bullying” her for pointing out that her lips looked bad.)

In the quoted text below I’m also including a statement from Dayna Devon, who I’ve never heard of but who People notes is a “former Extra correspondent and Juvederm spokeswoman.” Her face looks painful but she seems to like it that way and she admits to having a lot of work done. What body issues do you face in Hollywood?
Dayna Devon: My issue is that there are so many celebrities who say, “I got in shape because I had salmon and vegetables.” I personally have been very open. I do Juvederm, Botox. I had a tummy tuck and my boobs done after my baby [Cole, now 3]. I want people to know it’s not necessarily fish and vegetables.

Lisa Rinna: I was open and honest last year. I had something done to my lips 24 years ago. It was like getting a tattoo – spur of the moment. I never spoke about it, but once I called out the pink elephant in the room, I took a tremendous beating.

Whitney Port: Because a lot of people probably think you’re shallow, right?

Lisa: They do! I felt so judged. I became somebody who did something bad. I actually wish I hadn’t said anything, to be honest.

Good for Dayna Devon for admitting what she had done and earning some money for promoting it, if that’s her thing. I think her face looks like it can’t move, and her mouth looks like she can’t smile properly in the People photo that accompanies this article. That’s what Lisa is talking about, though – people nitpicking her looks after she makes herself vulnerable by admitting that she’s had surgery. Maybe she shouldn’t have told us about it if she didn’t want to hear the comments, but she was promoting a memoir at the time. It would have been suspicious if she published a story about her life without acknowledging her most prominent feature.

Lisa Rinna will sometimes do something interesting, but she always f-cks it up somehow. Like when she gave a big interview about Heidi Montag’s big plastic head and body, saying that Heidi’s People Magazine cover was not “something you want to bring in the house and say, ‘Oh, look.’” Because Lisa has two daughters, you see, and she didn’t want them to see someone so plastic… unless it was their mother, I suppose. Of course, instead of standing by her hypocrisy, Lisa quickly backtracked and apologized to Heidi for some reason. Crisis averted! Oh, wait. Heidi still looks like a circus freak. Nevermind.

Anyway, the latest bogus controversy for Lisa is all about Twitter, of course. Sidenote: how did we even have gossip before Twitter? What did we do before celebrities were making asses out of themselves on a daily basis on Twitter? Anyway, some commenter attacked Lisa on her Twitter, writing “Sorry Lisa, but your lips look awful…how on Earth do you think that looks good?” Lisa, of course, got on her high horse about “cyber bullying”. I mean… sure, cyber bullying sucks, I get it. And Lisa’s point about “what if you said that to someone younger” et cetera makes sense too. But it just feels like she was the one who was bothered by someone calling her out on her crazy lips, and instead of just saying “f-ck you, Thin Lips,” Lisa decided to make into a “cyber bullying” teachable moment. Call me crazy, but I don’t hate Lisa Rinna. Sure, I find her annoying, and yes, her face is like the textbook example of horrible, gross, laughable plastic surgery. But whenever I’ve seen her interviewed, I kind of get a kick out of her personality. She’s spunky and funny, and she’s smart enough to have figured out a way to still have some semblence of relevance after decades languishing on the C-list of Hollywood. However, I’m revising my opinion of Lisa. This little piece in Page Six (that lead me to the Fancast interview, below) had me rolling my eyes so hard, they almost fell out. It seems Lisa was very disturbed by Heidi Montag’s “Addicted to Plastic Surgery” People Magazine cover, and thinks that Heidi’s work will send a damaging signal to young girls. Oh really?

No stranger to doctor-aided physical enhancements, Lisa Rinna says she was disturbed by ‘The Hills‘ star Heidi Montag’s recent drastic cosmetic makeover, captured on the cover of the January issue of People magazine.

“I will tell you I had to take that cover off the magazine before it came in the house,” Rinna told Fancast at Friday’s anniversary party for her store Belle Gray, in Sherman Oaks, Calif. “We have two girls. I don’t think it is something you want to bring in the house and say, ‘Oh, look.’”

‘Dancing with the Stars‘ alum Rinna, who has talked publicly of her own plastic surgery including Juvederm, Botox, lip-plumping, and breast implants, says she is sensitive to her daughters’ body-image issues.

“I take a lot of the covers off of magazines if they are not appropriate,” Rinna says.

“Obviously, we are raising two young girls. Anything that has to do with weight issues, I think you just have to be really careful.”

She adds, “I mean, you know – to each his own, is all I will say.”

Rinna was joined by husband Harry Hamlin at Friday’s party, as the two shot scenes for their upcoming TV Land reality show ‘Harry Loves Lisa,’ premiering in October.

Hamlin, who was People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1987 during his ‘L.A. Law‘ heyday, says he thinks the choice to make Montag’s plastic surgery a public issue of discussion is questionable.

“Who? The blonde girl? I saw she was on the cover of some magazine,” Hamlin said Friday in mock surprise about Montag, who said that she had 10 cosmetic procedures in one day last November. “Well, you know, that magazine has changed so much. I was actually on the cover a few times. In those days, they had stories about people who hadn’t had their faces cut open. They had stories about things that were really going on. I don’t know. I mean, plastic surgery?”

“I mean, plastic surgery?” Yes, Harry. PLASTIC SURGERY. Like your wife has all the time. To the point where her face looks like a very shiny, brown, frozen nut. That plastic surgery. I mean, sure, I think Heidi Montag’s plastic face (below) is a damaging image to throw out there, especially for young girls. But what bothers me more, the plastic face or the hypocrisy? Gah!

46-year-old Lisa Rinna had the audacity to wear a bikini on the beach this past weekend, and the internet is absolutely aghast. Or, as Fame put it, “Lisa shows off her aging body in a Hollywood bikini while splashing around in the waves.” Yes, not her body. Her aging body. How dare she let her body grow older! It’s a sign of laziness is what it is.

Luckily a few sites have a better perspective on Lisa’s body. Radar noted, “We have to hand it to her, Lisa Rinna is in amazing shape. The 46 year old looks fabulous in her bikini at the beach in Malibu,” while LimeLife gave suggestions about what you can do to look as great as Lisa.

Have you had a chance to see Lisa Rinna on the beach so far this summer? I knew her abs were good, but I was in no way prepared for her string bikini surprise! How does she do it?

I didn’t like Lisa for a long time, mostly because of her lips. I know that’s unfair, but they were so bad that they actually made me angry. Then she wore a sandwich board on the side of Melrose Avenue saying “Honk 4 Lisa Rinna on the new Melrose Place,” and I sort of fell in love with her. Well, that’s not quite it, but close. Come on – obvious publicity stunt or not, wearing a sandwich board means having the ability not to take yourself too seriously. It’s hard not to find that endearing. And Lisa does look absolutely amazing. If I ever look that good – at any age – I’d be thrilled. She should wear nothing but bikinis from now until Thanksgiving, just to show off.

Lisa Rinna has finally spoken out about what happened to her lips. Rinna went on the Today show Monday morning to do full disclosure on her botched cosmetic work. Rinna claims that after she saw Barbara Hershey’s puffy lips in Beaches, she decided to go in for the same procedure. Rinna described the procedure as an injection of silicone to her upper lip, but not her bottom lip. Rinna claims that after one treatment, the silicone hardened, and she later had to go in for a cortisone injection, which was “gross” according to Rinna.

Rinna completes her explanation by saying “I do not blow up and down my lips.” I really think she’s trying to convince us that she only had a couple of things done to her lips many years ago, but that she doesn’t do anything to them now. Which is… crazy. Her lips are so bloated, they could be a floatation device. But I do love a good Beaches reference. Her lips are the wind beneath her wings! That doesn’t make sense, I know, but neither does this:

Say this for Lisa Rinna: She has loose lips as far as her thick lips are concerned.

“That’s the pink elephant in the room,” the actress, 45, said on Monday’s Today show. “This is the first time I have told what I have done to my lips.”

It all started 23 years ago, said Rinna as her husband, former L.A. Law star Harry Hamlin, watched from the wings. “I had silicone put in my top lip not the bottom lip.”

The look she was after was what Barbara Hershey had in the Bette Midler movie Beaches, “plump and beautiful,” said Rinna. “I was gullible enough to go and do it.”

Not that she was dissatisfied with the outcome. She loved the look, which, she noted, “Made me who I am.”

The Reversal
But then the silicone hardened, and the look of the scar tissue was no longer plump and beautiful. Next came a cortisone injection, and that was “gross,” she said.

But that, in a nutshell, is the saga of Rinna’s pucker apparatus. “I do not blow up and down my lips,” she assured fans.

There to promote her book, Rinnavation, due to be published Tuesday, Rinna – who also appears in a Playboy spread this month that her husband described as “awesome” – discussed the book’s self-help points. This includes how she got her sex drive back after having children, “or else risk losing Harry,” as well as diet and fitness advice.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with cosmetic surgery, but I think it’s cheap when celebrities lie about it. If they don’t want to admit what they’ve had done, fine. Don’t say anything, we’ll probably figure it out, even though it’s none of our business. It’s the lying that gets to me… like Courteney Cox saying she tried Botox once, when she now gets mistaken for Janice Dickinson. Full disclosure, Lisa! If you’re going to talk about, be honest!
