Two days ago, Jon Hamm appeared on the Today Show to promote Mad Men with some of his castmates. In the course of the discussion, Matt Lauer asked The Hamm about his recent comments regarding the celebration, promotion and rewarding of “incuriousness” as seen in (Hamm’s words) “f–king idiots” like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. While Paris still hasn’t breathed a word about Jon’s comments, Ol’ Kat-face tried to hitch her ass to Hamm and idiotically call him out for being “careless” in his wording. The Hamm initially responded by basically saying, “Nothing personal or anything, but yeah, that sh-t still stands” (in so many words). Then on Today he went even further by saying:

“I don’t think [my words] were careless. I think they were accurate. It’s a part of our culture that I certainly don’t identify with, and I don’t really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility. And it’s not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what is and here we are…. There are a lot of channels on the dials and those channels need to be filled up with things… It’s different strokes for different folks.”

So of course Kim Kardashian had to respond. Again. She called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday and she basically screamed “UNCLE!”

“I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. I just feel like, to be honest, it’s all about trying to stay focused and keeping everything positive. It really takes a lot more energy and effort to be harsh than to say something nice and be positive.”

Eh. I’m glad she didn’t try to remind us that she’s a successful “writer” and “producer”. Is it wrong that I don’t completely hate what she said? Yes, I’m firmly ensconced on Team Hamm (forever and always), and I love that The Hamm isn’t afraid to engage in a real conversation about mind-numbing trash television and what it says about our (dumb) culture. While I think Kim’s “give everybody a gold star because we’re all part of the same celebrity ecosystem” argument is much too simplistic, I give her some credit for her Zen-like approach here. She’s basically saying “Live and let live, bitches.”

Oh, and Ryan asked Kim is she’s dating Kanye West. She said, “I think I’m still married…I’m really not dating right now at all: I’m really just focusing on work. I know I always say this, but I’m trying to just get through my situation and just have fun.” Sigh… she really is that vapid.

Oh, and I have no idea why these jeans exist. I think I had a pair of these when I was 7 years old. They were a bad idea then, and they’re a bad idea now.

Jon Hamm and the cast of Mad Men were on this morning’s Today Show, and the interview is totally worth a viewing for those Mad Men-fanatics, so I’m including the video at the end of the post. But really, I just want to talk about Jon Hamm and how he’s not backing away from his comments about Kim Kardashian whatsoever. The Hamm got the ball rolling in an interview in Elle UK when he said, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f–king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly. Incuriousness has become cool… It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

Kim Kardashian deigned to respond days later, saying: “I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, “stupid,” is in my opinion careless.”

Jon then responded in kind: “It’s surprising to me that it has become remotely a story. I don’t know Ms. Kardashian, I know her public persona. What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right.” And when The Hamm was asked about it again this morning, he said:

Can I just say something? I love that he doesn’t feel the need to back down whatsoever. He’s not offering a half-hearted apology, he’s not claiming to be misquoted, he’s not saying that he meant something else. He’s having a conversation about what we consider entertainment and the celebration of stupidity. It’s not the most important battle to wage, but I like him even more for conducting himself like an adult and talking about real things.

When I was looking at these photos in the thumbnails, I was all, “Wow, finally. Kim Kardashian’s kat-face doesn’t look so insane for once.” But then I looked at the hi-res photos. I was wrong. It is INSANE. Her cheeks, her lips, her marble-like forehead – it’s just ridiculous at this point, especially considering how pretty she was just five years ago. Anyway, these are photos from Rob Kardashian’s 25th birthday bash at 1Oak in Las Vegas on Friday night. Kim’s date was her mom, of course. Kourtney and Khloe didn’t come to the event, though. They tweeted birthday congrats to Rob, of course, and Kim tweeted this photo:

Ugh. Can Kim not pose like that when she’s standing next to her brother?!?!

In other Kat-face news, TMZ has the latest on her divorce proceedings with Kris Humphries:

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are both willing to end their marriage with an annulment, but each is insisting that the other confess to fraud — and that’s what is holding up their settlement.

Sources connected to the former couple tell TMZ … Kim would be happy to annul the marriage, if Kris will admit he defrauded her by promising to live with her in Hollywood and then demanding that she move to Minnesota — something we told you about last October.

As we first reported, Kris wants Kim to admit fraud — that she never had any intention of making this a real marriage … something Kim has adamantly denied.

We’re told Kim will open the vault and spend anything it takes to win this case if Kris insists that she confesses fraud.

As for money … we’ve already told you Kris is demanding $7 million from Kim — something Kim thinks is absurd since he MADE money off the wedding and the reality show PLUS they have a prenup which gives Kris a big fat zero.

Hmm… it would be interesting to hear a divorce lawyer’s take on this. If the annulment goes through (with one or both of them admitting to fraud), doesn’t that make the prenup null and void? Or is TMZ’s source saying that Kim and Kris have already worked out a settlement ($7 million to Kris, the last I heard), and now they just have to work out who gets the “blame”. Here’s a tip, Kris and Kim: we dislike both of you. A lot. It doesn’t matter to us who gets “blamed”. Both of you are at fault.

Kim Kardashian tweeted the above photo last night with the message “Can’t sleep tonight…”. AND?!?! She couldn’t sleep so she decided to play with Photoshop until she rendered herself into some kind of cat-faced sexbot? Anyway… there’s lots of Kardashian news today, but considering much of it is fake tabloid drama, let’s start with the real story. Last week, Jon Hamm slammed Kim Kardashian and the purveyors of “incuriousness” in an Elle UK interview. He actually called her a “f–king idiot”. Kim responded on Monday, saying something about how awesome she is at being a producer, businesswoman, writer, etc. And now Jon Hamm has responded to her response, saying:

Classy. I like that he didn’t apologize or claim to be misquoted. I also like that he didn’t insult her further. This is why we love The Hamm. I wonder if Kim will respond again? Hopefully not.

Now, onto the tabloid dramz. OK! Magazine reports this week that when Kim was in Paris for Kanye West’s show, “the two couldn’t keep their hands off each other… Backstage, they were really touchy-feely, and she was blatantly giving him bedroom eyes. Later, they secretly met for drinks at his hotel room. She tries to say they’re just friends, but no one is fooled. Whenever she talks about him, she gets this Cheshire Cat grin on her face and then quickly changes the subject.”

But what about Reggie Bush? What about all of those Saudi princes just waiting to add Ol’ Kat-face to their harems? Well, OK’s insider says “Kim’s still pretty hung up on Reggie, and she knows this will make him jealous. Yet, as soon as her and Kris Humphries‘s marriage went south, she and Kanye were back at it. And this trip to Paris has really heated things up.” However, In Touch Weekly claims that Reggie has already dumped Kim – a source says, “Reggie never really trusted her.” And when Kim was trying to make Reggie jealous by hooking up with Kanye, it made Reggie realize that Kim is just a cat-faced famewhore (and perhaps an actual whore): “Reggie’s been telling people that Kim’s disgusting for hooking up with Kanye. They deserve each other.” Dun dun dun. While I think Kim and Reggie were exploring perhaps getting back together, I do wonder if either of them was taking it seriously. Oh, well. I hope Kim sticks with Kanye. I think they’d be fun together.

Over the weekend, I covered Jon Hamm’s interview with the new issue of Elle UK. In the interview, Jon discussed male and female beauty, how he’ll probably never get married, and interestingly enough, he took some time out to slam stupid people. Because life is an episode of 30 Rock. Surprisingly, The Hamm took the same basic track as Daniel Craig, only I like Jon’s argument more:

“Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly. Incuriousness has become cool… It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

I like that he made it about “incuriousness” rather than the ungodly sums of money these famewhores rack in (which was Daniel Craig’s point). Anyway, you knew it was going to happen – I’m only surprised that it took a matter of DAYS for Kim Kardashian to respond, via Twitter:

Meh. It’s not as ridiculous as it could have been, but once again, I’m setting the bar pretty low for Ol’ Kat-Face. Considering Kim is basically saying that Jon has every right to say what he said, but she just thinks he’s a big meanie, I wonder why she even responded. I mean, Paris Hilton didn’t respond. Did she? I didn’t even check. What does it say about Kim Kardashian’s incessant famewhoring if Paris Hilton knows when to keep her mouth shut and just let haters hate on?

As for Kim’s list of “accomplishments” – dear God. Does she really consider herself a writer or designer? Or a “creator”? The “businesswoman” part of the argument is the strongest, but let’s not go overboard complimenting Kim’s “creativity”.

These are some photos of Kim Kardashian from a few days ago, while she was pumping her own gas in LA. At least she pumps her own gas? Sure. We’re setting the bar pretty low on that one, though. Anyway, yesterday we discussed TMZ’s story about how Kris Humphries is trying to legally extort millions of dollars from Ol’ Kat-face. According to TMZ’s report, Kris Humphries walked away from the marriage with more money than you’d think – that he made something like $1 million from the wedding. But now TMZ has a new story claiming that in reality, while Kris was supposed to be get his cut of everything, Kim still has all of the money/wedding profits:

Sources close to Kris Humphries say he has no beef with the story we posted yesterday — that he made a bundle off of his wedding to Kim Kardashian — but according to Kris’ camp … the bballer hasn’t seen a penny and Kim has it all.

We’re told before they were hitched … Kim and Kris opened a joint account in which they deposited all the money they made from the wedding and other ventures. Our sources say Kris did indeed get money for selling wedding photos and appearing on the Kardashian reality show … but they say all that money went into the joint account and Kris never got any of it.

Here’s what’s perplexing. Since it was a joint account, Kris would have as much access to the money as Kim. But sources connected to Kris say he’s never attempted to withdraw any of it.

As we reported yesterday … Kris wants millions from Kim as part of the divorce settlement, even though they were together in marriage for only 72 days.

Sources close to Kris tell us … he doesn’t even care about the money — all he wants is an annulment.

Problem for Kris is …. in order to get an annulment, he has to prove the marriage was fraudulent, and that’s going to be tough.

Kris’ lawyer had no comment.

Isn’t it pretty much established at this point that the whole thing was a fraud? Or put another way, A Kardashian Kon. They’re like fancy, Botoxy grifters. Over the past month or so, Life & Style has been running lots of stories about Kris Humphries legal strategy in his ongoing divorce proceedings with Kim Kardashian. I tend to think that Kris (or his lawyer) is leaking information and strategies to Life & Style, because some of these pieces are very suspicious. One of the last stories I talked about was something about Kris wanting to “legally destroy” Kim in court when she was compelled to give testimony about the state of their 72-day marriage. Basically, it seems like Kris wants to say that their marriage was a fraud from the beginning, and as such, the prenup should be null and void. Which leaves Kim open for being forced to give Kris a larger divorce settlement, I guess. I don’t really understand all of the machinations, honestly, but I’m really not paring that much attention. Anyway, TMZ had a new report this weekend which claimed that Kris’s price for simply walking out of Kim’s life is now $7 million.

Sources directly connected to Kris tell TMZ … the bballer — through his Minnesota lawyer — has given Kim an ultimatum … either pay up, or endure an ugly, public trial.

Our sources say Kris and his lawyer have been told to pound sand, and with good reason.

For starters, even if there wasn’t a prenup, the marriage lasted a grand total of 72 days, so the community property wouldn’t be in the universe of $7 mil.

Second, there was an iron-clad prenup, which provided that Kim owes Kris zilch.

Third, Kris actually MADE MONEY from the marriage. Sources tell us … Kris raked in around $1 mil from the wedding and the TV special that showcased the nuptials. And Kris made off like a bandit because Kim ended up using a portion of what she got to pay for the ring.

In addition, we’re told Kris made somewhere between $250,000 and $300,000 from the Kardashian reality show.

Looks like the Bank of Kardashian is officially closed.

Is it just me, or does $7 million sound like a cheap payoff for the Kardashians? No one really knows how much Kim (and Kris Jenner) made off of the wedding, but it was probably eight figures. Add to that all of the other Kardashian-branded krap that Kim makes buckets of money off of… $7 million sounds like not even a third of Kim’s 2011 income. Just cut the bastard a check and be done with it.

These are photos of Kim Kardashian arriving in Paris yesterday, likely to attend some events for Paris Fashion Week. A pox on her house for her shiny Birkin bag!!! Ugh. I hate that she’s all about the Birkins. I hate that Hermes can’t contain their clientele, you know? Now every reality star and sports WAG has a Birkin. So I’ve stopped lusting after them. Anyway, as you can see, Kim Kardashian’s face looks like it was molded out of spare Barbie doll plastic. I was so overcome by the jacked-ness (new word!), I wasn’t even looking at her hair situation. But other outlets were – Radar and The Mail claim that in the header photo, you can see evidence of “a very noticeable thinning patch of hair on the side of her head… her somewhat bald spot, often the sign of damage from hair extensions pulling at the root.” Look, people: I’ll make fun of Kat-Face for nearly any reason. But all I’m seeing is some slight hair loss, probably weave-related, not some massive “bald spot.” Just my opinion. And there are so many other Kardashian-katastrophes to make fun of.

In other Kardashian news, Kris “Um, BASKETBALL” Humphries is totally mad at his estranged wife. What is Basketball mad about these days? He’s mad that Kim kept all of their wedding gifts and donated twice the amount to charity.

That’s one heck of a he-said, she-said battle over a blender! Kim Kardashian may have announced plans to donate twice the value of the wedding gifts she received at her doomed nuptials to charity, but that isn’t sitting well with her ex Kris Humphries.

Receiving $100,000 worth of gifts in August, Kardashian — who filed for divorce from Humphries 72 days later — wrote a thank-you note to guests explaining that while their gifts were appreciated, the reality star wanted to repay them through a charitable donation.

Confirming that Kardashian did write a check to the Dream Foundation — a “wish-granting organization” for adults — in the amount of $200,000, a source tells Us Weekly that while the couple kept the actual gifts, the Dream Foundation, like most charities, could make far better use of the money versus high-priced vases and stemware.

Though Humphries applauds his ex’s generosity, a source close to the NBA star says he takes extra offense to the fact that she’s keeping the actual items in her possession.

“Kris has always felt they should return gifts to the people that spent their money on it,” the source explains. “Kris respects Kim for donating money and is happy she is doing that. He 100 percent thinks that is great, but she should give the gifts back.”

While a Kardashian source familiar with the couple’s prenuptial agreement argues the bride and groom were free to do what they wished with their own gifts, a Humphries insider counters she should have waited until the court declares their marriage dissolved to divide property.

“By court order, they are not supposed to do anything at the moment until the marriage is dissolved completely and they both decide how everything will end up,” says the Humphries insider, who tells Us he only kept Bibles given to him by family. “She is violating court order by saying she is not returning them.”

I actually groaned at the line, “who tells Us he only kept Bibles given to him by family…” Well played, Kris? Ugh. I mean, LMAO. So, multiple members of his family gave him BIBLES when he married Kim Kardashian? That’s a signal that it’s not going to last. You’re marrying an amateur pr0n star and your family is gifting you with multiple copies of the Bible.

As for Kris and Kim and their divorce… how much longer are they going to be fighting over this? The divorce battle is lasting longer than the courtside, engagement and marriage put together.

I always forget that Kanye West is a “designer” now too. Kanye launched his ready-to-wear Fall/Winter line in Paris last night, and all of his friends came out to support him – Alicia Keys, Common, P. Diddy, Swizz Beatz, Rosario Dawson, and of course, Kim Kardashian. Rumors about Kim and Kanye have been swirling for years – Amber Rose (Kanye’s ex) recently claimed that Kanye cheated on her with Kim, and a few months ago, Kanye was “all over” Kim at some concert. So what does it mean that Kim flew to Paris to be with Kanye on his big night? What does it mean that Kanye “dressed” Kim in this furry white ensemble? Kanye designed the shoes too – they retail for $6000. Fo’ real.

Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West more than just friends? Kim flew over the pond to Paris, France today to support her longtime pal and rumored lover at his Kanye West Ready-To-Wear Fall/Winter 2012 show at Halle Freyssinet.

The 31-year-old reality star looked beautiful in off-white leggings, platforms and a fur shawl draped over her shoulders. Her long hair was straight, parted down the side and flowing down her shoulders.

Following the event, Kanye and Kim went go-carting and she had a blast. “Go carting in Paris!!! Doesn’t get much better than this!” she tweeted.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I really like the idea of Kim and Kanye as a couple. I think they make some strange kind of sense. While Kanye does have genuine talent, there is a performance-art/famewhore aspect to his celebrity, and I think it would work well with Kim, who is made up entirely of “famewhore”. Plus, they just kind of look cute together. Do you think that Kanye was like, “Imma make sure that Kim Kardashian gets all up in my fur”? Because this outfit is NOT cute, but I’m guessing Kim just wore it because Kanye gave it to her.

Soon after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage, everyone was like, “Um, is she going to return all of the wedding gifts or what?” Since Kim and Kris invited all of their C-list friends and they had such a big wedding registry, they received gifts in excess of $100,000. And many reports suggested that Kim was simply going to keep everything and call the whole thing “another win for Team Kat-Face.” Well, those reports were partially correct. Kim is keeping all of the gift, but she’s donated twice their worth to The Dream Foundation. Smart?

Kim Kardashian is making lemonade out of lemons. The reality star, 31, and husband Kris Humphries received about $100,000 worth of wedding gifts back in August, but they famously called it quits after just 72 days, with Kardashian filing for divorce Oct. 31.

But Kardashian wrote all of her wedding guests a thank-you note. As obtained by TMZ, the letter reads “I would like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift. It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation.”

“Our dreamers have received a life expectancy of one year or less, and lack the resources to achieve their dreams on their own,” the charity’s website explains. “While we cannot cure their diseases, we can dramatically impact the quality of their fragile lives with the joy experienced from a dream come true.”

CB was all “Meh, it’s a tax write-off for her,” which is true. But still… Kim didn’t have to donate to charity – the wedding gift controversy was over, forgotten. She could have just kept the gifts, not donated anything, and moved on to her next famewhorin’ project. So… I’ll give Kat-face some credit. Good job!

Also – CB pointed out this new interview with Kim where she claims that she’s “not dating.” What about Reggie? What about those Saudi princes? Oh, Kat-face.
