Whenever I come across new pictures of Brad Pitt I hear this little high note in my brain like angels singing. No matter if you’re into skinny or beefy guys, blondes or brunettes, Brad Pitt is your type.

Brad Pitt is planning to collaborate with Sacha Baron Cohen, aka Ali G/Borat, on a new project. He loved the Borat movie and has reportedly spoken to Cohen about working together on a film in the future.

He is also co-producing a TV show with Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy about the life of a married transsexual sportswriter. Yes, it sounds odd but it could be good:

With all this work coming up, it’s no wonder the gossip rags are reporting that Brad is burning the candle at both ends. Life and Style says that Brad is so exhausted and overwhelmed that George Clooney has been giving him advice on how to slow down. They say he fell asleep on his trailer on the “Oceans 13″ set and that Clooney told him to rest up. They’re most likely basing their conclusions on candids of Brad like they usually do.

According to insiders, Paramount is set to offer Brad Pitt the lead role in Mission Impossible IV. Pitt will star in the next installment of the MI series, all three of which have featured Tom Cruise as agent Ethan Hunt. Pitt is set to play a new agent who manages his own kick-ass team.

Paramount cut ties with Cruise after offering him a contract paying less than a third of his previous operating expenses. Cruise has since launched his own production company, financed in part by the owner of the Washington Redskins.

Sources say that Paramount will give Pitt an offer he can’t refuse, making him the highest-paid actor in history:

Pitt might be able to revitalize the MI series, which seems to be doing fine even with Cruise at the helm. MI3 did well at the box office, grossing almost $400 million, but it didn’t do quite as well as backers were hoping. MI2 took in over $540 million.

Brad and Angelina made another public outing together, and showed up at grafitti artist Banksy’s art opening in LA on Thursday night. This appearance is in contrast to their last time out together, where they tried to avoid being photographed and quickly ran into Scott Caan’s birthday party on 8/23. The gossip rags picked up on it, with In Touch running a story that they’re “Barely Speaking” and using those pictures on the cover. Life & Style had the cover story “Angie Storms Out.”

In it’s September 18th edition, In Touch claimed that they were fighting over how to raise the kids, and said that Angelina wanted to teach them about other cultures and to be grateful for what they had, while Brad just wanted them to have upscale toys and things that other Hollywood kids enjoy. They say that Brad’s adoption of Maddox and Zahara has not yet gone through and that Angie threatened to make her brother, James Haven, their legal guardian.

Life and Style said that Angie left a restaurant in New Orleans in a huff after Brad went to the bar to smoke a cigarette and then returned to the table, chatting on his cellphone. They say that Brad has been trying to contact Jen Aniston and that Angie is pissed.

Both rags relied heavily on candids to make their point, saying that Brad and Angelina’s body language is distant and that they don’t make eye contact. I wouldn’t be surprised if each of those stories was entirely based on photographs with little or no insider information.

Brad and Angelina must have gotten the point, because they held hands, smiled, and looked into each other’s eyes last week while they were out.

Lainey Gossip speculates that they might be ready to make the transition to the red carpet, and could be showing up to together at the Oscars next year. A few more nasty made-up stories in the gossip rags, and she could be right.

I know you’ve already seen the pictures of Brad and Angelina and their family in Germany’s Gala magazine. Today I went out and bought the magazine, but got a little sidetracked shopping for clothes. Regardless I’ve scanned these pictures myself and asked my husband to read the article. There’s nothing revelatory in it, and it’s just a recap of other interviews with Brad and Angelina. Sorry they’re a little off-center. I’m not a scanning wiz.

The headline on the pictures reads: No one can destroy this happiness.

Brad Pitt shows that he’s acquiesced to Angelina Jolie’s request to never make their relationship legal by saying that he won’t get married until his gay brothers and sisters can, too.

Notice he doesn’t say they will get married when everyone else in the entire country can, he says they’ll consider it. First of all, it’s about damn time gay marriage was legalized, but it’s never going to happen throughout the whole US. Second, he doesn’t say that if this snowball’s chance in hell happens they’ll actually get married, he says they’ll think about it.

Angelina has been married twice and we all know how well that went for her. She probably figures all marriages are doomed and is avoiding another one. That could be the best thing for their relationship, as she seems like the type who will bolt if she feels confined.

These pictures aren’t that great, but it’s Brad and Angelina, so I don’t need much of an excuse to publish them. They are said to be going to visit Angelina’s ailing mother at the Ermitage hotel in Beverly Hills. No word as to why they’re travelling separately, but if Angelina is driving a Range Rover by herself you can bet that the environment is not one of her pet causes.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made a public appearance together at an LA art gallery exhibit opening on 8/23. They admired the black and white photographs but didn’t seem to be thrilled with the paparrazi. It’s a shame the US won’t provide the militia required to support their privacy needs. George Clooney was at the exhibit too.

Maybe the gossip rags will take a week off from speculating that they’re fighting, breaking up, or sleeping apart now that they showed up to something as a couple. No wonder Angelina has such a smug look on her face. I wouldn’t put it past her to leave the hottest piece of male ass on the planet, though. She never seems quite satisfied with stability.

Meanwhile Brad is said to be building a huge house in Missouri to be closer to his folks, who now are said to hate Angelina. Fat chance she’ll spend any time there, but Brad does love building houses:

You know, my mother in law takes over everything when she visits. She cooks every meal, rearranges the house, and cleans everything. The woman doesn’t sit down. She even trims and repots my plants. You think I would be grateful, but she’s a guest and should ask me if she can organize my entire kitchen and leave knicknacks around the house. When I try to talk to her about it all normal-like, she thinks I’m tactless, too.

The point is that I wanted to bitch about her, and to say that maybe Angelina isn’t doing anything wrong. She may just be being herself and Brad’s family is pissed that she’s not sucking up to them like Aniston, and isn’t jumping to take their meddling advice about how to raise her kids. It’s normal not to get along with your in-laws.

Why does Brad Pitt smoke? Is he addicted and/or does he think it looks cool? He could eat his boogers and it would look cool, but smoking is just a nasty habit. It’s not like he’s succumbing to peer pressure on set since he’s hanging with Clooney outside their trailers and Clooney’s got a mouthful of gum.

I live in Switzerland, where everything is clean and healthy except for the damn cigarettes. It’s not taboo to smoke here like it is in America. There’s often no non-smoking section in restaurants, and smoking in public is not frowned upon. Unfortunately that’s changed my opinion of smoking a bit, although I still hate to be around the smoke. Celebrities don’t set a good example by smoking, but they’re just hanging out and don’t intend to be photographed so who am I to judge?

The latest non-news on the Jolie-Pitt relationship claims that Angelina wants to get married at this point, and not in some freaky non-binding ceremony, but for real, while Brad is holding off. They’re also supposedly fighting a lot, with people saying that Angelina’s crazy need to escape is getting on Brad’s nerves.

Now Life and Style is reporting that Brad’s reaching out to his ex Jennifer Aniston, which enrages Angelina:

That sounds like bullshit. People really want to know the dirt on the world’s most famous beautiful couple, and it’s quite easily manufactured for our consumption. Then again, I didn’t believe they were going to Africa until they actually did it, either.

Brad Pitt is now back in LA filming Oceans 13, tentatively subtitled “any excuse to see Pitt, Damon and Clooney onscreen together, even if Ellen Barkin is in it,” and he’s been bringing Maddox and Zahara with him to work! Pitt is taking advantage of the on-set daycare.

That’s cute! I wish they had daycare where my husband works.

Meanwhile these new pics on the Oceans set came out. There were just low-res versions before, but these huge pictures of the guys on set are making me swoon! There are plenty of pictures of Damon’s cute butt too! Thanks to Simply Brad for the pics.

No wonder Angelina’s in a tizzy, Brad Pitt is back to work and looks to have recovered more than just his masculinity. He’s cool again!

Jessica Simpson gushed about Brad in her Ok! interview, saying his body in “Fight Club” is “the best male body” and that she still dreams about him.

Update There’s a story that Angelina Jolie is asking people to spy on Brad for her while he’s away filming, and that she’s needy and insecure and is calling him up to ten times a day. The source is some British magazine I’ve barely heard of, so I really doubt it’s true.
