David Schwimmer, 44, and his pregnant 25 year-old wife step out at premiere

fp_7017086_rij_trust_22_52
So David Schwimmer from Friends got married last June to a 25 year-old British waitress and photographer named Zoe Buckman. They didn’t announce the marriage until a few months later, and it was mildly shocking since David is 44 and is nearly 19 years older than Zoe. They’d been together for about three years at that point, though, and David is just a minor celebrity so no one made a big deal out of it. Zoe did look too young for him in my opinion, but their age difference didn’t seem as striking and David still looks like he could be 30-something. (I’m not loving his beard or the Elvis hair, but he still looks good.) Anyway Zoe is pregnant, they made the announcement in December when she was “four or five months” along. She must be seven or eight months now. David and Zoe were at a screening of “Trust,” a movie David directed about an online sex predator. Kaiser already covered the Clive Owen pornstache photos (he plays the vengeful dad) so here are some more.

I don’t know who this chick is who is touching Zoe’s bump, but this photo was so funny to me. It’s like she’s trying to steal a peppermint from the dish at the cash register without having bought anything.
fp_7017089_rij_trust_25_52

Catherine Keneer wore a really unfortunate tiered black dress with strange reddish brown lace up dress shoes. (She plays the mom.) I really like her and hate to see her dressed like this. Don’t get me started on her hair!

Viola Davis looked great though in a black belted dress suit paired with a orange silk top. Her hair and makeup were so well done.

This movie has a dumb premise and I can’t even find the release date on IMDB (I’m sure it’s out in limited release) but it sure has enough talent in it.

David Schwimmer “secretly” married Zoe Buckman months ago

wenn1802397_wenn1802397

I put “secretly” in quotes because at this point, most of what David Schwimmer does is “secret”. Meaning that few people really care. David’s post-Friends life hasn’t been uneventful in any way – he’s actually had some minor success as a director, and he seems to relish a low-key lifestyle. BUT – the physical change in David has been odd. All of a sudden the once groomed and normal-seeming Schwimmer took a more avant-garde, goth poseur turn. I think it was the influence of his girlfriend-now-wife Zoe Buckman. Zoe and David have been together since 2007, when Zoe was 21 and David was 40. I give him credit for staying with the same girl for years, and for marrying her quietly and discreetly. But there some vague weirdness to it too.

The perennially lonely guy of Friends is single no more. David Schwimmer has been secretly married to his British girlfriend Zoe Buckman for four months, the actor’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The two tied the knot in a small private ceremony in early June after having reportedly met in London in 2007, at the time Schwimmer was directing the romantic movie comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run, starring Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton.

A part-time photographer, Buckman, now 25, was waitressing at the Cuckoo Club in London’s West End when she served Schwimmer, now 43. She then reportedly left her home in north London and moved to Los Angeles to be with him.

In March, the two announced their engagement. News of the nuptials was first reported by EW.com. This is the first marriage for both.

Word of Schwimmer’s wedding first surfaced on the same day that Courteney Cox, who played his sister Monica (he played Ross) on NBC’s Friends, announced that she and her husband of 11 years, actor David Arquette, were separating.

[From People]

I tend to think Zoe is too young for him, and I tend to think David should know better. But maybe the fact that they’ve been together for years already, and that no one really cared that they were married, maybe that will help them be a more “normal” couple.

David has directed a second film, by the way. It’s called Trust, and he managed to talk CLIVE OWEN into starring in it. It’s all about Clive’s character’s daughter who goes online and meets a predator and sh-t happens. Clive + Schwimmer = ? Magic? Don’t know. Here’s the trailer:

It just seems like an extended Law & Order: SVU episode, right?

Anyway, congrats to David and Zoe.

RHoNY Countess LuAnn has David Schwimmer-look-alike boyfriend
''Real Housewives Of New York City'' Season 3 Premiere Party

As I wait patiently for the new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta (which will be drama-filled and epic, of course), I’m making do with the Real Housewives of New York. They’re not as wonderful as the Atlanta girls, and they’re not as “mob-wife-y” as the New Jersey ones, but the New York girls have their sleazy charm. I was startled when my mother told me her favorite was Bethenny – ugh. My favorite has always been Countess LuAnn. I think she’s very pretty, and I like how she is with her kids. I also think she’s the one with the most natural “class”. She doesn’t do catfights.

Anyway, the Countess got dumped by her Count husband last year, but she’s already hooked herself another European boyfriend. The dude’s name is Jacques Azoulay, and when I first saw these photos of them together (from last month, my bad), I thought, “Why is the countess all up on David Schwimmer’s grill?” I mean, look at him. He’s the French Schwimmer. It’s spooky. The countess discussed her new boyfriend with E!:

Things are getting serious between Real Housewives of New York City star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and her French wine distributor boyfriend Jacques Azoulay.

“My love life is real good,” de Lesseps gushed to me earlier this week. “You’ll see me dating on this season, but now I have somebody I really like. It’s not easy finding quality people, you know.”

So how did they meet?

“He found me,” de Lesseps said. “We were at a party in New York, and he took me by the hand and asked me to dance.”

They went on a couple of dates before she jetted off for a trip to Europe, “but we’ve been tight ever since,” she said. The countess and her husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps split after he revealed he had been cheating on her.

But whatever, de Lesseps also has a music career to look after these days. Remember when we told you all about the single she recorded, “Money Can’t Buy You Class?” She still refuses to get catty about fellow singing Housewife, Kim “Tardy for the Party” Zolciak of Atlanta. “I’m not going to say,” she laughed when I asked who had the better-sounding pipes. “Kim has her talents, and I have mine. It’s apples and oranges…I mean, apples and peaches.”

[From E News]

Who would love to see a catfight between Kim and LuAnn? Right? It would be epic. But I’m sure Countess LuAnn is too busy meeting Jacque at Central Perk, right after Monica makes them breakfast. I wonder if Phoebe has a new song?

David Schwimmer, 43, & Zoe Buckman, 24, are engaged
Opening night party of 'A Steady Rain' New York

This is a totally boring engagement announcement between one person you’ve never heard of and one person you had forgotten. I just wanted to write about it because of the age difference and a little thing I like to think of as “the douche quotient”. So, David Schwimmer has announced his engagement to Zoe Buckman, a 24-year-old British photographer and maybe actress too. She’s very pretty. And very young. Too young for David, who is 43. Ugh.

David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckman are more than just Friends: The couple have announced they’ll soon be husband and wife.

Schwimmer, 43, and Buckman, 24, are engaged, his rep confirmed to Entertainment Weekly Sunday.

The actor, who shot to fame playing Dr. Ross Gellar on Friends, reportedly met Buckman, a photographer, while he was in London directing the 2007 flick Run Fatboy Run.

This will be the first marriage for both Schwimmer and Buckman.

[From People]

So if they met three years ago, she was 21 years old and he was 40? That still sounds pretty bad to me. I guess I had forgotten that Schwimmer liked them young. He’s a Piven! Ew. Well, he’s probably got a lot of money piled up from Friends, but I’m sure that has nothing to do with this girl marrying him, right? I mean, if a guy had $100 million in the bank and the douche quotient was strong, would you still hit it? I probably would, just because I’m curious. But would you marry it? Eh. Probably not. So in that way, Zoe is taking one for the team, right?

Congratulations, David and Zoe! Mazel tov.

Is a ‘Friends’ movie coming?

friends1
Rumors have resurfaced that a “Friends” movie, based on the hit NBC sitcom that ran for ten years, is in the works. “Friends” has been off the air for five years and it seems like we’ve been hearing stories of a big screen version ever since. Last year, The Daily Mail claimed that a Friends movie was forthcoming, and that it would be produced by Warner Brothers, a claim that Warner Brothers promptly denied. Now News of The World has a new interview with James Michael Tyler, who played cute bald barista Gunther at the show’s coffee house, Central Perk. Tyler allegedly confirms that a film is underway, and that everyone has signed on, including presumed holdout Jennifer Aniston:

Hugs all round – because we can reveal that Friends is back for a big-screen version of the hit sitcom.

Studio bosses have got together for an oversized mug of coffee to prepare a script for a film version of the series.

And they are ready to break the bank with a multi-million package to get the main cast on board.

In an exclusive interview with the News of the World, James Michael Tyler – who played Central Perk oddball Gunther – confirmed: “Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen.”

The film comes in the wake of the big screen version of Sex And The City which took an astonishing $408,921,925 at the box office.

The cast have always made no secret about a desire to do a film and Lisa Kudrow said: “It would be so fun to be with all those people again.

“But our show was not like Sex and the City – ours was multi-camera, in front of a live audience.

“It’s a completely different feel. You’d have to bring the tone down, and I don’t know how it would be. I’ll just stay open.”

Meanwhile actor James, 47, who is in London for the launch of a Central Perk themed coffee shop in Soho, is keen to reprise his role as Gunther on the big screen.

He said: “The one thing I can tell you is that I am definitely on board to do the film.

“I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again.

“I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”

[From News of The World]

Jennifer Aniston is just about the only castmember who seems busy and successful enough to want to avoid a film version of “Friends.” She’s been gracious to the show that helped launch her career but has said several times that she’s moved on and doesn’t want to do a movie. Aniston has her own production company and according to IMDB she has three films in post production and a whopping seven films in development. I doubt she has the time or inclination to remind us yet again how well she plays Rachel Green. Courtney Cox has a new sitcom, “Cougar Town,” that premiered last week and is doing well in the ratings. (I saw it and thought it was goofy and trying too hard, but people seem to like it.) She isn’t that booked and would probably gladly do a “Friends” movie. The other cast members, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, have all kind of floundered in their careers post-”Friends” and would probably love to a do a film.

That said, it’s possible that News of the World is either making this up (they’ve been known to fabricate entire interviews) or that they’re twisting Tyler’s words to make it sound like a movie is in the works when all he said was that he’d be open to it. It seems like all the latest films are based on old ideas and I wouldn’t be surprised if this was in the works, but I won’t believe it until I hear confirmation from a reliable source. “Friends” was a great show, though, and I would definitely go see the movie if this is true.

Does Jennifer Aniston want a baby with David Schwimmer?

anistonschwimmer
The National Enquirer is reporting a doozy this week that Jennifer Aniston, who is filming IVF comedy The Baster in New York, wants invitro fertilization in real life to make her dream for a baby come true. Her top candidate for sperm donation is said to be Aniston’s former on-screen baby daddy, David Schwimmer. If she did get pregnant by Schwimmer it would certainly help promote this film:

Jennifer Aniston has decided on her dream baby daddy – her former “Friends” co-star David Schwimmer!…

“Jen’s been telling everyone on the set this film [The Baster] should be promoted as the story of her life,” a set insider told The Enquirer.

“But the real shocker is that she says her top candidate for artificial insemination is David Schwimmer!”

And it yet another twist on life – maybe – imitating art, Schwimmer’s character fathered Jen’s baby on “Friends”!…

“Jen isn’t afraid of raising a child on her own. She says David is perfect father material because he’s the whole package – handsome, tall, smart and with a full head of hair!”

And at 42, Schwimmer is still a bachelor after a string of failed romances.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, April 20, 2009]

Part of me wants this to be true. It would be fulfilling for Aniston if this is what she wants, and it would also make for great gossip. I would love to hear that she’s pregnant by some unknown guy, only to find out right before the baby is born that it’s Schwimmers! These two were so great together as Rachel and Ross and maybe the friendship they formed over the years would translate to successful co-parenting. If Aniston had a baby with Scwimmer’s sperm it also might help the poor guy dust off his star a little. We haven’t heard from him in a while and I really enjoyed his character on Friends.

On the other hand, this sounds too good to be true and it’s just as likely to be either made up by The Enquirer, or a joke that Aniston is making on set. You can imagine her quipping that she wants to have a baby with Schwimmer, only to have some crew member overhear her and repeat the story like it’s true.

According to the upcoming issue of Parade Magazine, Jennifer Aniston earned $27 million last year alone. That’s plenty of compensation to have to put up with seeing lies printed about you whenever you go to the supermarket. Would you take a million bucks if it meant the gossip magazines would talk smack about you for the rest of your life? It’s like a Faustian bargain for these people.

Is “Friends” finally coming to the big screen? (update: probably not)

Rumors have abounded since Friends ended its successful ten year run in 2004 that the cast would make a movie. Every so often one of the cast members would admit they’ve been talking about it, but there was always one holdout, who no one would ever name. Sometimes they’d claim it was one of the guys, though it was often rumored to be Jennifer Aniston.

Supposedly they’re really going to make the film now, inspired by the success (and I’m guessing the money) of the recent Sex & the City film.

The highly anticipated film production of TV series Friends has finally been given the go-ahead, MailOnline has learned. The actors have been inspired by the recent success of Sex And The City, which recently hit cinemas worldwide. A source said: ‘Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances.

‘The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right. Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions.’

While Cox, 44, LeBlanc, 40, Perry, 39, Kudrow, 45 and Schwimmer, 41, were believed to be keen on the reunion, Aniston, 39, is believed to have dragged her heels. Now, however, she is keen to move ahead with the project, which will be produced by Warner Bros. ‘She says she and Courteney have already talked this summer about what they want out of a Friends movie, and if deals can be made with them, everything else can fall into place rather quickly.

[From the Daily Mail]

It sounds like things are as close to happening as they’ve ever been. But when the same rumor has been floating around for four years, it’s hard to tell when/if it’s actually become legitimate. Even though Jennifer Aniston is probably the biggest star from the show, I think all of them could benefit from a successful film. The Daily Mail pointed out that Aniston has had a few okay movies, but she’s still much better known for her personal life than her great movie career. And I’m pretty sure that at this point, Matt LeBlanc should take whatever he can get.

It seemed like there was a bit of a Friends backlash right after the series finale. Suddenly everyone was claiming they never found it funny. Television comedies have really moved in a different direction since then. There are very few traditional sitcoms left on the air – and almost none of them are filmed in front of a live audience anymore. It’ll be interesting to see if people still find the show’s brand of humor funny. Something tells me that no matter what, it won’t compare to the financial success of the Sex & the City film.

Update by Celebitchy: A representative for Warner Brothers has denied that there’s a Friends movie in the works, saying “(There’s) no truth in the story.” Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry’s spokespeople have also denied that there’s a Friends movie being planned. [Details From SFGate]

David Schwimmer slams British food

jtm-022702.jpg

David Schwimmer has been in the UK on and off for the last year or doing a play and directing a movie. Though he seems very fond of the England, he’s not so big on the food.

“David Schwimmer was disgusted by British food during his recent stay in the country. The former Friends star criticized the nation’s cuisine after spending time in the country for his role in West End production Some Girl(s) in 2005 and directing his latest movie Run, Fat Boy, Run in London earlier this year.

“He says, ‘You guys deep-fry everything. Even healthy British food like Shepherd’s Pie makes you put on 20 pounds after every meal.’’

[From Starpulse]

I know I’m going to get yelled at, but I’m going to have to agree. When I was last in the UK I was traveling around on a student’s budget, so there wasn’t really much of an opportunity for fine dining, so my experience was obviously limited. But I’ve never experienced such consistently heavy, potato-based food in my life. Starches on top of starches. Why would someone want pasta with a side of potatoes? I haven’t eaten a baked potato since. Schwimmer also stated his love of the country – specifically his love of the British ladies.

“David Schwimmer has said that he is more then willing to put his career on hold for love.

“He tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine that ‘I look at someone like Courteney Cox and see how happy she is, but I’ve always put work first and now I have no wife and no family. My mom would love to see me settled, as she thinks it will make my life complete.’

“He said American girls need not apply!

“David said that he is looking for a wife in London. David went on to say that ‘I do like British girls especially their sense of humour.’

[From Product Reviews]

Let’s hope Schwimmer’s not so old-fashioned that he expects his wife to cook for him, or it’ll be a lifetime of blood sausage and jacket potatoes. I can’t imagine any girl being attracted to him for him – he just seems so Ross Gellar. I’d forever be handing him dinosaur bones (I’d have to pick some up first) in an attempt to make him happy.

Picture note by JayBird: Here’s David (not exactly trying to distance himself from the Ross Gellar look) at the Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony. Header image of David at the RSVP to Help Benefit for Habitat for Humanity benefit in January. Images thanks to PR Photos.

“Friends” reunion is coming – really!

The NY Post’s Cindy Adams reports that a long-rumored “Friends” reunion is now in the works, and that holdout Jennifer Aniston finally agreed to it:

JENNIFER Aniston, and whatever reason changed her mind, who knows, finally OK’d a “Friends” reunion. The primary holdout, she, now, for whatever reason, who knows, has agreed to it. Everyone’s thrilled. It’s big bucks for the whole bunch. Jennifer always loved the show’s Thanksgiving episodes – for whatever reason, who knows – so she’s encouraging the script to be something Thanksgiving-y, or at least to center around that holiday. Please, no remarks about a turkey.

A while ago it was rumored that Lisa Kudrow said that “one of the guys” was holding up the reunion after Kathleen Turner let it slip that she was approached to reprise her role as Chandler’s mom, but then Kudrow denied that a reunion was in the works.

Now that Cindy Adams has reported it, it’s probably true, and I can’t wait! I love that show, although it’s hard to watch now that I have such a poor opinion of Aniston. She must have realized how much she owes to “Friends” and maybe she’ll be grateful to the show for making her famous.
