Jessica Pare in Jason Wu at the Met Gala: one of the worst looks of the night?

I was all prepared to make Stacy Keibler the lead girl for this post until I saw the mess that is Jessica Pare. Jessica plays Megan Draper on Mad Men, remember? And Jessica is trying to make this “Fashion Girl” thing happen, so she’s been doing more and more fashion events over the past two years. Jessica wore Jason Wu – one of her favorite designers – to the Met Gala last night. Sigh… ugh.

I had been sitting here, wondering if anyone had the temerity to actually wear pants to the Met Gala, and now I’m sorry for wondering. I don’t know if Jason Wu collaborated with Jessica on this look, or if she was like, “Hey, let’s cut the skirt off of this terrible dress and I’ll wear it with pants!” Whatever happened in the design process was a complete failure. And I will give her no credit for trying to “make it work” by matching her eyeshadow. NO CREDIT.

Here’s my girlfriend Doutzen Kroes in Theyskens Theory. It’s not the best, and it’s FAR from the worst. I actually kind of like it and I wonder why Gisele wasn’t wearing it.

Lena Dunham in Erdem. This is so boring for her. Ugh.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Calvin Klein. This is awful. I love Maggie, but this is awful. Her breasts need more support, and the flutter detail on the bust makes her boobs look lumpy. And I’m not entirely sold on her pixie cut either.

Stacy Keibler in Rachel Roy. Blah. The dress is nothing special, but the shoes are God-awful.

Stacy Keibler in all-black for the Dolce & Gabbana opening in NYC: pretty or trashy?

Is anyone else kind of over Dolce & Gabbana at this point? I remember when D&G used to have some really sexy, fresh designs and they seemed like a really solid design house. Nowadays, it seems like D&G has devolved into kitsch, and like they don’t even care about appealing to anyone in their 20s. So I was somewhat surprised to see that they got a really good turnout for the grand opening of the Dolce & Gabbana flagship store opening on 5th Avenue in NYC on Saturday. Gisele Bundchen, Erin Heatherton, Stacy Keibler, Chloe Sevigny, Emilia Clarke, Spike Lee and many, many more came out for the event. Isn’t that surprising?

So, let’s get into it. I want to start with Stacy Keibler just because I haven’t seen her for a month or so and we haven’t really talked about her relationship with George Clooney. Do you think there’s still a relationship to speak of? Maybe. I guess they’re making it work for now. Maybe he doesn’t want to go through the hassle of auditioning someone new for the summer at Lake Como. Stacy continues to make bad decisions about her endorsement deals though – she was just in Barcelona for a paid appearance at a BRIDAL SHOW. Bad move, girl.

Kylie Minogue has such a cute figure, I don’t get why she’s wearing this ugly little dress.

Gisele! I guess she’s in NYC ahead of the Met Gala on Monday night.

I’m sorry, I barely recognized Erin Heatherton. So, two of Leonardo’s exes were at the same event? Ha.

Emilia Clarke’s outfit is a perfect example of why Dolce & Gabbana is no longer relevant to modern fashion. Look at how poorly designed this is!!!

I don’t really understand what Chloe Sevigny is wearing UNDER her coat. Please say panties.

George Clooney showering Stacy Keibler with gifts, so he’ll dump her soon

For about two weeks straight, media outlets were obsessed with the idea that George Clooney was about to dump Stacy Keibler. The timing seemed right – the Oscars are over, the summer season at Lake Como has not begun, and this is Clooney’s traditional “Dump the Old Piece and Find A New Piece” season. But Stacy is still living “the dream”. She and Clooney are still together! She flew to Berlin a week ago and she’s been spotted around town with George, and she even went solo at an Escada event with what I’m sure was a nice paid appearance.

But the question still looms: is Stacy on her way out? Is George just staying with her out of spite at this point, because he doesn’t want to be too obvious or have his breakup confirmed by The Sun? Veteran Clooney-watchers claim that George is kind of over it – mostly because George is showering Stacy with expensive gifts and that’s some kind of Clooney Harbinger of Doom.

Is Stacy Keibler about to be added to the long list of George Clooney’s ex-girlfriends? An insider says it could be the beginning of the end – because he’s starting to shower her with gifts!

“When he starts buying you things, it’s his way of letting you down easy,” says a source. Just ask his most recent ex, Elisabetta Canalis, who had her one-year lease paid by George after the two split. Lately George has bought Stacy several pieces of pricey jewelry and increased her monthly allowance to $25,000. The couple have also been dating for about a year and a half, which is known to be George’s ultimate time limit.

“Just when the girl thinks she’ll be the one he finally marries, he says goodbye,” our source says.

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

I know this is terribly anti-feminist of me, but I would totally take that deal. I actually find George Clooney attractive these days (more so with his full beard than just the mustache), and I wouldn’t mind going to bed with him and giving him the ol’ stroke and choke (or whatever he likes, no judgment). And if I had to do that with a monthly allowance of $25,000 plus jewelry plus a nondisclosure agreement plus he would buy me an apartment once we split 18 months later… yeah, I’d be into it. Go ahead and call me a hooker! IDGAF. The one sticking point – and perhaps this is revealing of my selective morality – is that no matter what our agreement and my monetary compensation, I would NEVER EVER wear Marchesa. Ever. That’s the dealbreaker.

Stacy Keibler makes a paid appearance in Berlin (cough): cute or basic?

As we discussed over the weekend, Stacy Keibler flew from LA to Berlin to be with her still-on boyfriend George Clooney. This came on the heels of widespread reports that she and Clooney were dunzo, and that Clooney had already given her some retirement gifts: some jewelry, an apartment and a nondisclosure agreement. But Keibler is still around, and she and George went out to dinner over the weekend, making sure they got photographed together too. People Magazine said that George and Stacy went to dinner with Matt Damon, and that when Stacy arrived in Berlin, she had “quite a bit of luggage.” Which indicates that she’s planning on staying for a while. She also tweeted on Friday, “Hello Berlin!! Glad to be back! Excited to spend some time here.”

So, now you know. George and Stacy cannot bear to be apart. They are crazy in love. Do you believe that? Or do you believe that Stacy is playing George just right and for the moment, he’s fine with Stacy and how she keeps it uncomplicated? Or do you believe that the end is nigh and one of these days, she’ll be escorted off of George’s property for uttering the word “marriage”?

Anyway, these are some new photos of Stacy last night at the “grand opening of Escada flagship store and the launch of the online store Escada.com” in Berlin. Because as long as she’s in Berlin, she might as well get paid to do some appearances, right? I will give her that – she’s spent the last year and a half feathering her nest with these lower-tier appearances in Europe and Las Vegas and LA and NYC. I’m sure she’s made a lot of money from this relationship. Cough.

George Clooney & Stacy didn’t break up after all, she’s in Berlin with him

Well played, girl. After the rumor-mill went into overdrive on Friday after The Sun claimed George Clooney and Stacy Keibler were done, Stacy appeared in Berlin, where George has been filming The Monuments Men. These are photos of Stacy and George out to dinner in Berlin last night – I don’t know if she called them or he called them or they just showed up because Clooney’s in town and he’s always up for a good photo-op. Whatever rumor we’ve heard, George wants us to know that Stacy is still his lady. For now.

What is interesting (to me) is that George’s rep still hasn’t issued a specific denial. I’m not saying there was truth to all of the split reports – although I certainly believed them, so I was wrong too – I’m just saying that with this relationship with Stacy, whenever a breakup rumor pops up, George or Stacy will quash it publicly. Maybe George’s rep just figured “Why bother?” because Stacy was already headed to Berlin to visit, and they knew there would be photos.

Let’s see, what else… Page Six has an insider who claims that George definitely didn’t dump Stacy, period, the end. TMZ’s sources also claim they’re not done and that Stacy is still living at Clooney’s place AND they’re “currently redecorating the kitchen in their home.” So I guess Stacy is still playing it smart – not asking for anything George is unwilling to give (a ring, a baby). Looks like the Enquirer was right all along! Their story this week was all about how George “seems more drawn to her as time goes by” and how Stacy “goes off and does her own thing whenever George is spending time with his pals or is deep into a film project – she doesn’t even call him. But eventually, he starts missing her and he’s the one who calls. She lets George come to her.” Smart girl.

The Sun: George Clooney dumped Stacy Keibler, gave her an apartment, jewelry

In last week’s Us Weekly, sources claimed that George Clooney and Stacy Keibler were pretty much done. Reasons given for the split were lack of common interests, age difference, Stacy likes to party and she has D-list friends who she brings along to George’s A-list Oscar parties, etc, etc. No one thought to mention that Oscar season was over and Stacy’s contract was up…? What was interesting about that Us Weekly story was that no one denied it outright. Stacy didn’t say anything. George didn’t say anything. No publicist was sent out to deny anything. But this week’s Enquirer (always a favorite of George’s ladies, truly) speculated that Stacy has George right where she wants him and she’s playing some sort of long game to get him to propose. Needless to say, I thought that story was too absurd to even cover. And now this – The Sun (side-eye) claims that George and Stacy are completely done and he’s already given her some parting gifts.

GEORGE CLOONEY is back on the market.

The actor and STACY KEIBLER have split after deciding their relationship wasn’t going anywhere.

A source said: “They knew it was never going to end in marriage or babies and Stacy does want kids and a husband in the next few years.”

George softened the break-up blow by giving the former wrestler an apartment and a load of jewelry. That was probably to avoid getting clotheslined.

[From The Sun UK]

George gave Elisabetta Canalis some parting gifts too, if I remember correctly. I think George just gave Eli money – like $2 million and a nondisclosure agreement. I wonder what kind of apartment Stacy got? Like, a fancy LA condo? Probably. And I think Stacy positioned herself much better than every other Clooney girlfriend too – Stacy knew her limits, she didn’t try to have some kind of “modeling career” (Sarah Larsen) or “acting career” (Elisabetta). Stacy knew that her aspirations should be limited to reality TV hostess/personality. She quietly did minor paid appearances and put some money away for a rainy day, and now she’s got an apartment and probably some nice jewelry which she can sell if times get tough. I think she’ll be fine. And I’m sure she got a nondisclosure agreement too. Oh… George’s rep might be denying this story…? Maybe? I can’t find good sourcing on that, but I’ll update if I see something.

By the way, George is in Germany right now working on The Monuments Men with Matt Damon, John Goodman and Bill Murray (and Jean Dujardin, Cate Blanchett and Hugh Bonneville). Stacy has not been asked to join him on location. Just FYI.

George Clooney & Stacy Keibler headed for a breakup, right on schedule

The breakup rumors about George Clooney and Stacy Keibler have been swirling for months. I really thought there was a possibility that they were totally over several months ago, when there was wide reporting that George was tired of her and she was getting increasingly nervous. In Touch Weekly claimed (in January) that George and Stacy wouldn’t make it past the end of March. And I noted just after the Oscars that Stacy had made it through her second awards season, and she probably wouldn’t go much further. And now Us Weekly says that the breakup is all but done:

Looks like George Clooney’s bachelor status is here to stay. The Argo producer’s year-and-a-half-long romance with girlfriend Stacy Keibler has run its course, multiple sources reveal in the March 18 issue of Us Weekly, on stands now.

Insiders say the pair have been increasingly butting heads in recent months.

“They have little in common,” one source explains of the former wrestler, 33, and her 51-year-old beau. “She likes to go out and have fun. She’s been feeling the age difference.”
A second pal says Keibler is dreading another secluded summer at Clooney’s villa on Lake Como. “It drives Stacy crazy that he’s fine hibertnating for months.”

Clooney’s friends are a factor, too. According to one insider, the Oscar winner’s buddies aren’t wild about Keibler’s pals. At his Oscar party at Craig’s in West Hollywood on February 24, “George’s buddies resented that Stacy brought along several pals… George felt it was HIS night.”

Adds another source: “The end is near. It’s a matter of time.”

[From Us Weekly print & online editions]

I mean… of course. It’s obvious. The awards season is over, Clooney doesn’t need a Rent-A-Date girlfriend on his arm. This is his M.O., although I do enjoy Stacy’s attempt to sound like she’s over it too. And maybe she is! Maybe being George’s girlfriend is more work than we will ever know. So, obviously, the timing of this is completely Clooney’s standard thing too. He’ll spend several months dating around, not having anyone special, and then he’ll find some eager C-lister with strong hands (cough) and she’ll get an invite to Como mid-summer, and then that will be his girl for the 2014 awards season.

Here are some photos of Stacy solo last night at the “Joe Fresh At jcp Pop Up Event”. Before I even saw the Us Weekly story, my thought was: “I bet she and Clooney are already over or close to it.”

Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season: will she last much longer?

Was anyone else surprised that Stacy Keibler made it through her second awards season as George Clooney’s official girlfriend? I mean, once she made it through January, you knew George Clooney was going to keep her through the Oscars, because he never breaks up with a girlfriend in the middle of the awards season. What surprised me wasn’t that Stacy made it through, it was that she made it through with such little fanfare. During the 2012 awards season – when George was nominated for Best Actor – Stacy was front and center, soaking up the attention and making everything about her Marchesa gowns and her fashion disasters. She was different this time around – quieter, less attention-seeking. Perhaps she was on notice? Rumors have been swirling for months that George is tired/bored with her. So… we’ll see.

I’m including some photos of Stacy out and about in LA yesterday – those are the photos where she’s in all-black (even black Uggs). Again, this isn’t a “look at me, I made it to the Oscars two years in a row” look. This is a “good God, I’m hungover” look. She probably is! Word is that after the Oscars and the Governors Ball, George, Stacy, the Afflecks, the Gerbers, and many more went to a private dinner at Craig’s where everyone was partying until all hours of the night. A witness said, “Their Oscars were on the table, and they did shots of [Clooney’s] Casamigos tequila all night.” The couple that parties together stays together?

Nicole Kidman v. Naomi Watts: who had the best metallic gown at the Oscars?

Metallics were a big trend at last night’s Oscars, and I’m including some of the best examples of the darker metallics in this post. I see a lot of people loved Best Actress nominee Naomi Watts’ asymmetrical Armani Prive gown, but I just wasn’t into it. Her body looked beautiful, I liked her hair, jewelry and makeup and I love that she seems to be aging naturally. I also loved the color – like a pewter-blue metallic. But I just didn’t love the design of the dress. It feels like the kind of gown that Cate Blanchett – and ONLY La Blanchett – could really rock. On Naomi, it just seemed… “off”. I would have liked it better (on her) if it had a symmetrical design on top.

Nicole Kidman wore L’Wren Scott, a designer which Nicole has been wearing a lot of lately. I’ll admit it – I really liked this gown when I saw it in motion on the red carpet, but the still photos are leaving me cold. The gold swirls at the bottom are amazing, but now that I’m really looking at it… the gown is too small. Nicole stuffed her bolt-ons into it. And while I love that Nicole seemed “looser” on the red carpet, her hair was WAY too loose. She had some of the worst hair on the red carpet (along with Aniston).

And here’s poor Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan, with her Oscar date George Clooney. They did not rule over the red carpet or the ceremony, which was nice. It was like George was making the effort to not overshadow Ben Affleck. I didn’t really get Stacy’s whole “flapper” styling though. Did the dress really call for it? Not really. So, while I kind of liked the dress, I thought the styling ruined it. PS… Does anyone else think she looks like Giuliana Rancic?

In Touch: George Clooney & Stacy Keibler will break up by the end of March

Much has been made of George Clooney’s Oscar campaigning style, especially when it comes to his Oscar Dates. George is nothing if not a careful planner, so if he knows that he’s going to be campaigning for an Oscar during a given awards season, he makes sure to set up his Oscar Date several months in advance. His last two big relationships (his ongoing thing with Stacy Keibler and his thing with Elisabetta Canalis) began late in the summer before a fall and winter Oscar push. George is disciplined enough to never deviate from the Oscar Date plan too – even though Sarah Larson overstepped The Clooney Rules (she talked about marriage, babies), he waited to dump her until the awards season was over. George will never “pull a Bradley Cooper” and dump his girlfriend just before the Golden Globes. Please. That’s Amateur Hour.

So, we’re about a month away from the Oscars and while George isn’t nominated for an acting award, he’s still going to be front and center because he’s one of the producers of Argo. Which means that Stacy isn’t going anywhere, even if she’s annoying him and even if he’s annoying her.

When George Clooney and Stacy Keibler walked the red carpet at the Globes, they were all smiles for the photographers. But when the cameras were offm “Stacy looked distant and sad,” says a source. “She’s usually bubble and excited to be there next to George, but she was like a statue.”

This comes as no surprise to close pals, who tell In Touch that the end is near for the pair, who have been together since August 2011.

“George liked her at first because she wasn’t into fame,” says George’s friend. “Now that Stacy’s been around the A-list, she’s hooked. George wants someone more low-key.”

For her part, Stacy has grown “bored” with George, adds the source. In recent weeks, she’s been partying with pals – and without George.

“She likes to have fun and George has been working more than ever,” says the source, adding that George is more devoted to his career than to his relationship. But with awards season in full swing, the pair will most likely ride it out until George starts filming The Monuments Men in Europe in March.

“He’s starring in it and directing it, so he’ll be very busy… that means no Stacy.”

[From In Touch Weekly, print edition]

This is one of the most believable Clooney-Keibler breakup stories ever. I completely believe every part of this. I think Clooney has gotten tired of Stacy’s famewhoring and she’s gotten tired of his whole Clooney thing, and they’re just waiting it out for another month or so. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was a quiet announcement in the beginning of March – hell, George might even let Stacy announce it, like she’s dumping him! She’s been a good Oscar Date, and she wisely feathered her nest with all kinds of small, paid gigs and appearances while she was with George. Plus, I’m sure he’ll give her some kind of quiet “payment” when they’re done. She’ll be fine! And by the end of this summer, he’ll have someone new! I’m excited. I’d like to see him with Dita Von Teese, but my money is riding on some completely unknown British brunette with a great rack and he’ll pull some strings and everyone will call her a “model/actress”.
