Rachel Bilson just made the cardinal mistake with the popular but questionable “helmet hair” style that is sweeping Hollywood and the female masses. She went for the full bang treatment while leaving her hair long and not taking enough volume out to make it sleek and straight. In my opinion this cut doesn’t work for thicker hair unless it’s thinned out to achieve a sleeker, smoother style like Katie Holmes or Christina Ricci.

We covered the helmet hair phenomenon in an earlier post, and Bilson looks like Elle Macpherson now. They’re both gorgeous women but the heavy bangs don’t suit their longer, thicker hair and just make them look like night creatures peering out from beneath a mass of fur. The hair takes over their face and becomes the look and the features are secondary.

Bilson looked so much prettier before she covered half her face with a continuous curtain of hair. Don’t fall prey to this latest hair trend! You can sweep the bangs to the side until they’re grown out, but there is a real risk of depression with a bad haircut. Just ask Javier Bardem.

Rachel Bilson has shattered the dreams of teenage boys the world over by declining to do nudity. Ever. She revealed this in a Playboy interview. I guess being in Playboy doesn’t mean what I thought it did. Now you can read it for the articles.

Rachel Bilson almost didn’t appear in The Last Kiss because she won’t do nudity, the actress reveals in Playboy.

“Movies can be sexy or sexual without showing things,” the former O.C. star, 26, said in the issue out Friday. “It’s almost a deal breaker. The movie was rated R, and they like to put in nudity wherever they can, but I’m pretty strong willed and believe it can be avoided.”

I think this is very determined of her, although she complains that the roles she wants often go to Kirsten Dunst, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman or Kate Bosworth. Probably because they do nudity! Actually, it’s great that Rachel keeps her clothes on, it proves that the roles she gets are because of her talent rather than her more obvious assets.

If she changes her mind though, she has a great excuse for baring all.

THE O.C. star Rachel Bilson has suffered partial amnesia since cheating death in a teenage car crash.

The actress was in a coma for two days following the smash, which left a friend paralysed - and she has struggled to recall events from her near and distant past since.

The 26-year-old says, “I was involved in a car accident when I was 14. I had a concussion and blacked out. I don’t have much of a memory now.”

26 year-old Jessica Alba looks pregnant to me. I know I’m always calling celebrities pregnant, but in the last two cases, Nicole Richie and Cate Blanchett, I was right and well ahead of the tabloids. (Although I did call Nicole Kidman pregnant enough times for her to have had Irish twins by now.) At first I wrote this whole post making fun of Alba’s recent lack of style, but when I looked at the pictures closely I was struck by how much her lower stomach looks like it’s sticking out in this dress. It could just be the style of the dress, but I suspect she’s knocked up. Alba is currently reunited with her longterm boyfriend, Cash Warren, who was also at the premiere of Awake in NY last night.

Is Alba pregnant or did she fire her stylist? She was on TRL on Tuesday wearing a loose t-shirt and skirt outfit that Agent Bedhead said made her look “like the ditzy secretary who takes the ‘business-casual; notion way too literally.” Then last night she showed up at the premiere of her new film, Awake, wearing a black dress with scalloped lace detail and puffy cap sleeves. Her look is just perfect for that mid 80s prom she would have been crowned queen of if she was born 15 years earlier.

The dress even featured some odd gathered fabric tied around the stomach area that managed to make the super-thin Alba look pregnant, and she paired it with dark stockings! That dress makes it seem as if she’s got something to hide, like a bump or her natural beauty. When did Alba start dressing like a frump? Wasn’t she know for her excellent fashion on the red carpet? Alba is a b-movie actress who scored a gig presenting at the Oscars on looks and fashion. Take away the fashion and she starts to look plain.

Compare Alba to her co-star Hayden Christensen’s girlfriend, Rachel Bilson, who looks flawless apart from those huge double hoop earrings, which aren’t ridiculous so much as distracting. Her dress takes just enough risks to look daring without going over the top, and the bright diagonal swatches of color and slightly asymmetric bustline are striking. She matches a plain black belt with simple black heels and the result is gorgeous, like Jessica Alba used to look. Maybe Alba should call up Cate Blanchett and ask her how to maximize her style while trying to hide the growing evidence of a pregnancy. Just dressing uglier isn’t going to help, and it may lead to some false bump spottings, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, The OC’s onscreen and once-offscreen couple, have broken up after two years together. These two were said to be having problems a few weeks ago due to Rachel getting too close to her costar in “The Last Kiss,” Zach Braff. It looks like they parted at some point and were able to keep it a secret for quite a while. Rachel and Adam were seen out separately several times, and it’s not too surprising that they’re no longer together. They were an adorable couple though and this is sad news:

Onscreen lovebirds Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, who play a cute couple on The O.C. and have also dated offscreen since 2004, have decided to call it quits.

“They’ve been done for a few weeks,” a friend close to the couple tells Life & Style. “They are just done. That’s all there is to it. There’s no drama. They just ended it.”

That may explain why Adam showed up solo to a party on Nov. 28 for the U.S. premiere of Volkswagen’s concept car Tiguan in LA.

“He was definitely acting like a single guy,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style.

According to nightlife insiders in LA, he’s been spending a lot of time without Rachel at the clubs with his guy friends.

Reps for the two would not comment.

I was kind of hoping these two were solid, but they were both just 26 and that seems kind of young to settle down in Hollywood.

Rachel Bilson refused to get naked for her movie debut in Zach Braff’s “Last Kiss,” so a body double was hired to do her nude scenes:

“Last Kiss” is a film about a young guy trying to find himself, but it’s said to be much more nuanced than Braff’s last film, “Garden State.” The film comes out on September 15th.

On Thursday we reported that it looked like trouble for The O.C’s adorable on and off-screen couple, Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody. The pair were spotted separately last week, with a disheleved Brody jamming out at a concert and Bilson getting drunk at clubs with her girlfriends. It looks like we were wrong that the two were having trouble, since Brody and Bilson were caught out shopping by the ever-present paparrazi last week. They’re standing a little far apart, though we wouldn’t read too much into it.

Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson, The O.C.’s onscreen and real life couple, have been going their separate ways lately. Bilson has been photographed drunk and out on the town with girlfriends, and Brody was seen looking scruffy at the Sasquatch music festival in Washington state.

Of course couples don’t have to hang out together constantly, but Brody is looking pretty depressed and scruffy while Bilson is drunk. It seems like something’s going on.

It looks like Seth runs into his geeky ex-girlfriend Anna while touring the campus. Anna is sure to mix things up for Seth and Summer’s relationship.

The OC’s creator, Josh Schwartz, admits that he’s having trouble figuring out what to do with The O.C. when the lead characters go to college:

The show could always follow the characters at university, which is the most logical thing to do. No one is going to want to watch it if most of the young cast is gone or replaced.

“Thank you for Smoking” author Christopher Buckley admits that he had no clue who Adam Brody was when he was first looking over the cast list for the film based on his novel. Then his teenage daughter clued him in:

Buckley didn’t have much input in the film, but is very pleased with the result. It is also doing well critically with an 81% overall rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
