Can it be possible that the British tabloids have got it wrong? Only yesterday we reported that Kylie Minogue was spotted with handsome ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez, and speculation was rife that she had a new life plan, complete with marriage and babies. Now it seems that their un-named source was wrong! As we reported, Kylie and Ollie were meant to be together again, after a year apart, and planning “to start a family, to marry her and to settle down.”

But, Kylie today released her new range of linen for your home, and denied the reports at her launch. It seems a bit coincidental that the range came out the same week as the rumours - was it a clever ploy to get more publicity?

Minogue told the Press Association: “I had dinner with my ex-boyfriend and next thing I know there’s a debate about whether we’re having a family. “We didn’t even talk about that. As I’ve maintained, we’re friends.”

I’m actually not surprised about this, and according to relationship advice gurus, it’s a bad idea.

Paula Hall, relationship psychotherapist for Relate, said, “I don’t think there’s anything wrong in going back to your ex as long as you have resolved the problems which caused the break-up in the first place.

“Some couples get to the point of a break-up before they realise what they really want and it gives them the motivation to resolve their problems.”

But she said people should not return to a former partner just to have a family. “To get back together purely to have a baby is not necessarily a good idea – it depends on your expectations for both the relationship and parenting.”

That’s probably not bad advice, considering the stress a baby places on everyone around it!

Kylie Minogue is just my favourite little Aussie, and ever since her break up with Olivier Martinez we’ve been hoping that she would find new love and have some babies. Now it seems she has a plan.

“Kylie has taken him back - with a new set of rules,” a friend of Miss Minogue’s told the Daily Mail.

“Ollie has agreed to try for a baby. That was always the stumbling block in their relationship. They have both been single for a year and Kylie has realised she has never had anyone that has matched up to him.

“A month ago, a mutual Parisian friend passed a message on to Kylie that Ollie was pining for her and deeply regretted the break-up. Two weeks later, Ollie called her late one night when he was a bit drunk. That was their first conversation in almost a year.

“Since that time, they have been regularly calling, having intense conversations and texting incessantly.

“Ollie has told her he is ready to start a family, to marry her and to settle down. It was against that background that this first meeting happened last week.

“They have decided that if they have no success within a year, they will try to adopt.

“Olivier was always unsure of adoption before and neither did he want to have a baby naturally. He did not want to marry either. But after being apart for a year, he has obviously had a change of heart.”

The Daily Mail adds that the couple spent much of the weekend together, with Olivier’s dog Sheeba. Kylie has had a long history of spending time with the pooch, often being seen taking her on walks in Paris. Which probably means that the phone calls of the last few weeks aren’t the first contact the couple have had.

While Martinez’s family are happy to see the couple together, apparently Kylie’s aren’t pleased, although the Daily Mail offers no explanation. Maybe it could be those rumours about Olivier’s sex scene with Diane Lane in the film Unfaithful – some viewers thought they were a little too convincing.

The steamy sex scenes in the 2002 thriller, which also starred Richard Gere, were made to look so lifelike that internet gossips have claimed that the actor’s went one step further during taping.

But 42-year-old Lane - who is now happily married to ‘No Country For Old Men’ actor, Josh Brolin - insists that the rumours are not true.

Mercy me, no no, no. That was wishful thinking on somebody’s part,” Lane told US talk show host, Tyra Banks.

“That’s not for me. That’s a whole different thing, and I like this industry better than that one.”

How could you possibly manage to fool everyone on the set? Surely someone would notice - I hope that there is big difference between fake sex and real sex. Actually, I can’t imagine many things less appealing than sex, on a film set, with strangers watching.

Olivier Martinez might be a nasty love rat, but his ex-girlfriend, model Sarai Givati, wants you to know she’d never do the dirty on Kylie Minogue.

“We had a relationship but there was no lying on his part and to my knowledge - and I believe him - there was no overlap between him seeing Kylie and then seeing me,” Givati told London newspaper, The People.

“Looking back now, because of all the hurtful things said about me, I would, maybe, have given more time between the end of his relationship and the beginning of ours because it wasn’t easy for me having people think that I split them up.”

The Israeli model and Martinez, 41, became lovers in the last week of January, a few days before he and Minogue, 39, announced they were parting after four years.

“When I asked him why he had split from Kylie, all he said was: ‘It was time to break up’ and that the relationship had run its course.

“I really didn’t ask more than that.”

The whole way she words this statement kind of sounds like she doesn’t really believe Olivier, and is waiting for him to get caught out. Caught again, since the two of them were photographed together before Kylie and Ollie had split. Some reports have the model involved with Olivier in December.

Then again, maybe Kylie chucked Ollie because he bored her in bed.

“Sex is the most natural thing in the world. When I’m in a relationship, I like lots of it,” she reveals. “I like to be swept off my feet - but I do have a very low boredom threshold!”

Slightly less sexy, but very brave, is that Kylie is trying to beat her biological clock and have a baby. Alone, and after the fertility destroying cancer treatment. Reports say she plans to undergo a ‘revolutionary treatment’ to conceive naturally.

“She has been taking advice on whether she’s physically fit enough and whether medical science is advanced enough for her to consider going ahead with the treatment.”

Kylie, who failed to get pregnant using IVF treatment with ex- lover Olivier Martinez when she was first diagnosed with cancer, is hoping to persuade the actor to start a family - but is willing to raise a child alone.

The source added: “Kylie has been talking to Olivier lately and has raised the subject of getting back together. There’s nothing she would love more - but she wants to do it properly this time and that means having children. They haven’t come to an agreement yet but Kylie is willing to go it alone and be a single mother if that is what it takes.”

“She adores children and has always wanted her own family. Her 40th birthday next year and the birth of her first nephew last year have brought that home to her more than ever.”

“Kylie has made regular visits to Olivier’s home in Paris over the past few weeks,” a friend revealed. “And recently their relationship has begun to redevelop.

“Things started to progress when Kylie flew over for a hospital appointment. They went for a heart-to-heart lunch and thrashed out a few issues.

A second source said: “Kylie put on a chic black dress and headscarf to look as Parisian as possible. She loves the look, and knows Ollie does, too. We were all delighted to see them back together again. She always says she’s at her happiest in Paris, and especially with Ollie. She still calls him the love of her life.

“Since their split they’ve talked to each other on the phone constantly, but it’s only in the past few weeks that they’ve started meeting again. It would be wonderful if they got back together and the signs look good.”

I know that the tabloids like to say that Olivier was a cheatin’ lyin’ love rat, but I’m not convinced. Kylie seems sweet, but underneath that exterior she is tough, she’s lasted in the music business for twenty years! Olivier was by her side during her cancer treatment, which can’t have been easy, he seems okay to me. The couple are also rumoured to have undertaken IVF treatment together.

The Mail on Sunday source says that Kylie just loves Oliviers dog Sheeba, and that is part of the reason she stays at his flat. So maybe not a romantic rendouvous, but in fact pet-sitting? A spokeperson says “It’s not true that they are back together. They do see each other but that has always been the case.”

If you are an obscenely good-looking Frenchman desperate for the UK press to take you to bits as they run out of Big Brother scandal … just follow the Olivier Martinez playbook.

Flaunting your freedom from your recently dumped, much-beloved, cancer-recovering, gold-lame-shorts wearing, excellently-bottomed girlfriend turns out to be a near perfect plan for bad press. And surprise surprise the British tabloid press don’t bother much with substance behind their accusations. Luckily their Commonwealth cousins (and original supplier for all things Kylie) are a tad more circumspect in their analysis of the material. KYLIE Minogue’s ex-boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, has been spotted in the arms of yet another woman, this time it’s actress Penelope Cruz.
Britain’s Daily Mirror made a meal of photographs showing the French actor in an embrace with the Hollywood star at a Los Angeles hotel 12 hours after ending his four-year relationship with Minogue.

But the pictures, carried on the paper’s front page with the headline “Kylie Cad Cruz Schmooze” and in a double-page spread, only show Martinez and Cruz sharing what appears to be a friendly hug.

The status of his Cruz huggin’ aside reports do seem to agree that the (up till this weekend) admirably supportive Martinez is wasting no time sampling L.A.s charms now that he is officially off the clock. His haste may be a bit unseemly … but if you add in the time difference, hemisphere switch and a Gallic presumption of joie de vivre rights - he comes out just the safe side of cad.

Cruz, who was at the Chateau Marmont hotel for lunch with three female friends, reportedly shrieked with delight when she saw Martinez.

An unnamed source criticised the Frenchman for being so brazen after he and Minogue announced their split at the weekend.

“Does he really have to rub Kylie’s nose in it?”, the source said.

Martinez has been seen at the same hotel in recent days with Israeli model Sarai Givati, Lost star Michelle Rodriguez and a mystery brunette.

It apparently takes a whole lotta brunette to Wash that Kylie Woman right oughtta your hair.

Kylie seems to be taking it all in her stride. She’s in the UK opening an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum of her very own costumes, glittery bobs, sparkly bangles and shiny beads. Wonder who she’ll take to the opening? I suggest a red-head … maybe Prince Harry is done with Chelsy.
